The verdict is in (36,061) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC I just watched the triumphant video in its entirety. While the storyline was decent, I couldn't help but feel like I was watching any other MC video as of late. As much as I love MC, I am bit tired of the look at me I'm sexy act. Yes, mama looks amazing, but I need a little from her at this point subpar songs and videos will only lead to subpar or no results at all. She is the last of a dying breed and so many are counting her out with this new album our girl better come harder then this if she expects triumphant results. I often see people campaigning for this poll or that stream, but many of them are young on twitter and have the time. All of it is part of the variety in Mariah's fan base. And a lot of that comes into play for any other artist or group's fan base as well. So it actually is a part of the process of getting a hit. Buzz happens in a lot of ways. Mariah listens to her fans and a lot of them do love Triumphant. There are a lot of songs that never make it to number one, but they get lots of airplay. Mariah will be doing great if she can even get this song in decent rotation, considering the way radio is and has been for a few years now. Erykha Badu posted an interesting comment about artists in that tween age of 40. They relate to the younger and older, but strive to get airplay on regular pop or r&b radio and do not want to be considered oldie acts only on oldie formats. The initial push for the new song to get noticed by the general public comes from: 1. the buzz about the new song created by fans through their feedback on music boards or fan boards such as this one, 2. the fans requesting the new song to be played on radio stations they listen to even before/once it's added and played, since the fans are the first ones to know about their favorite artist's new song and 3. the initial sales of the song (big chunk of sales comes from the fans) once it's available for download. And if a fan requests the song on radio or streams the song/video on YouTube or other music/video sites gazillion times and downloads multiple copies of the same song (or "gifts" it to others) on iTunes and other digital retail outlets (because he/she is the ultimate fan - loves and supports Mariah no matter what, has all the time in the world for Mariah, is filthy rich to afford it and is REALLY STUPID to do all these ), it is his/her prerogative as it is your prerogative to support Mariah by just purchasing a copy each of the remixes and watching the magic to happen. A song will not really become a hit by just the support of fans alone. And without the full support of fans, the song will not even have the chance to create that magic you speak of. And as for the quality of the song, it's all relative. Rubbish or not, the new song needs to be heard. (Tuesday 21 August 2012; 1:19)

Making Triumphant a number one? (36,054) by Gilbert from USA I'm not trying to be a negative person, but why not let the song work it's magic on it's own. I've seen people say they want to stream the song over and over and over so it gets up on the charts on Billboard. In my opinion, the song should be a hit on its own, not because we have person(s) buying more than one copy, or listening to the song over and over so it counts on the charts. If it's going to happen, it will do well on it's own. I showed my support to Mariah by buying 2 versions of the dance mix and I left it at that. I guess I just wanted to share a view, unless you're really bored and feel the need to stream a song over and over, then it's your choice. It's probably not doing well for a good reason, not many fans enjoyed the original or club mix or vise versa. If all of us took our precious time to replay the song so it can be number one but the song really isn't that great what does that tell MC? I personally would say let the song be where it's at, if she listens to her fans she will know what works and what doesn't. We can't be afraid to say, this song isn't going to work, lets take another approach and go from there. (Monday 20 August 2012; 20:55)

Triumphant (Get 'Em) video world premiere and airplay update (36,052) by Rod from Philippines I can't wait for the music video premiering tomorrow! I hope the video premieres also on Mariah's Vevo account on YouTube so the stream would count towards Billboard. It would also help promote the single among music buying fans, who are not necessarily fans or lambs and who don't visit her official website, to download it on iTunes, Amazon or other digital retail outlets. As for other good news, Triumphant's airplay has been seeing some slow-and-steady increase in spins on Mediabase this week. It is almost 4 million audience impressions now (a new peak) and more Urban and Rhythmic radio stations have added the track on their playlist. The record label and Team Mariah are also planning to send either the Pulse Radio Edit or Vintage Throwback Radio Edit (or both) to Pop stations in the coming weeks. So, let's keep requesting the song on US radio some more and don't let 'em ever count it out just yet. (Monday 20 August 2012; 17:33)

