Emotions (39,512)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
That album just shows what an amazing voice MC has. Some of the notes she hits on Emotions and even Make It Happen are simply phenomenal. Even she was surprised Civiles and Cole could get her to sing that high. Till the End Of Time has got to be one of my top 5 ballads. The emotional intensity of that song is unmatched.

I totally agree about Emotions. "Till The End of Time" is my all time favourite Mariah song. Such an underrated track. I love how intense it gets after the middle 8, and the slow fade out at the end. It's just heavenly!

A great album! I'd love her to make an album with the same intensity and maturity in the lyrics and in the emotions.

Mariah Carey cheating with Jeezy (39,509)
by Cheryl Jones from American
| |
|
|
I hate this. This got to be a lie. Mariah Carey has a beautiful family. I just think they want someone to pick on. Well she shouldn't be the one. Maybe she forgot to put her wedding ring on. 40 something is the age where you start forgetting. I hate this because I don't like noone lying on my sister. So Mariah Carey, don't let them worry you, I know you have a very busy life because you don't get to read and answer all your facebook messages. I have about three you didn't answer. Love you always sister.

Out of all MC's albums, that took me the longest to appreciate. I realize the beauty of it now, though. Phenomenal.

That rumor has been around for months on various blogs. The reason it hasnt "spread" is because it's just silly and most people ignore it. Any time MC poses in the studio with a guy, rumors tend to start. MC got much more press and funny comments for her boob selfie to Nick for his birthday.

This new era (39,505)
by Will from Australia
| |
|

I'm excited about the new single and hopefully the album drops soon after. I am also a bit weary about getting too optimistic, as in the past few years Mariah has talked up a lot of her new songs and they've just been average - Triumphant, Bring It On Home, Almost Home and Beautiful. I hope she stays away from auto tune as there was way too much of that on Memoirs and limits those whispery vocals to 2 or 3 individual songs rather than switching into it in parts on every track. This record is so huge for her.

"The art of letting go" is also a song by Mikaila. It was a bonus track on the Japanese release of her self-titled debut album.

Coincidence (39,502)
by Lee from UK

It's funny how these cheating rumours have begun shortly before a single release. Now I'm not saying these rumours are being started by Mariah's team as a way of keeping her name in the news ahead of a big release, but it is a coincidence.

I'm with you. I could care less about a single. She's released three in the last 12 months. I want an album. I tend to like the songs on the albums better than the singles. In addition, record companies are not releasing albums unless the single is hot and I don't want a lackluster chart performance due to the juvenile state of music lovers that contribute to retail and radio to push the album back again. And I've warned this board once, stop beating up on Memoirs. Or else!

Do you believe that Young Jeezy crap? (39,498)
by Lee from USA
| |
|
|
Does she have the time to cheat with the kids, new album, etc? I swear they make up things to drag her name through the mud. But then again, J Lo is pretty much done with her man anyways, so the bloggers don't want to see Mimi happy if their darling isn't. Hell, the last time we saw her with Jeezy was months ago. Nick was not jealous when he responded to it, he probably laughed it off.

New album (39,497)
by David from Australia
| |
|
|
I hope there are some powerful ballads on this album that may go down as classics for MC fans, something which Memoirs lacked for me. The songs are good, but there's not a single song I think is a classic on that album. I liked the fun stuff as well, but there was too much of it on Memoirs. I'd like a good mix of fun and serious songs like Charmbracelet or Emancipation. I also hope she keeps that ghetto talk she's been using constantly throughout the last two albums to a minimum and uses correct wording and sentence structure in lyrics. I know I'll love the album either way and so far everything sounds promising. I'm excited to hear the new single.

These stories / title single (39,496)
by Will from England
| |
|
|
I'd love to know how where they get these stories from. They're getting more and more ridiculous. Am I right in saying that she's only ever released three title singles from albums of the same name? Emotions, Butterfly and TAOLG (if the album title hasn't changed since it was leaked). On the same subject, this single sounds like her most complicated on yet. To me, it's on the same level of TEOM.

New album (39,495)
by OGmattyICE from US

I remember she had originally talked about including one of the American Idol contestants on her album or something of that nature. Is that plan still in effect? Does anyone know? I know she switched up her plan after the injury so at this point I'm just excited for whatever is coming. Mariah is a true professional at what she does, so I will never doubt her.

The art of letting go (39,494)
by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC
| |
|

This is the first time in forever in a day that MC has released the album title track, so I believe she is connected to this album in a good way that she has not been in a very long time. I will not speculate on the song. I will wait until I hear the finished product, but I hope that there is a little bit of something for everyone to relate to including non fans, because in order for this era to pick up and be a success, everything must be in proper working order, from promotion, single choices, videos, and the most importantly her live performances have to be on point. But I have to admit I was not so sure about Jermaine Dupri being her manager, but so far he has proven his worth. But I believe JD consulted his father Michael who is a successful manager in the business.

Forget a single, I'm ready for the album (39,493)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|
|
I'm so ready for this album, I don't even know what to do! I need MC to bring it. I'm not one of those fans that thinks she is incapable of making mistakes. Memoirs just didn't do it for me. I hope that she does a lot of ballads with plenty of belting. I won't be able to take another album that gives mostly breathy vocals. They're beautiful but sometimes there are so many that it sounds like she is being vocally lazy. I'm looking for a Mine Again feel. A single is cute, but will an album follow soon after? She got us excited with #723 so you would think that she would be ready to release the album and not just a single. I'm just going to say it. I love MC, but she has really disappointed me this year. From the American Idol stint to the good, yet forgettable #Beautiful, I just hope she turns this mess around, and quick.

I completely agree. I am super excited to have new music from two of my favorite singers. I love MC and Celine equally. Both fill different musical tastes for me. It will be nice to have new music to rock my new guy too.

The Art Of Letting Go / Ryan (39,490)
by Alex from England

I 100% agree with you on the meaning of the title. I still hope it'll be the album title also, it sounds poetic and beautiful to me and if the meaning she has for it is the same as we have understood, perfect. It does sound like something profound like Butterfly did, but I will not overthink it until I hear the song (and hopefulle one day soon, the album lol), I don't want to be disappointed, I just want to hear the song and listen to Mariah's heart without having preconceptions. "Baby I can hardly wait."

To me, TAOLG is a very good single and album title. Perhaps, some people will initially think it's "cheesy" or worst, "ew" as I read one comment on her Vevo lol. But I think it's like Butterfly, where she used metaphor. You only realize how genius she is once you hear that 1997 ballad to the end. TAOLG to me is like "Art" for music and "Letting Go" for standing up and moving on from the troubles she had in the last 3 years and just being happy and free.

Rashidi Rahim Rick / new single / that interview (39,487)
by Will from England
| |
|

I don't think the album will be out for a while lol. It's just the single that will be released. I must say, I know it was rumoured that there would be a song called "The Art Of Letting Go", and I personally didn't believe it at the time, because to me, I couldn't see how it would fit lyrically. But since it's been confirmed, I'm more excited to see how it goes. This is going to be the longest less-than-a-month ever! As for that interview, I had never heard of the two hosts before so I'm not at all familiar with their show. Is that's their style of interviewing, then ok.
