Supernatural (43,790)
by Isabelle from USA
| |
I'm already becoming obsessed with Supernatural. I keep replaying the snippet over and over. It has a sugary-pop fantasy-esque beat, I though it was going to be a piano-driven ballad or a ballad-lullaby like "Blue", but it isn't.

You are 0% correct. Thank you for clarifying this for the lambs. The theme here is pre-order the whole album if you want what you've liked so far. After all, Mimi did say the album has to be heard as a "whole".

May 23rd or May 27th? (43,785)
by Will from Australia
| |

I'm confused, my iTunes pre order says expected May 23rd but some articles that Mariah has tweeted say May 27th. Does anyone know what it actually is?

Pre-order new album (43,784)
by OGmattyICE from US
| |
I'm not sure if it's been brought to ya'lls attention yet, but on iTunes USA you can pre-order Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse with both clean and explicit lyrics on both the standard and deluxe versions. That's 4 total pre-orders. Simply go to the "albums" section of Mariah Carey on iTunes, scroll down, and you will find them. I hope this helps. Spread the word.

Don't be patetic (43,783)
by Anonymous from
| |
When Mariah does something good I praise her and talk about it, when she does something bad (in my opnion) I will talk about it too. But really, some people are patetic. I read some comments on her Today performance and I need a rest, some of you claim for perfection. Mariah doesn't need to hit every single note in a perfect range or how she used to do it in her early years before so much concerts, albums, interviews, etc etc. She is not a machine. I think she did a really good job, she sounded out of key in some parts in "Always be my baby" but in general was good. And why if she sang along a playback in some parts of her new song. Everybody does that. I'm sure that if she sounded perfect in every song, every note then some of you would say: it's lipsynching. Really those kind of comments stress me.

Mariah, the Today performance (43,782)
by Anonymous from
| |
I watched the performance on the Today show and it made me feel happy. She was really good, having a good time. I liked the 3 songs. I have to say that "You donīt know what to do" is a really good song, very fresh and catchy. I wonder why that song wasn't the last single instead "You're mine lol" whatever. The only thing that I didn't like is that Mariah still doesn't know how to move along all the stage. I hate when she stands in only one place but in general I enjoyed the show.

Thirsty (43,781)
by Darryle from USA
| |
Mariah instagramed a short video of the album and single covers with Thirsty as background music. Seeing this now I'm confused on whether or not she's dropping it. Normally when she drops something she just doesn't acknowledge it. So maybe it will be a single and she just didn't perform it at the summer concert.

There is no new single (43,779)
by Isabelle from USA
| |
These songs are being released to showcase the album. There is no individual single that will be released for right now. Lambs and others are missing the point of the strategy. The point is to lock up more album pre-orders by stalling a singular digital downloads, and the strategy to drive up album pre-orders is working.

Million Dollar Bill (43,778)
by Maurice from USA
| |
I love both song choices from Mariah but I believe that Thirsty has more crossover potential. YDKWTD sounds like Whitney Houston Million Dollar Bill. It's a great song but that song didn't do well for Whitney and I feel the same way about YDKWTD. I believe after the album release Mariah will release Thirsty as the single. I hope she is taking this time to slim down a little for the video. For the video I would like Mariah to make fun of herself. The song is called Thirsty so show the world how Thirsty you have been to remain relevant. Like always having your breast out, being ultra sexy, refusing to act your age, and playing the diva role. It would make the video funny and make her more relatable. On the day the video is released she should release a maxi single for Thirsty. With 5-6 remixes all re sung including dance mixes and RnB mixes and to also include the re sung dance remix of Beautiful that we all want. To capitalize the beautiful dance mix will be album only so you will have to buy the complete maxi single to get that song. Price should be between 6-7 US dollars. She can still release YDKWTD to do to pop radio just to see how it would perform. But I'm so excited to get this album. I believe it will be great.

