Re: Mariah's voice (94,177) (94,201) by Nikki from usa
Mariah fans love using weak ass wine as a crutch. She's a Lyric Coloratura and most of them don't have a career beyond their early 30's. What allows them to fly through registers and have near superhuman agility is that their vocal chords are thinner than the average person's.

During the early 30's the voice becomes deeper and elasticity begins to thin. This is why most singers lower the key from the original. The thinning elasticity on already thin chords can be detrimental to a Coloratura's ability to sing. The agility takes a hit and the voice may not be as reliable. Yes, Mariah's singing style is far more difficult and complex than most pop stars. Even verifiable vocal coaches on YouTube mention that.

Mariah has a worse issue because of nodes. I don't think anyone really understands the amount of work and sacrifice Mariah made in her 20's. She didn't have time for friends, family, or hobbies. All she did was create new music and work on her voice. Mariah has never given up her work ethic. You're right, she's not working on her voice and maintaining it as she should. She's too busy working a back to back schedule. She finished up her Butterfly residency in February. She's been quarantined in her NY home since mid March and is approaching her 5th and 6th tribute. She'd get a lot of her voice back if she practiced instead of just resting and working with what she has at the moment.

This song should not be remixed. It is absolute perfection as it is.

Re: Martyn (94,197) (94,199) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
It isn't intended to be self-promotional but thanks for the nice message - that is sweet of you, in return. That period three years ago was devastating, not least how I and we here found out but that such a warm light was extinguished so nonsensically. It made me realise that almost all things should be done with good humour.

I think it is important to remember people, that they were here, that they walked among us, informed us, annoyed us, humored us or just simply were. Martyn's death and life affected me greatly once and, I think, a large many other people. And I choose to remember that he was here and he was one of us.

Till the end of time.

How to sing high (94,198) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I think that this is a very [interesting] video, and maybe shows that the detoriation of Mariah's voice isn't just age or tare, but that she's using a different technique to [reach] the high notes than the nasal queens.

Andrew, it's sweet of you to keep Martyn's memory alive on the board. Although I never met Martyn in person, I feel like I would have adored him.

Article: Mariah Carey's fans are doing it again (94,196) by Steve from USA
Jeez, I can't imagine why Lambs "hate" him, when he writes an overly snarky and needless article like this.

Haha thank you. If you still don't like it, then it's just another Mariah song thrown onto your pretty large list of songs you dislike anyway hah. I can't stop streaming Glitter.

I honestly think the legends who have such distinctive voices are at a disadvantage. And I meant the frog not turtle. You know.

Re: Lady Gaga feat. Ariana Grande (94,190) (94,192) by Bobby A from United States
It is really good. Gaga saved the best song on the album to launch this album release next Friday. I am sure it is going to be a contender for song of the summer. Mariah should be taking notes about more collaborations on her next album other than rappers. Music fans across all genres want more than rap collaboratoins. We want those unique collaborations from singers like it use be in the 80s and 90s.

Lady Gaga feat. Ariana Grande (94,190) by Malcolm from Asia
I think Ariana will surpass the record for most debuts at #1 next week, Rain On Me is so good there's a big chance it will debut at the top. I wonder what Mariah thinks with her using butterfly in her videos and photos for the past few months now haha hope she's not bitter. I truly believe we need a Mariah and Ariana duet soon.

Article: Mariah Carey's Glitter soundtrack LP hits Spotify (94,189) by Lainsky from Philippines
Glitter soundtrack remains one of Mariah's finest work. The cohesiveness of every single, her voice, the lyrics were almost perfect. Too bad not many people fell into bad publicity that time. However, it's making waves now. #JusticeForGlitter has been served. The film too I think is now in Netflix although I have not subscribed to it. So, way to go Billie Frank.

Everything Fades Away (Remix) (94,188) by Bill from the UK
A fan made remix of Everything Fades Away. For those of you that, for unknown reasons, cannot get into the magic and the enigma of this song, maybe this Caution-esque update will help.

Yes. I've slowed down on my Banaka Tanaka hate train. I still dislike him and this situation, but not enough to dwell on it. I try to avoid all topics pertaining to him.

Anyway, I did figure out Bow Wow and Kandi. I knew it was her from the first performance. While I'm happy she was the first woman to win, I definitely wasn't a fan of any of her performances. He just didn't sound so good. I can't believe they've sent so many legends home early in the competition. I agree Gladys definitely deserved. That Chandelier performance was epic.

Re: Ultimate disrespect (94,184) (94,186) by RibbonB from USA
It really is overkill. I only have enough effs to still hate On Binaka twice a year and he's still on her payroll. On another note did you have a clue that Bow Wow was the turtle? I actually thought it might be TI, but never knew him to be able to dance. Kandi deserved to win, but I'm still mad that TPain best out Gladys Knight in the first season of Masked Singer.

Ribbon they're just exhausting at times. It's 2020. They haven't been together in forever. We get it, you still hate him. Hell I can't stand old Tommy, but I stopped hating him many moons ago. To have so much hate for a person you don't personally know is unnatural. Lol.

Yes, deary. That was a plant, because I know you cannot resist the tasty morsel that is correcting someone for their error.

At any rate: my sincerest apologies for that atrocity of a grammatical error. It will definitely be life-changing being corrected by the Inventor of the English language himself.

Love yourself... then love yourself even more. It will certainly make your existence better (for you, unfortunately not for the rest of humanity).

Mmmmkay, sweetheart? Happy?

"Millenias" is not the plural of "millenia" as "millienia" is already the plural of "millennium". You asked for it, sweetheart.

Mariah's voice (94,177) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I just watched the performance [of] Home for the specials, that was post Glitter and she sounded amazing. Is it because she had a lot of rest, maybe no alcohol or other substances, yes I think that is the case.

I think the [reason] Mariah's voice is in such poor state out of lately, is because she drinks too much alcohol, doesn't get [enough] practice or rest. Remember she called the mansion [where] she lived with Tommy Mottola "Sing sing"? I think Mariah feel that [practicing] her voice is a bad thing, and she doesn't practice enough because it has a lot of bad memories to it.

If Mariah took a break from partying, practiced, she [would] have a voice in a good shape.
