I tried to keep my mouth closed and ignore it, but I couldn't. I'm a peaceful person and I try not to get into these discussions. I can only take so much. Lol.

Lol, I thought the same, but was going to ignore the post. Someone always pops out of the woodwork to blame Nick. Lol and St. Nick has been so quiet. Bottom line is people are always going to be dissatisfied in some way or another, but the blame game is very tired, I agree. I'm glad Nick and Mariah are so happy and blessed with their little family. Family is most important and Nick definitely has Mariah's back.

I was so nervous when the first live show started. I really did think Mariah would be the one late. She proved me wrong. I hope she continues. Who would have thought that the diva of all divas who is notorious for being late could be on time? Lol. I gave her and Nicki a pass when they were both late for one of the auditions, because it wasn't live. Being late for a live show is unacceptable.

Nick and Mariah's career (37,406) by Licia from USA
I wish people would get off of this "Nick is involving himself in her career kick". He can't involve himself if she doesn't want him to. With what she went through with Tommy Mottola, I highly doubt she is allowing Nick to take over her career. If you don't like him then fine, but stop blaming him. Ultimately she made the decision. Same thing can be said about her management team. Do I think they need to do more? Yes, but at the end of the day whether I like it or not it was her decision. It's mighty funny how fans all of a sudden become experts in the music industry. These posts about what she needs to do to get back on the charts are priceless. Lol.

I had a funny Mariah dream last night (37,405) by John from USA
I dreamt that "Obsessed" became a number one hit in 2013. Not only did she get her 19th number 1, she became the first artist in history to have an old song that wasn't a number 1 get to that spot. Somehow we as fans pulled through for her and downloaded the song a million times haha. So random, but I woke up with a smile and thought I'd share with you guys. I do think Mariah is unfortunately past her prime, but I still believe (every pun intended) she has a few more hits in her. She just needs to make good music and get out there.

Almost Home #1 (37,404) by Anonymous from
Mariah Carey's Almost Home from Oz The Great and Powerful deserves to be No. 1, if not Top 10. It's her best song in years, better than Touch My Body and It's Like That. She needs to sing it on AI and get out there and do promotion and meet and greats with radio DJ's and programmers.

Almost Home (37,403) by Anonymous from
Triumphant was a disappointment. Almost Home is an excellent buzz single/song that proved she still has her voice and I'm betting her next studio effort will be billed as the return of the voice or Mariah's return to form. Almost Home has almost 2 million views in less than a week and I've been requesting it on my local radio stations even though the programmers are resistant to Mariah and her music.

Number one (37,402) by George Golden from UK
I think Mariah at this stage should not be looking for another number one song. She should be aiming for number one albums. What makes a number one album? An album with a general theme of ballads and uptempo groovy tracks. We need a masterpiece from Mariah at this piont. An album that is filled with tracks of substance not tracks that are aimed at the top ten, which is full of garbage these days. With an album well produced, the singles will progess naturally and take of. Almost Home is a great return to form for her. With ballads that have an edge and are innovative her voice will soar. I heared an album cut title "Hope street". I hope it's included, because it feels like something great. I feel we as fans are a bit too hard on Mariah. We are the first to critize her and take sides with people that go against her. Don't get me started on Nicky.

Almost Home (37,400) by jaker20 from US
MC's management does not care about her, nor is she surrounded by artistic, inspired and creative people. She is surrounded by Randy and her husband, who unfortunately gets involved in her career way too much. Nick really doesn't have the resume or talent to be doing so. Oh by the way, Allmost Home is a great song. The song received great reviews and it fits right in to current pop radio. In fact, many of Rihanna's fans accuse the song of sounding like Diamonds. I don't think it does, but you get my point. What you are probably trying to deny is this, Triumphant, and Almost Home were supposed to be lead singles that never was, because they failed. But they were meant to be buzz songs. How many more will she release because you guys get it. She needs new management, she cannot manage herself. I know some of you are apathetic because there's feeling here that she is over, that times have changed, that she doesn't fit in. I disagree. A great song is a great song. Talent is talent. We learned that from Adelle. Mathew: it is very fair to compare JLo's success to MC's failed song. JLo did not perform the song until after the song was already taking off everywhere. Also, the fact that its a dance song ft. Pitbull does not guarantee the massive success it had. There's lots of ft. Pitbull songs and JLo also had a lot of dance songs that flopped. The song was a massive hit because her team shrewdly hyped and managed the song, and JLo smartly used her visibility on AI to her advantage. She was super likeable on the show, even though she does not even deserve to judge because of her lack of vocal skills. That alone, being able to change people's perspective on you, says alot. That's because she's with a very good team of people and management.

