Re: The Butterfly Lounge: the Atlanta sessions (99,259) (99,260) by T from USA
I really wish she would leave [Butterfly] alone. The one album that is absolute perfection will be tainted. I know everyone is hungry for new music and it is the 25th anniversary but I would rather her just film a new music video to a song on the album. Say Babydoll or Close My Eyes. Although I can picture a track on a re-release so I do know lol.

It was reported on Twitter today that MC confirmed her recording session with Brandy. I am predicting that Butterfly will get released this coming Spring with 5 newly recorded collaborations of Vision of Love with The Clark Sisters, The Roof with Brandy, Babydoll - Timbaland remix, Whenever You Call ft. Maxwell and Outside ft. Tamar Braxton.

Doesn't the song have to stay at number 1 for so many consecutive weeks as apposed to a few weeks here and there?

I don't know him either, just the pop culture references, just like Gaga. Lot's of shock value video moments. But now Gaga is acting like Streisand or something. No more meat dresses and egg shell entrances to awards shows.

Re: Where Are You Christmas? (99,253) (99,256) by Edward from USA
She hinted she would do something with it, as in recording it. In one of those twitter conversations, she was asked about it. She also said there were no leftovers from "Butterfly" sessuibs that's why there wasn't anything from that era on "The Rarities". Probably she was being forgetful about "Where Are You Christmas" and she actually recorded it. According to Wikipedia, she recorded the song but couldn't release it due to a legal case with Tommy.

To be honest, the only thing I know of Lil Nas X is that he dethroned Mariah and that he posted a pic of his pregnantcy, lol. Other than that, I don't know anything about him. I also know that that song that took Mariah's record sucks big time.

Re: Where Are You Christmas? (99,253) (99,254) by Bobby A from United States
There had have been a working tape or demo that guided Faith Hill to sing like MC. I think MC is fooling us about there not being a demo. She co-writes this song with two iconic songwriters and musicians and she doesn't lay down some vocals to their piano playing. I think not.

Re: Where Are You Christmas? (99,247) (99,253) by T from USA
When did she say there's no demo? Last I heard her say during the book promotion was that she has to look for it and then this year she was going to do something with it but then decided to focus on FILAC because she loved it so much.

Most iconic album (99,252) by Bobby A from United States
Butterfly has to be MC's most iconic album, right? We lived for her transformation from a caged pop ballad diva to a R&B hip hop flavored diva. The television performances from the album were so heartfelt and iconic. And talk about the videos from this album, they will be her best videos ever. Daydream has to be right behind Butterfly.

It's only fitting that she should overtake her previous record. Then he could come up with an Old Town Satan Santa remix and take it back. I wonder where he plans to take his career. Will he switch up like Gaga?

Re: I have a feeling (99,248) (99,250) by Warren from Trinidad & Tobago
My thoughts exactly. It spent 3 weeks in one shot already so let's average 2 per year. In less than 10 years we can have the record back. I really hope they don't change the rules again, but sales aren't coming back and streaming is the way forward so the rules may remain. Imagine if she were to hit #1 every year of 2 decades.

I always thought she should star in an Austin Powers movie. She would fit in perfectly, but in a bad way, in that outfit.

I have a feeling (99,248) by Edward from USA
If Billboard doesn't change the rules, I have a feeling that, within a few years, AIWFCIY will eventually dethrone Lil Nas. What do you guys think?

Re: Where Are You Christmas? (99,243) (99,247) by Edward from USA
Sadly, there's no demo, according to Mariah. Listening to Faith Hill, it's evident that Mariah wrote it and maybe even produced it. Mariah best non album/soundtrack collabo to me is "Everytime I Close My Eyes", and she just did background. Had it been a duet, it would've been amazing. I love that song and her input in it.

This song has taken a life of its own. I don't think anyone can stop it going forward. Wether people love it or hate it, it doesn't matter, it's never going to go away or lose its appeal around Christmas time. I personally love it and one of my favorite versions, if not my favorite, is the So So Def Remix. It's just too damn cute and infectious. Sometimes I think the general public just likes to hate on Mariah because they think it's "cool" but they don't realize how stupid they seem. I know Mariah still has some more hits left in her, maybe even another #1. We'll just have to wait and see. Congratulations to her for hitting the #1 spot yet again and breaking more records. She truly is unrivaled.

It's such a beautiful song. I always here [sic] Mariah instead of Faith on my mind. Faith Hill did great with MC's demo. I really hope we could hear Mariah's version from that time. Can't believe it's been 22 years. I remember I went to the cinema (Grinch) and liked the song immediately.

I listened to this song all the way through for the first time. Faith Hill really sung it like Mariah's demo. She captured MC's vocal style from beginning to end. I hope we get the demo next Christmas. It doesn't get very much airplay during the holiday season. WAYC will be 22 years old next year.

It's the plaid pattern design on the pants from 1971 dahling. I thought I was watching a scene from Issac Hayes' Shaft. She looked so better in black boarding the plane.

AIWFCIY hits #1 (99,240) by Special K from USA
Wow congratulations Mariah. AIWFCIY returns to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart extending Mariah's reign on the Billboard Hot 100 chart to 85 weeks. Mariah is still breaking records while some of you over here arguing about her voice. Look there will never in life ever be another Mariah Carey. Enjoy this legendary moment like rest of the world outside this message board.

Hybrid non Christmas/Christmas album (99,238) by T from USA
I had a thought, what would've it been like it FILAC appeared on Caution in 2018? A studio album with one romantic Christmas song to be able to help sell the album. With Cautions release date being in November she could've segued into the holiday season while not abandoning her current project. A song like FILAC would've fit nicely on Caution and just because the word Christmas appears in the song doesn't take away from the general theme of love. ABBAs new studio album has a Christmas song on it as well.

Re: AIWFCIY #1 this year? (99,225) (99,237) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
All I Want For Christmas reached to number one spot this week on Billboard Hot 100 dated 25th December. For your information and to others who doesn't know, this number one is for tracking between 10th December (Friday) until 16th December (Thursday). It means Mariah has another chance to be at number one for another week for tracking between 17th December (Friday) until 23rd December (Thursday) because that is the week of Christmas and everyone would be blasting to Christmas music only. So get ready for another week at number one.

Very unflattering outfit. I'm not sure if it's the pants or the shoes, or the whole thing.
