Favorite 90s singles cover (102,738) by Anonymous from USA
My favorite ones are some of the David LaChapelle photo shoots which included Rainbow and Glitter albums and single covers. Also I think she looks beautiful in all of them but I Still Believe is one of my favorites too.

I think it's because of the makeup and style.

I remember thinking where have the curls gone. Guess it was a just a change of the styles and times, it's strange now when she has her hair curly now I don't think it suits her but I loved it so much back in the day.

You are absolutely right. She also had a classy, still sexy vibe when TEOM was released. I don't know about you guys, but the outfit on the concert the other day, was not good at all.

I remember that I did not like that haircut. I was obsessed by the look on the Hero picture.

So many to choose and so many are great. My faves:

1. Vision of Love
2. Can't Let Go
3. Dreamlover
4. Without You
5. Anytime You Need a Friend
6. All I Want for Christmas Is You
7. Fantasy
8. Open Arms
9. Always Be My Baby
10. Always Be My Baby UK exclusive cover

Of those ten, my absolute best is probably Without You. Maybe Can't Let Go. And Make It Happen.

Mother's Day (102,729) by Lady B from USA
Happy Mother's Day to the queen. It's her most important role and if the love they seem to share is any guide, she's doing it even better than her 19 #1 hit music career. Here's hoping they spoiled her rotten.

I love the image they used for the "Anytime You Need a Friend" single. I wish that song had performed better on the Hot 100. Great song that deserved a better peak charting position.

I think Mariah excels when she looks classy. This is evident in the following single covers:

Dreamlover, Without You, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Honey, My All/Breakdown, We Belong Together, Fly Like A Bird

Dreamlover has always been on top of the list. Joy To The World is probably the second one, and one of those singles cover that people don't remember.

Performance (102,724) by Edward from USA
There are many professional vocal coaches on YouTube who have gone over her vocal issues very respectfully. You can see the concert in their eyes when they analyze some of her performances.

So, how would a vocal coach characterized MC's vocal issues? Maybe a deteriorating range, breathing problems, vocal chords closing up or inability to modulate notes to just sing at all anymore? I would like to know one day. Something is just not right with her voice.

Stopping by to say hi to everyone. I also watched the new performance and yes although it was low energy and she was out of breath at times, she still has a stage presence. We lambs do notice a lot haha but she's getting a lot of love from the general public. They don't care if she's lipping or out of breath. She looked stunning and so young straight out of 2005. But I do think she should lose the corset, it restricts her breathing and I would love to see her move around a bit more. But at the end of the day I am just happy she's still among us, still performing, relevant without publicity stunts and still a legend. I know everyone has their own opinion and that's fine but I think the whole poll/debate about whether she should go through with the nodule surgery or not is absolutely horrible. We don't know what her reasons are and every surgery has a chance of risk. Plus just basic decency we shouldn't be giving out medical opinions. We aren't doctors and we don't even know her medical history.

Good Lord, just enjoy the show (102,720) by MC85 from Canada
You have no reason to apologize jaker20, at least in my opinion. Somehow I continue to feel shocked that the majority of posters on the board here consider themselves fans and claim to love MC and yet exclusively only post complaints, negativity and vitriol.

[...] Either deal with it and continue to be appreciative of her for the joy she's brought you or [...] off and stop spending your time crapping on her. I also wish her voice was in phenomenal shape. I would love a new album. Etc. whatever. She. Is. Human. Most of the posters here however seem to not realize that.

My favorite 90s singles cover is Never Forget You/Without You. I love this cover because of the beige/almond background and MC's innocent pose. What is your favorite 90s singles cover?

New low? (102,718) by "MariahHater" from Hell
What is sad right now is that, what if she has illness and not disclosing it to the world and just enjoying the little time she has left even with bad performances just to be "there". It's hella sad. The OSD performance was sad as it gets as B2M are downplaying their vocals to not overpower dear Mariah. We all know how a hard worker she was in doing her craft. If I were her and experiencing this, I would be frustrated and might kill myself but with her she has all that courage to go on for the lambs and her loved ones until she can't produce a sound anymore.

No need to apologize. Like I said, I'm a huge Mariah fan. I would love to go see her perform in a concert. Even if she walked up to a tape recorder and hit play and let her original vocals play out, I would still be happy to see her. Lol. But I'm also torn because other than AIWFC and maybe WBT most younger people don't know about her and her body of work. We can easily throw around her accolades but most people don't know or frankly don't care. That's why I hate seeing consistent bad performances from her because it overshadows all of the great work that she has done, at least in the minds of most 25 year or younger folks.

I agree Jamie. Do any of you guys remember Leona Lewis? I remember when she was on the [X Factor] and her subsequent two albums that followed, she was belting her head off, with crazy runs and transitions. The media was billing her as being the next Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. Anyway she went from that, to being really pitchy, couldn't sustain belts and having other vocal issues. Though she still doesn't have the same voice as before, she was able to gain quite a bit of her voice back. I can't remember what she had, but she has some kind of disease or illness that caused major vocal issues not to mention body issues too. My point is we never know what goes on behind closed doors. Even though she looks amazing, Mariah isn't getting any younger and more and more health issues can develop, that can effect not only her body but her voice. I mean look at poor Celine Dion. I wish them all love and recovery.

I was taken aback by your original message but hell, I say what I want so you should be able to too. We are a dysfunctional family so it's no need to apologize. I think what's also frustrating to the negatives is that even though Christina Aguilera, Fantasia have lost some range, they still sound like themselves during the verses of their songs and only may struggle or duck the climaxes. MC doesn't even seem to be able to sing her verses. And to add insult to injury, to see Xscape, Chanté Moore and Patti Labelle still burning stages down in the last two years. Yea, I know. I know. MC has nodules, her voice is different, she has nuances in the way she sings, belting is boring as hell, the stage was too hot, the dressing room was too cold, she has the sniffles, a black cat crossed her path etc. You get the drift.

Maybe she had a cold or viral infection, as during [One sweet day] that's is one serious decline in vocal ability, surely if that was the true state of her voice she wouldn't be arranging to sing one of her biggest hits with Boys to Men [Boyz II Men]. Yes her voice has declined over the years but to not be able to sing at all, I don't believe it's all due to her current vocals something else is at play here like illness.
