Tommy Motola (109,152) by Bobby A from United States
Tommy was probably mad when he heard he was mentioned yet again. He still doesn't realize how his lockdown treatment affected MC in their marriage. Trauma is not easy to forget or let go. The lyrics are hilarious and he should be laughing now. MC said she was just playing for Tommy.

I noticed that as well. MC was probably tired or just had studio time or her BET performance rehearsal on her mind. She hasn't had a new single and album promo like this in quite a long time. It has to be overwhelming getting all this love.

Confirmed: Mariah is making history (109,150) by Lambi from USA
I always thought Shake It Off should've been released much later. They didn't really realize how monstrous We Belong Together was going to be. It ended up staying at the top for a lot longer than anyone probably expected. What's crazy though is how Gen Z brought Obsessed back to life. Had Mariah pushed the promotion to the extremes it could've been her 19th #1. It's A Wrap is also another one, it became clear that the song had a lot more potential than people gave it credit for, it deserved way more attention. But my biggest bummer will always be A No No. Such a great '90s homage, and the way she mirrored the beginning of the chorus with TLC's "No Scrubs" was genius. Perfect ear candy. But the label let it fade to oblivion. Such a freaking shame. I was hoping they'd finally do her right after they let With You flop. It's like they missed the mark at every turn.

It almost feels like Mariah is told not to rumble as she is a known rumbler, possibly because speaking at length might reveal cognitive decline. She keeps her answers short, which creates awkward silences that the interviewers scramble to fill. She has literally never been this bad at interviews. I understand it's early in the morning, but it's hard not to notice how little she's giving. It's actually uncomfortable to watch. The interviewers, on the other hand, were clearly trying to make the conversation interesting, despite the challenge. They're obviously not the biggest lambs but they were warm and did their best to work with what they know about Mariah. But it's tough when you're not getting much in return. Referencing this interview by the way. I can still defend Mariah's past quirky moments - like "I don't know where the mf is" or "back up darling, you're killing me softly" or "I bet I don't like this game" LMAO. Even the "no no no no no well you don't wanna hear about 9/11" had its charm. But these recent interviews? It's getting harder and harder to defend. Mariah gurl, what is wrong?

No.1 in global iTunes (109,148) by Shezz from Pk
Don't forget GTFO hit number one on iTunes as well but failed to chart. Streaming counts the most and her numbers there are still pretty low I read on another site. Though that in no way means they can't pick up. Right now the song is only hot with the lambs. It could eventually spread to the masses. So many songs creep their way up the charts as they gain a wider audience. First week numbers aren't everything.

He's got a point to be fair. It's been almost 30 years since they separated. She's gotta shake it off.

I bet it's quite tiring repeating yourself all day, let alone annoying but your [sic] right, you have to put yourself out there, it's her job at the end of the day.

I noticed yesterday watching some radio interview clips - her energy and enthusiasm varies quite a bit depending on the interviewer. She was very animated and enthusiastic for a couple and totally disinterested in the others. If she knows you, has a history with you and you know about her music and black culture, she will be way more relaxed and open. Just an observation, to most of the white interviewers she was a little cold and reserved. Maybe it was just a coincidence that she was not too familiar with them. Anyone else noticed this?

I mean I don't blame her - not everyone can fake enthusiasm for small talk with strangers, but if you're out there promoting your music, wanting them to play your songs, you have to present a friendly front. Or don't go to the ones you don't feel warmly about.

So yesterday I noticed Tommy was posting quite a bit on insta, I didn't think too much about it until this morning I've noticed on his story, he's put a post that says "You gotta know when to S.T.O.P."
Not sure if this is a dig at Mariah or means something else?

Yes Shake It Off is great but she was competing with herself so I'm happy it only got to number 2.

Song length (109,139) by Tony Lorenzo from UK
A few people are saying that the song is a bit too short. Firstly, great. Leaving people wanting more means the song is great.

Secondly, I am wondering if it is purposely short because this song is absolutely ripe for guest rappers. It screams a remix with a verse by one of the hottest rappers out today. I'd love Doechii, or Kendrick, as have been mentioned. Or she could throw back and bring on someone like Brat or even Jay Z. I would not be surprised if someone big jumps on the track. It may not have even been done yet, they could be waiting to see how the song hits, because if it hits big, bigger current artist labels should be more likely to allow their artist to be associated with it.

What I am so pleased about is how what we appear to be witnessing is an intention for a proper Mariah renaissance. This type of narrative is always a beautiful one that makes everyone feel good a legendary artist coming back with more hits after being written off. Mariah doing that twice would be iconic and it would be fitting. Her whole team needs to be laser-focused, willing to put in money, effort and time, and the industry, from the music apps to the radio stations, should get behind her and support this. Not just because it's Mariah but because she had just proven she has still got it. She's done and doing her part.

And all of her fans should be laser-focused too. Push this song on your friends and family, play it on repeat. (You want to anyway. I've almost learned all the lyrics now having been listening to it all day long literally and not because I want it to hit number 1 though duh but because it is a damned good song.)

It's a bit of a weird silly emotion to feel about someone you don't actually know and haven't done anything yourself to aid the greatness, but the overriding feeling I have towards Mariah is pride. I'm happy to have her as my ride or die musician, and she keeps proving me right. I wish her all the success. Universe, Make It Happen. I'd give My All for her to Fly Luke a Bird to the top again. Okay cheese over.

Well she missed out on her last album, but then again. It was just about the lyrics. I'm glad that this song has potential, but I also believe she said some years ago that she doesn't think about how the chats are going.

Agreed. The saddest one is SIO. That song is perfection, was sexy, fierce, clever lyrics, catchy chorus, top notch video, Mariah's revenge era confidence and so much more I'll forever be upset that it didn't get to be #1. Obsessed is another one. It was ahead of its time, it's so viral on TikTok and with the younger generation. Loverboy too was ahead of its time. The pop-y retro style is so in right now, Sabrina Carpenter has her whole aesthetic wrapped around that style. Problem with Mariah she's ahead of times and people only later realize how her songwriting was always 10 steps ahead of the music industry.

New intel (109,134) by Tevin from USA
Thanks for the info. I also heard in her interview that she was recording the album while touring. I'm thinking this all makes sense why she was doing all the lip syncing in concert. Maybe she was obligated to go on tour but she knew it would be too taxing on her voice to sing and record at the same time. It also explains why she may have seemed so out of it. Think about it, mother's illness, then two tragic deaths, growling tour schedule, while recording an album and working on business deals to join an up and coming label. Plus parenthood, health and everything else. Man she was going through a lot. I can't wait to see the success of it all.

"Mariah would wake up and openly call out war on The Beatles." LMAO, Mimi, gurl you're so funny. But honestly, I'd be mad too if I were her. She kept putting out bangers after bangers post Touch My Body, but her series of management just didn't know how to handle it. They really didn't do her justice. At this point, she should have like 25 number ones, including pre-TMB.

I hope she plays a game or has gifts delivered to us with the song title inside to let the Lambs reveal the tracklist. I think MC did this with Memoirs or E=MC2. I knew L.A. Reid asked her to record one more song.