YDKW vs Thirsty (43,777)
by Me.Great from Germany
| |
"YDKW" is a good song, but "Thirsty" would be a better choice for a single. "Thirsty" ist fresh, catchy and reaches the masses, not only the lambs and "90's Mariah lovers". It's too similar to MJ's and JT's single. "YDKW" also reminds me of "I'm that chick". "Chick" also was a good song, but not a good choice for a single, therefore they dropped it. "Migrate" would have done better.

That Grape Juice (43,776)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
Stephen. I totally agree about That Grape Juice. They used to be so nice about Mariah but for some reason Sam has decided he wants to mock her in every post, even positive ones. I've stopped visiting that site because of it. In other news, I visited a beach today as the sun was setting so naturally decided to remake The Art Of Letting Go single cover. It doesn't look like we can add pics on here any more but I posted it on my Twitter @martynhett.

For the lambily (43,774)
by Darryle from USA
| |
Mariah and a lot of other people have said this album is for the lambily and after listening to all the songs we've gotten I get what she means. She's been doing songs for geared for each part of the lambily. Beautiful was for the pop lovers, The Art Of Letting Go was a ballad for lambs who like simple ballads like VOL, YME was a ballad for those who like R&B ballads like WBT, Thirsty for the hop lovers, and YDK is kind of for everyone because you aren't hearing many negative complaints. I feel like this is the reason some songs have had such mixed reviews. The songs are geared so much for one specific type of song that some people are bound to not like it. If the album lives up to the stuff we've gotten so far it could definitely be one of her best.

Thirsty and YDKWTD (43,773)
by Darryle from USA
| |
I have two theories for what she's going to do with these songs. The first is do like Beyoncé and release both songs but to different radio genres. Thirsty to r&b and hip hop and YDK to top 40 pop. If she did this it would boost sales because she'd be doing all genres and getting all types of people to buy. My second one is that she dropped Thirsty because of its mixed reviews. People saying it's about Damizza saying it sound like N***** in Paris. If she did drop it I'm not surprised or disappointed because what we got next was better.

Single or not? (43,772)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
Both the songs are great, and the theories suggesting that Mariah is performing new songs without releasing them to boost album sales. I don't understand why there was an official cover art for Thirsty ready the first time it was debuted? Was it the plan that it would be released as a single but then she decided to instead use the buzz as a way to boost her album? Like someone else mentioned, maybe she will release singles after the release of the album, and if fans have ideas about video concepts Mariah should be open to it because a good video attracts the YouTube views and can really help her achieve a #1 single. Although that might really be hard these days because Beyonce's much hyped lead single couldn't reach #1 even with the help of Jay-z and the weird remix with Kanye.

Two promo singles? (43,771)
by Jono from USA
| |
I wonder (and hoping) that Mariah and her label choose to release both Thirsty and You Don't Know What To Do. Thirsty is totally Urban Radio, and YDKWTD is mainstream/Top 40. This would allow her double the outlet to promote her album. I seriously think YDKWTD will be a summer hit if the label releases it.

I'm confused (43,769)
by Special K from USA
| |
Is Thirsty or YDKWTD the next single? I prefer YDK which is a no brainer in my opinion. That song is refreshing, catchy, has a certain bounce with a pop appeal. Perfect summer jam. Okay, so what was the freaking purpose of releasing You're Mine? What a waste of a good single. . Side bar; I thought the Today performance was good. Way better than the Good Morning performance which was a hot mess.

Singles (43,767)
by G.G. from USA
| |
Thirsty has been out for days now and still isn't available to buy or even view on YouTube/Vevo. These are missed opportunities for sales and views that would count in Mariah's favor. Given the choice of waiting or ripping the song from an online source, a lot of people just won't wait. MC needs to hurry to capitalize on the buzz.

Hello fellow Mariah fans. I am new to the messageboard. I have been a fan of Mariah for a long time and I check the messageboard every day. Mariah can you let your fans pick your next video concept?
