I can't, it seems like they heard us, Mariah is freaking filming a holiday Carpool Karaoke with James Corden for real. Mariah looks good.

By capitalizing on it I just meant that she could have publicly endorsed the song at least once and it might have given her a little popularity boost. Of course she will be profiting from it financially (and awards-wise since she's now nominated for a Soul Train award) regardless.

Instead of a Christmas version, I would like one which features her non holiday songs and then AIWFCIY as the final song.

So there hasn't been one for a long time. Who here thinks we should lobby to have MC go back to do a Christmas version in time for her shows and TV series coming up? That would surely get some healthy views.

He just used a couple lines from her song. Artists gave to give credit and pay whatever licensing but I don't see it as a missed opportunity unless she actually had some kind of association with him. It would have been a stretch had she tried to claim more. Mariah has sampled and interpolated lots of other artists' music with no more than the required mention. No need for her to be that thirsty. He is too young and too new for her to have been trying to grab a feature IMO. Lord knows she already has invested too much time and effort trying to feature lesser acts on her own music. I think it's great if she gets a little bump with no extra time or effort. Bobby womack and others cashed in big time with no extra effort at all on We Belong Together. Just another perspective.

When I was 17 I listened to the Emotions album at night with only red lamps in my bedroom and it was just spiritual somehow.

"The Wind" (67,400)
by Billy from Greece

Ditto for "The Wind". The first minute before the whole orchestra kicks in is unreal. The subtleties in her instrument are unprecedented. "The pain is gone, gone with the spirit in your eyes." Listen to how she reads "gone" in two totally different ways within the same sentence. This is a song that truly showcases her impeccable qualities as an interpreter of lyrics. Say what you want, the woman has created a legacy that will last forever.

I'm giving "Emotions" a spin after a while and, oh my, am I hearing a little bit of "Cry." in "And You Don't Remember" (or vice versa)? Aw, sweet.

I'd add I Am Free to the list. If she does make a gospel album I hope she works with Loris Holland.

Yes she has a great understanding of gospel and has many gospel flavored songs that aren't necessary gospel in content. Now I'm thinking she should also give us "Introspectiveriah" on the gospel inspirational album, so that we could also have songs like... 1) Vanishing 2) The Wind 3) Looking In 4) Close My Eyes 5) Petals 6) Twister That would make the perfect blend.

Mariah has a lot of gospel influenced tracks (Outside, If it's over, ABMBB, etc). Yet, I believe these songs are not necesserly gospel songs. I like the fact that her understanding of gospel is so diverse. I would say her gospel tracks are : - There's got to be a way - Make it happen - ATYNAF - Oh holy night plus 2000's version - Jesus, What a Wonderful Child - God rest ye merry gentlemen - One sweet day - I am free - Butterfly - Thank God I found you - Through the rain plus remix - Fly like a bird - I wish you well - 100 percent - The first Noel - One child - O come all ye faithfull - Heavenly When you think about it... Vision of love.

Originally when I saw the Charmbracelet era interview, I really thought Mariah was attempting to silence the interviewer who clearly wanted to stir the pot. As in, "ok next question". Does anyone else get that too?

Jennifer lopez should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as an icon, singer, songwriter. Its like comparing Aretha Franklin to Taylor Swift.

The only JLo's album I've listened more than one time was "Como ama una mujer". But only because I am learning Spanish. I've listened to A.K.A. once. I won't isten to it again. Mariah needs much more stronger promotion and guidance or mentoring. She is achieving best commercially and artistically hen she has some strong father figure nearby and there is no leach trying to get all the attention. Not so many people believed in her before The Emancipation. P.S. I hope one day she will explain what exactly happened between her and her previous label during the time MIAM was released.

Why should Mariah compromise her integrity and personal artistry to match up JLo as the article states she will try anything to see what sticks even if that means stealing from others. Mariah will always do what Mariah do and change is welcome.

I hope you're not talking about changes towards the EDM "ish". My wish is that Mariah will release a jazz-oriented album. Or maybe some record that will bringing back the Motown golden years? Or can you imagine songs like The Roof, So Blessed, Underneath The Stars and maybe some modern yet still classy R&B track (e.g. Dedicated) put together on one album? She does not need to prove anything, she should let her imagination work. Furthermore, she has always praised the Hip-Hop culture, but there is no album in her discography showing love for this stuff - I mean without schmaltzy and cheesy ballads. I love them all, but they're over 80% of her catalogue. I love MIAM so much because she delivered two songs that are one of the best uptempo recordings in her career.

Thank God Mariah finally got round to releasing the Christmas shows, I have had to change my flights from the UK to make sure I see it a couple of nights at least. I got my ticket for the Tuesday night show and holding back to see if there is any extra dates towards the end of the week. Also, great to see that Mariah's World is starting to be advertised on TV here in the UK - it certainly is going to be a Happy Mariah Holiday this year.

I wish Mariah noticed that. Eric Bellinger also sampled Break Down in his song "Make Up For It". Mariah's done her fair share of sampling too like Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall" in "I'm That Chick". Jackson 5 "It's Great To Be Here" in "Honey (So So Def Remix)" and The Emotions' "Blind Alley" in "Dreamlover". Just wanted to share since some of these are quite unknown.
