Re: Article: Mariah Carey confirms autobiography (88,815) (88,820) by Licia from USA
As much as I love reading, I'm going to wait until you all buy this and then give me a summary. I already know she's not going to discuss the things I want to know about such as her vocal issues or what happened to make Morgan turn on her. I'd rather not waste my money or time reading the fairytale, watered down version of her story that we've heard since her debut.

Hey Randy once again I agree with what you said so, I won't challenge you. Although not totally with the order of the albums. Top 4 definitely are my top 4 too but I have to bring Rainbow down by a notch or two and bring Glitter up a bit together with TEOM. The rest is cool with me.

Feeling A Caution Remix EP (88,817) by Bobby A from United States
I wish MC would drop several Caution remix EPs over the 4 months for the summer. I would like them in this order:
1. Giving Me Life
2. 8th Grade
3. One Mo Gen
4. The Distance
5. Caution

Re: MIAMTEC and Caution (88,811) (88,816) by Dove from United States
I'm 35 (will be 36 late next month) and I've been a fan from the start. I first saw VOL on MTV on our wooden console TV when it first came out. My aunt recorded it for me and I would watch it over and over. I would wear a long sleeve black body suit with black stirrup pants and do all the hand movements and (try to) sing all the words. My love for Mariah has only grown since then.

Disclaimer: Just because an album is near or at the bottom doesn't mean I don't love it, because I love them all, but something had to end up at the bottom. But for example I love Rainbow better than anything by Taylor Swift. All of Mariah's albums are great. My list changes every year but right now it looks like this:

01. Merry Christmas
02. Daydream (1995)
03. MIAMTEC (2014)
04. Butterfly (1997)
05. Music Box (1993)
06. E=MC2 (2008)
07. The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)
08. Glitter (2001)
09. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009)
10. Emotions (1991)
11. Mariah Carey (1990)
12. Caution (2018)
13. Merry Christmas II You (2010)
14. Charmbracelet (2003)
15. Rainbow (1999)

Which would you bet on her autobiography being: sensational or boring, sanitized or gut-bucket, victim or victor. I can't call it. Aretha's was interesting, but the unauthorized biography was wow and very sad. Aretha opposed her biography, but never sued. I hope Mariah's will be more music based than tabloid fodder. I bought JD's autobiography at the dollar store, obviously on deep discount. His was boring as I'm not a fan off his music outside of Mariah's. I kept hearing his voice as I read it and that grates the nerves.

Caution has never been a trait I associate with your posts. But, if it is Number 5 for you, at a guess, the rest of the top 5 read as: 4. Delusion 3. Faux positivity 2. Passive aggressiveness and 1. Dishonest.

MIAMTEC and Caution (88,811) by Randy from USA
I just can't do this with you all. If you all think that these two albums are among her top three please post that fact and your age. There is no way I believe a MC fan above 25 years old would believe that. So challenge me. I am 39 and think they are the worst MC albums by far. Here's my ranking and I really didn't mean to start a list war, because I know veterans and die hards on this board hate them, but Caution in the top 3 makes me want to vomit up my Thanksging dinner from November. Here goes the best MC albums of all time:
1. Butterfly (1997)
2. Daydream (1995)
3. Music Box (1993)
4. Mariah Carey (1990)
5. Rainbow (1999)
6. Merry Christmas
7. The Emancipation of Mimi (2005)
8. Charmbracelet (2003)
9. Glitter (2001)
10. Emotions (1991)
11. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009)
12. E=MC2 (2008)
13. #1s (1998)
14. MTV Unplugged (1992)
15. Merry Christmas II You (2010)
16. Caution (2018)
17. MIAMTEC (2014)

I love books and autobiographies. I have an old book about Mariah which is called "The sensitive star". Can't wait to read her autobiography.

That's cool. I guess it's really a long time ago since her mum was seen in public. I always like to read your posts, you have such a positive energy. That's rare today. I'm sure you'll enjoy Mariah in concert next Friday. Please share your concert experience on the board. So have a good time.

Re: For The Record appreciation (88,800) (88,807) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Mine too. That song has something special, only Mariah can create this mood on a song. I also heard it first at her perfume commercial and when it was on the album I was so happy. I wish they would have released "For the record" instead of "Bye Bye". It sounds modern but still classy Mariah with that dreamy tune. it.

Patricia Carey at NYC concert (88,804) by Brad from USA
Hi all. I'm getting excited for the CT concert next Friday. Yup, 'lil excited, gotta say. I saw pics from the Radio City concert and was just so surprised and happy to see a pic of Mariah's mom, Patricia, seemingly in attendance at the show. One never really knows what is going on with people (especially health-wise as they age) but it has been a while since she has been seen I think. Once a momma's kid, always a momma's kid and that's heart warming to see from our MC. I can relate. I'm glad she was able to attend. God's miracles, mercies, graces and blessings to all.

Wow, stunning news, according to several news reports, all charges against Jussie have been dropped. There is definitely more to this story than we may ever know.

Re: Mariah, Damizza, the car (88,798) by Dove from United States
I've had people get out of moving cars on me twice. The first time was a drug addicted kid who I was taking to a military school type place for troubled youth. The second time was my drunk aunt was was not ready to leave the club yet. I went to pick her up after being alerted she was acting like a fool and falling over drunk. Both times I highly doubt they were trying to end their life. I think they just weren't thinking and really didn't want to go where I was taking them. They were hurt but they didn't die. Not sleeping for many days is almost like being very drunk.

Not that I'm judging her if her thoughts ever did become that dark. I had a moment of not wanting to live once. A long time ago I read somewhere that suicide is more often an act of anger than an act of sadness. Not sure if that's true but looking back I think for me it might have been. I'm embarrassed to say but it was over a guy. It was so many mind games and I was already going through a lot at the time. On top of an underlying depression I've had since middle school.

My ex-husband and I had just separated (the first time) and I was seeing the other guy (who the song The Roof reminds me of). Also, my ex-husband and his bully of a father were not making it easy for me to walk away. They would call me (what felt like) hundreds of times a day threatening me and belittling me and my family. The dad called my aunt (the one from earlier in this story) and my mom to bully them. He called my aunt's work and tried to get her fired. It was awful. They threatened to take my son and never let me see him again. And constantly called me a whore because I was dating someone else.

Then on top of that, the guy I was dating (and was in love with) was playing mind games. It hurt so much and I just wanted it all to be over. That day I got to my breaking point, my young son walked in the room and I snapped out of it. I thought "I can't die, who will love and take care of this kid like I will?" He saved my life. I'm sharing this story because I've been so sad, angry, and frustrated that I just didn't feel like I could do it anymore. I know people have been through way worse than this but sometimes our minds can be very fragile. This was a long time ago but things have gotten a lot better and today I'm glad I'm still here.

Re: MIAMTEC (88,785) (88,797) by Dove from United States
Yeah, that's probably why I like MIAMTEC more. I love Caution too, though. I'm just surprised when people say MIAM was not good because it's top 3 for me.

For The Record appreciation (88,796) by Licia from USA
I love, love this song. I'm at work listening to this one song back to back. I'm pretty sure my coworkers want to shank me. Lol. My second favorite from E=MC. I was so happy that it turned out to be a full song after I heard a clip of the song on one of the perfume commercials. She talked so much crap on the bridge. That part makes the song even greater to me. I know I can't be the only one who enjoys this one. Lol.
