I also agree with Randy, I feel so blessed to see her almost from the beginning until she peaked, went down and went up again. Perhaps for 10 years now, I do not care as much as I did before about her personal life and music like the new and younger lambs now. I used to be that way lol. I got older, maturer, and knows what truly matters in life. After listening to STD, I was like, okay. The last album I was so into after TEOM is Caution. I believe if it was released in 2011 with proper marketing, no delays, no date changes, etc., it could have been another hit. Don't get me wrong I still adore her. Mariah stays in midnight (95,332) by Randy from USA Stacey, I agree that I don't invest as much time in MC anymore. I know I stick around to see if she does an unplugged one instrument and powerful lyric album a la Jewel or Sarah McLachlan but I think that's gonna happen around the same time Lil Kim starts to melt. I read the article and didn't feel as though she came off any different than she has since TEOM success made her decide to be a caricature of the public's perception. I do want to hear about her family. I do want to hear about the grenade that exploded in her throat in 1997. I do want to hear about being at Sony post divorce and I do want to hear about romance between Tommy and Nick. The sad thing is Bill is right when he says it's not on her brand to write a tell all. And I'm beginning to realize Andrew was right that this memoir is an exercise in vanity. And if you've watched every single US Mariah interview as I have, you already know what's in the book. Which makes me more disinterested in MC as a whole. Guess I'll be sailing off into the sunset after I read the Self-Written Definition of What I Want People To Know And Think About Mariah Carey. She has mentioned that the writing process was very therapeutic for her. Sure we could say it won’t be good for her image but let’s be real, her image with the general public has been in the gutter for longer than the discussion around this memoir will last. Memoirs / the interview (95,329) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia I mean it is about HER life experience and things that had a lasting affect on her. I think it’s rather insensitive to tell someone to just “get over” their traumatic experiences. You are in no place to say such a thing. Period. If you’re so tired of hearing about her life then just stop reading or checking for it then. Very simple. All the contempt filled messages and trolling is so tired now. I'll likely always be curious and have interest in what Mariah is up to. She is one of the only artists I've followed for the entire ride. The extra tidbits and such are added bonuses at this point. I can see why she would want to set the record straight. Overall I'm glad the book has a premise - things that made Mariah Carey. It wouldn't be on-brand for her to do a tell-all. The Carey household just seems so broken. Even Mariah referring to her mother calling the ambulance when she was attempting to kill herself as a "betrayal". I mean what on earth is a mother supposed to do in that situation? Surely now Mariah has her own children she can, more than ever, understand the actions she took at the time, when in a state of panic. Personally I wanted all the family issues to not be addressed and it solely focus on her musicianship, her songwriting, the meaning behind songs, behind the scenes stories as to how her biggest hits came about. Sure, I come here to see what the fans are currently chatting about, but then I move on to more important things. That's not a diss to those who do care more about all things MC. It's just not worth my time anymore. She's achieved a legendary career. The MC30 stuff proves that. I guess at age 42, I simply appreciate the amazing music I've been blessed to hear. Sure there are a few duds, bombs, what was she thinking songs, but those are the exceptions. I chose to focus on the amazing career she has had and the rest of the stuff I can't control roll off my shoulders. (Tuesday 1 September 2020; 03:13)

Also the writer seemed happy with the experience. I think that this is prelude to the memoir, and I am ready to read, and enjoy. And I agree with you that the rags-to-riches story will always be interesting. The parts about her family were touching to say the least. How sad and complicated things must have become for her to refer to her siblings as exes. And I must say, despite having heard her life story in many different forms over the years, the memoirs just might be the ultimate interview we've all been waiting for.
