Re: Article: Mariah works out wearing fishnets and stiletto heels (72,113) (72,128)

Here's the dead giveaway that Mariah's team is encouraging her to broadcast these overly provocative stunts, all the while laughing at her behind closed doors: Have you noticed that no one in her traveling circus ever really wears any provocative clothes? They all dress pretty conservatively. I even have to give Stella her props that she dresses like a grown woman with kids. If dressing sexy is so fun and empowering, why isn't anyone else doing it besides Mariah? If it was really all the rage, then her whole crew would do it. Just because they are on the payroll doesn't mean that they don't ever look at Mariah's actions and find them laughable and ridiculous. Who's to say that they're not really laughing at her rather than with her and put her antics on social media for their own petty entertainment? It's not that far-fetched. Mariah has a hard time distinguishing between people laughing with her and laughing at her. We all know that she's run with "jokes" for years that 98% of people have officially declared unfunny. I don't believe that she's being manipulated anymore. I would put money on it that this workout outfit was Mariah's idea and they just let her run amok. She probably was being manipulated initially when they joined her team because their values were so different from the ones Mariah held for years, but now she's taking this stuff and running with it independently. I think a side effect of Mariah's unstable childhood is that she has no stable sense of self. She changes the way the wind blows. She becomes whoever she's around. I've noticed that since Stella's come on the scene she has no problem openly cursing way more, smoking weed (and going into a weed dispensary with a child for that matter), drinking at every opportunity and generally doing things that would've been completely out of character for her in the past. I also know that when Mariah is emotionally struggling, the telltale sign is that she starts acting like a complete weirdo. It's always been the way she cries for help. During the divorce, her weird "help me" antics were going everywhere (including the subway and playground) with ballgowns on, wearing fingerless gloves that didn't match her outfits and her legendary Jamaica performance when she was higher than a kite. We all know that she was also acting strange during the Glitter era and she's acting strange now. She's always been the type to create some alien-esque alternate universe to help her cope when she's struggling with an emotional problem. Sometimes it makes me wonder if she has a legitimate mental illness (I'm not trying to diagnose her, but it's not wrong or evil to have questions) or if this is a normal, albeit rare coping mechanism. As an outsider looking in, I think she feels nothing anymore, not happy, not sad, just numb and all of these nonsensical and disjointed antics are a reflection of someone who is going through the motions, no longer acting out of inspiration or motivation, but doing things just to do them. Her attitude to me is "f*** it, I've tried to do all of the right things and it ultimately hasn't worked out for me, why should I even bother anymore?"

I haven't watched the video. So from most of the posts here the video is most of the same stuff we've been getting since her last few videos. So I didn't miss anything. Anyway I hope all the dramatics pushes I Don't up the charts. That seems to be the goal. Gone are the days when her talent actually sold her music, but what do I know? I'm just a goat pretending to be a fan for 27 years. Lol.

Oh wow, that's such a great idea. Mariah's fans comes up with the best promotional ideas for Mariah honestly. I've seen stuff on instagram promoting "I Don't" which are neater and much better than the official campaigns.

According to YouTube, directed by Mariah and Stella and MC are co-executive producers. Never have I seen a manager so over involved in their client's work. Stella is like she wants every darn position available. Bet she's lobbying to be the next love interest. Hope Tanaka pulls a betrayer move and gets Mariah to leave Stella haha, look at me setting the plot for a soap opera.

It really is addictive. I've been playing it a lot, I didn't play "Infinity" or "Infamous" half as much. They apparently sent a radio edit to radios without the rap, I hope they make it available for download too and praying on some re-sung remixes, come through Mimi.

Nope it's different. This is her Halloween dress. This is the red dress she wore for the video. I was looking for a better picture, but couldn't find one right away.

Gwen Stefani, Tori Amos and KD Lang would be it. Last Madonna and only album I bought was an 80's/90's greatest hits and that was nearly 20 years ago. I can't really think of any of Mariahs 90's contemporaries who are doing much at all.

I wasn't sure if I would see anything more awkward than #Beautiful, but then came YME and then this hideous mish mash of the worst of both of them. The song is good but the video is atrocious and she looks terribly uncomfortable doing it. Was it directed by Stella because surely no professional director could come up with this abomination.