American Idol (37,398) by Nattalie from USA
You all know I love Mariah and I think her advice and thoughts are right on point. Keith Urban needs to get off the show. His comments are the worst and non helpful. Randy Jackson is right on point too along with Mariah. Now Nicki, I'm shocked that I love that girl. I really do. She brings life to the show and she is funny and cute and loveable. Her character is very warm and she seems fun to be around. She is my type of people. I also love her realness and not afraid of saying anything no matter how crazy it sounds, like the waffles. I do that same thing by the way and it has to be aunt jimmima syrup too. Have you all ever had fried chicken and waffles? It's the best thing ever.

Mariah (37,397) by Danny Cedar from uk
I feel fans or say lambs (I'm a lamb) are being a tad judgemental in Mariah and even each other. First of all, this is just opinion based, Mariah Carey is a household name, her name alone raises anything to high profile because of who she is. I doubt the AI team care who has better judging style. People will tune in and see Mariah Carey hence x amount of millions. Secondly, I think she is presenting herself well on Idol and is candid and enjoyable to watch. Compared to some more abrasive comments, Mariah has found a place in judging style and what would be the point in her being the opinionated one when there are already a few on the panel she makes her point and she does give valid opinions and puts the contestants at ease after negativity cast their way. Thirdly, Almost Home is a great song and suits a Disney movie like Oz. It's sang beautifully, catchy and should please the media eg Perez. I think lambs should have an opinion, but remember Mariah is human and her babies are more important than her career, saying that the album is going to be amazing.

In AI on time (37,396) by Gerome from Canada
I love that Mariah is almost always on time in AI tapings and even on the live shows. She's truly a professional and is pretty serious about taking on this job. I just laugh every time NM gets late. It just shows what kind of person she really is. So far, Mariah is being very optimistic on all of her comments. She knows how hard it is for newcomers to be accepted in the music business right now. I love her judging style and the Mariahisms that she adds at the end of almost every comment. Hahaha. Amazing.

AI (37,395) by Ryan from the Philippines
Kudos to Mariah for wearing something right tonight, I mean, less cleavage, though dad still noticed them girls inside lol. And also for her spontaneity in commenting the contestant. Glad to hear less of ''uhm's'' and I so love the diva-ish comment "the reason I didn't stand up is that my skirt is too tight". Haha.

Mariah World Music Awards (37,394) by Andrew Lo from Philippines
I am very bothered. Since when did the World Music Awards become about fans voting? It has to be very certain that it should be based on sales alone. Otherwise, it's AMA-wannabe. Arggg, MC is nominated for 5 awards and she's against all possible names all over the world. That sounds creepy. Hahaha what a joke. Hahaha, I am irritated.

Mariah Carey's career in 2013 (37,392) by Badr from USA
We should be more concerned about the quality of her music. I'm, too, a bit disappointed that her last singles have performed poorly. I don't think MC actually thought "Triumphant" had the potential to be a hit. The song sounds too urban for the pop market. "Almost Home" does have that commercial potential but, for some reason, it doesn't seem to be taking off. "AH" seems to take little advantage of the Disney association, and IDJ is simply not interested in Mariah anymore. She urgently needs guidance, a new management team; Randy Jackson is much more concerned about Idol than anything else. MC's a talented artist, whereas she wears the singer, songwriter, or record producer hat, and there's still interest in the media. I hope she comes back more mature to contrast with the legion of trashy, bubble-gum, idiotic music acts that dominate the charts nowadays. I would find it a bit depressing to see a 40+ year-old singing nonsense tunes that aim to attract teenagers or people with bad taste. Mariah is focused on her music. I noticed she lost interest during the E=MC2/Memoirs eras. As for AI, I wish she uses it as a platform to promote her music and leaves that sinking-boat soon. I can't discuss her performance on the show, because I don't watch it. On the same note, the feud, whether real or staged, might be detrimental for her image. I'm not the hardcore fan I used to be, but I must admit I enjoyed "Triumphant" and "Almost Home" and look forward to listening to her new music.

Mariah on Idol (37,391) by Stacey from USA
I haven't read the article in question. I've only watched Idol a few times up to this point. I mainly wait until the finalists are chosen before I start to watch. It's always been that way for me. However, I've watched a bit more with Mariah being on the show. I have to say she's done a pretty good job. She really tries to critique their voice. I mean, nobody knows better about vocals than Mariah, lol. And I like the fact they put her last. When she was the first judge to comment, sometimes her style got overshadowed my Nicki. Honestly, NM bugs the heck out of me with her "how you doing" Joey-ish question to the contestants. Idol is so yesterday. Ratings are dropping. I would be really surprised if they bring the show back for a 13th season. X-Factor is tanking too. Time will tell.

Mariah, the judge (37,390) by TJ from Norway
I watched the sudden death episodes and I think Mariah gave great feedback. She didn't make silly jokes, but to me she was mature and professional.