Geezy, I agree with you about Mariah writing her own lyrics (36,049) by Edward from USA Mariah has produced some really good tracks co-writing with others, but most of her greatest hits she wrote them herself, with maybe the help of only one extra person, but not a whole bunch of other people. She had such chemistry with Walter because he could channel her ideas and melodies through his piano. Even though Walter was there for the music, Mariah wrote most of the lyrics herself. The album Butterfly is a true testament to that. During the late 90's it was good she was team-writing more, but then she came to a point where all tracks in Mariah's latest five albums have been co-written by more than two other people. Most people praised "Languishing" because it sounded like a Mariah track and I believe they said that because it was a track where Mariah sounded more emotional and sincere, like “Looking In”. I still wish she keeps on writing with other people, but I would also like her to trust her writing abilities on some tracks on her own, because in my opinion she conveys more emotion when she does that. Writers (36,047) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC Personally I feel MC's songwriting skills are great as to where she should go back to trusting her own pen again without co-writers as she did during most of the early part of her career. I must admit the MC and JD chemistry is becoming kind of stale. I would like for her to work with a producer that can give her balance between R&B and pop without sounding too dated or too euro pop. His comment was on the breakfast club morning show, you can probably google and find it, if interested. When he was asked about Frank Ocean, he said he liked Frank and did like his CD, but he added the comment about him being maybe "too cool for school". I just take that as he may not be very commercially successful, pop of buzz or not, if the music itself doesn't resonate. (Saturday 18 August 2012; 15:45)

March 2013 (36,045) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom I'll gladly wait until March 2013 to hear new music from Mariah if it means we don't get another single like Triumphant. I suspect Mariah knows she needs to go back to the drawing board and branch out with producers, writers etc. Kind of like when TEOM was pushed back so she could work with JD. However, this time its for the opposite reason. I think JD and Mariah have gone flat, and Triumphant is the latest in a long line of examples of this. Mariah seriously needs to get with the program. I know TEOM had JD written all over it and it was a great album, but some of the standout tracks were produced by Kanye, Big Jim etc, and not JD. Mariah needs to get someone fresh to work with. Working with Q Tip is a step in the right direction. I love old school rnb and hip hop, so I'm glad Mariah is going in that direction. I just hope its more akin to Butterfly/Daydream than anything we've received in recent years. (Saturday 18 August 2012; 12:34)

Album in March (36,042) by Ali from USA I think it's great that MC is holding off on the album. When she has a Spring release (E=MC2 and Emancipation) she seems to do better. Plus the single is not strong and also there are a lot of females dropping albums in the next Fall - P!nk, Leona Lewis, Brandy (yay), Christina Aguilera, etc. In any event, I still can't wait for the Triumphant video premiere. This album also needs a stellar campaign. I know we've all talked about how great the "Return of the Voice" approach was, but honestly with Whitney gone, and Adele having blown up, I think people are longing for great songs with great vocals. Randy doesn't get it. The way you move units like you did in the 90's is you get an across the board smash. Always Be My Baby was played on pop, adult contemporary, and urban radios. Adele's songs hit all formats which is why she saw album sales that reflected that. You don't centralizes singles. A hit song is a hit song. Stations will pick it up. (Saturday 18 August 2012; 0:07)

The world premiere for the music video of Triumphant (Get 'Em) is scheduled on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 as per Mariah's recent tweet. Also, the "big" tv performance we are all anticipating is an hour long pre-game show (with No Doubt) at Rockefeller Plaza, NYC for the 1st NFL game this season (Giants vs. Cowboys). Triumphant (Get 'Em) analysis (36,037) by Rod from Philippines I don't think the original version of Triumphant (Get 'Em) is as bad as some fans, other casual fans and the general public (?), who didn't like it and preferred the remixes over it, would like to make it appear. Most of the feedback received for the original version were negative (too much rap, Mariah was apparently "featured" on her own single, she was again using the "whisper" and not belting much, generic and stale production, cliched lyrics, etc.) while most, if not all, of the feedback received for the dance remixes were positive (reminded fans of the old Mariah dance remixes, nice full vocals, "finally" a Mariah single with just Mariah!, etc.). Yet the original version with rap is currently outselling the dance remixes on iTunes US and worldwide. And eventhough the dance remixes were only released in certain countries so far, that's not an excuse to get 'em digitally and make it legally count towards the sales chart and the main chart. Amazon and other digital retail outlets have the dance remixes too. It's so easy to put the blame on others (rubbish single, lack of promo from Mariah herself, her team and the record label; Mariah being stubborn and not delivering what her fans and the general public would like to hear from her; etc.) for the single's poor chart performance but one thing remains a fact that can't be argued with. That is, the sales figures for the dance remixes still aren't reflecting the rave the dance remixes got when they first premiered. (Friday 17 August 2012; 12:36)

Triumphant CD singles (36,036) by Edge McQueen from Philippines Triumphant promo CD singles are sold in ebay at very expensive prices. Does anyone have any idea when the commercial CD singles come out? I hope IDJ and Universal will release CD singles. They should also consider the CD-buying demographic as most of Mariah's followers grew up in the 90's and 00's when CD singles were mostly sold to promote music. (Friday 17 August 2012; 8:49)