Right? And how does that help Mariah's image? If Stella really cared, she would've had Mariah do a giveaway to a deserving bride who couldn't afford to purchase a wedding dress like Evelyn Lozada (Basketball Wives) did after she divorced Chad Ochocinco. It would've been a great promotional tool and it would've showed the public that Mariah still has a good heart.

The first time I heard I Don't, I thought, "Ok, not too bad, it's got a nice cool 90's vibe." Now, I find myself surprisingly getting addicted and loving the song. Side bar. Saw Ms. Ross in concert last year. She was simply amazing. I about died when she sang Touch Me In The Morning.

Agree. I have been very sad also, and very angry, especially that Mishka took that gym ass photo and proudly post it, and Stella also post it n writes "you're welcome America" underneath it on Instagram. It's sickening how this mother-daughter team promote a legend in such trashy way, and keep brainwashing MC that she should dress n take photos like this. I have been here on MCArchives every day for almost 20years. Back then a MC album release is the biggest event in my life, once class is finished I would rush to the CD store to buy a copy, sit and listen to the whole album, read the booklet, treasure it as a piece of art, her and her music uplift me, inspire me. These recent months I find myself full of negativity and sadness after I read her news and photos. It's horrifying, my whole body feel sick, and I don't understand. What's with the middle finger, f word, excessive alcohol, fishnet every day and "my schedule doesn't allow me to get married" when the guy had proposed a few different dates for the wedding? What was she so busy about when she'd achieved so much in the past 27 years that she can't hire a wedding planner and take out a week to get married? I am afraid when MC leaves this world, her money will go to Stella and her daughters. It's like she is brainwashed to agree to do whatever they wants, when she should put Roc n Roe first.

Wedding dress (72,110)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|

Stella has leaked to TMZ that Mariah burned the real 250,000$ custom Valentino she got made for her wedding to Packer. That couldn't be furthest from the truth, her real wedding dress was a very light blush pink with embellishments all over. The dress she burnt is completely white and it had those detachable frock skirts. Not only is the color and material different (and no embellishments on the video dress) the skirt is also different. So who are they fooling really? I don't get Stella's obsession with Packer. Did she try to make a move on him and he rubbed off her blush in retaliation and that's why she's now after him so hard? Or did he tell her she really needs to wash her leather jacket once in a while if she plans on wearing it everyday because it's stinking up his boat?

I Don't (video and song) (72,107)
by Hilton from USA
| |
|

I like the video and I also really like the song. It's simple, to the point, and the hook is super catchy. Mariah Carey is not doing the same type of music she was back in the 90s. Too bad, so sad. She's said repeatedly that she loves and grew up on R&B music. Period. She's in control and she's gonna do what she wants. She has been for years now. Side note. It's pathetic and sad to see so many people using social media to bad mouth this woman. If you all were face to face with Mariah it would be a different story. What did this woman do to you personally to attack everything she does. Tough love is tough love but hating, negativity and down right disrespect is another thing. Grow up. None of you all are perfect and neither is she. Everything this woman does gets ripped apart. If the tables were turned you all wouldn't like it. Anyway, I'll go back to bumpin the new song. I love it. Job well done MiMi.

Yes. Wth. I'm going to listen to "One Sweet Day" and "I am free". Lyrics deep from the heart, so emotional. I wish Mariah would make a song with Ed Sheeran or Sia. The rapper on "I don't" sounds really boring. So maybe it makes sense that he "represents" Mr. Packer.

Article: New video is glam, glittery and a huge middle finger (72,104)
by Andrew from Australia
| |
|
|
Is this music video about a woman going through heartbreak? Or a photo shoot with lingerie? This video reminds me of Beautiful - in fact, most of her recent videos are very similar - the hair tossing and the posing in risque positions. She sings about being treated bad and also categorically stating that she's not coming back. Hang on a minute - he dumped her and I don't think he wants her back, not when her manager is still around. So she burnt the wedding dress... how about the engagement ring? Was she treated badly? I guess we will never know but some of the clips in her docu series would have given some hints (eg the manager and the dancer).

Hmm NY and Mariah belong together. A lot of famous people who came from New York said they couldn't get happy in L.A. or at least never felt comfortable there. I can only imagine that it is a big difference to live in L.A. Didn't she say in an old interview when she were with Nick in California that she misses NY?