Easily influenced by the media (37,389) by RadChad from United States
Wow, it's amazing how some of you guys allow yourselves to be spoon fed biased hypocrisy from the media and are quick to jump on the negative bandwagon regarding MC. How in the world the hater that wrote that tacky article and some of you can muster up the audacity to come down on MC for jokingly using the phrase "I can't even know what to say" and then praise Nicki Minaj when she has made countless ridiculous statement through the entire season. SMH. Some of you Mariah fans, I tell you.

What will Nicki do? (37,388) by RibbonB from USA
Lol a friend posed this question. What will Nicki do after idol? Lol In all honesty Idol should have ended a couple of years ago. Hiring Mariah would have been a good way to end the show after this year. I actually hope Mariah leaves, in fact I wish she hadn't taken the job, but it was cool before the brought in the clown. But after Idol, Mariah will still be the great Mariah Carey. Nicki will be long past her 15 minutes. I only watch Idol because MC is on it, but I disagree with that previous noted article, that says that these shows are all about the judges. Seriously, if the singers suck, then the show sucks. Idol is known for keeping silly types on for so called entertainment. Some of it is funny like Zoanette, or clownish like Nicki, but none of that is why I actually watch singing competitions.

Judges BS (37,387) by RibbonB from USA
The author of that article is obviously a clown Minaj fan, saying nothing that her fans haven't already said. But they immediately contradict themselves, first admitting there is the nice one, the tell it like it is one and the icon. Well Mariah is the icon. She made it clear from the beginning that she was there to mentor. The author of the article is as rude and dismissive of Mariah as Minaj is. Mariah is showing that she has risen above all the BS, despite all the continued provocation. If people like Nicki's self absorbed style, whatever, but so far the ratings have been down from last year's. If Idol wanted Nicki they should have hired her instead of courting Mariah all those months only to try to use her. Welp, who's using whom? Idol is showing their desperation in hiring Nicki and she show's desperation of a non-singer to be relevant on a singing show.

Mariah on Idol (37,386) by Gilbert from USA
Hey fans, I just want to put in my 2 cents. I didn't think I was going to be a viewer of the show as often as I thought I would. I actually enjoy it. I'm not a fan of Nicki, but I do enjoy her judging techniques. I laugh when she says silly things and who cares, she is being who she is. She isn't afraid to get boo'd and if she does, she handles it in her own way. With Mariah I have mixed feelings. I think Keith gives awesome feedback, it makes me feel confident in him, because it makes me feel like he knows what he is talking about. So back to Mariah, when it's her turn to speak, she doesn't really have much to say (because Keith usually gives the best critic). In the back of my head I think of it like this, she may be afraid to say how she feels when it comes to negative feedback. I think she did get a little boo'd when she did a small critic on Lazarro if I'm not mistaken. So I don't know if she feels she will lose fans by giving a negative comment, I think it's okay to give negative feedback because this will make the contestants work harder. There are times I wish she would actually say that was a boring performance, or you didn't keep my attention during the song. I only say this because there are certain singers that I routing for and they have some not so great song choices. I just think she can give a little bit if tough love and she should know it's okay to give negative feedback, everyone can't be pleased and I think she can do better. Enough of my jibber jabber. Lol.

Interesting (37,385) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I'm not trying to start a massive debate or fuel any fires or anything, I just think it is interesting to see the comments on judging styles. Lately it seems the consensus seems to be the because Mariah keeps her commentary positive for the most part, she's not doing her job, or measuring up as a judge. I can only speak for myself, but I think she's had a nice blend of coming from a technical standpoint as a vocal mentor, while always making an effort to find something constructive to say in relation to performance, stage presence and song choice ect. I knew going into this that Mariah would view her role as a that of a mentor, because that is her personality with this type of situation. As this group of rookie singers move forward in this business, they will get plenty of exposure to those who will dissect every move with a fine tooth comb. As much as there is a place for that and all the potential growth that it offers people on their journey in the business, I think there's also room for the voice of mentors who emphasis the positive too. I don't think it minimizes or damages the credibility of what Mariah has to say. She's able to give feedback, she just doesn't phrase it as bluntly as "That sucked." Still, it's pretty clear when something needs fine tuning from her respnses. Just my 0.2 for what its worth.

Judge the judges (37,384) by Andrew from UK
Having just read this article, I pretty much agree with its entirety. I can see why Mariah doesn't want to be too negative, however I believe the producers will want more for their money. Using of the cuff "Mariah-isms", such as "I can't even know what to say" really doesn't cut-it when she's being paid $18 million. I'm sure Niki is being paid much less, yet she appears to gives greater responses. I have a bad feeling about the way this is all going to go. In a similar way to her Virgin records deal, she may come out of this financially well, it just may not have been the best career move I feel. Ahh well, roll on May and the new album.
