The thing I find interesting is how much Erotica was overlooked as an album because of her whole Erotica book. The album itself is one of my favorite Madge albums. Re: 90s R&B and 1994 albums (91,173) (91,179) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Madge gets a lot of hate for being a button-pusher who has minimal talent, but truth be told, the woman is still the wisest, boldest, most instinctive woman in music. She wasn't popular because of shock value. She was popular especially among women and the LGBT community because she embodied what they secretly wanted to be, especially in such a restrictive and repressive society at the time. It's almost like they lived vicariously through her. Bedtime Stories was the first album where she hired the hottest, most in-demand producers. I am still pleasantly surprised she pulled it off, both the change in sound and the album's success in general, especially coming off of Erotica which almost ended her career. BS redeemed her to the public, saving her career and was the first step to making her likable again. It's a masterclass in crisis management. The album is also a prime example that an artist can dabble in current sounds and work with the producers of the moment without sounding like they were "selling out". It's her last album that had her sense of humor, as well as the last time she ever effectively pulled off the sex symbol image. Plus all the videos in that era were just art. Re: 90s R&B and 1994 albums (91,169) (91,173) by Edward from USA I also love Bedtime Stories, especially "Secret", "Take a Vow", "Human Nature", "Bedtime Stories" and "Love Tried to Welcome Me". It was also a huge surprise for me when Madonna went from Pop to R&B. Babyface's background vocals on "Take a Vow" are just amazing to me. CrazySexyCool has always been a favorite of mine too. I miss the 90's so much in terms of the quality of the music, when we actually didn't have all these online platforms overstimulating and throwing things at us from all directions without giving us time to digest this or that. I loved when Mariah would disappear and just show up with a new single, and the single already had notes stating the future album it was coming from, the anticipation was simply great. They certainly don't make a lot of great music like that anymore and the ones who still try to don't sell very well and are deemed flops by the children. Bedtime Stories is the last great album by Madonna for me. The last person I'd ever thought I'd hear on a Madonna song is Babyface. The combination was so odd yet it worked so well. Whomever steered her in that direction deserves so much praise. That whole album was a beautiful surprise. (Saturday 26 October 2019; 00:43)

I enjoy Brandy and Bedtime Stories is one of my Madonna albums because of the R&B influence. Yes, lambs can listen to other music and appreciate other artists lol. 90s R&B and 1994 albums (91,162) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Was listening to albums that turned 25 this year including Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, Brandy, CrazySexyCool, etc. and I was reminded just how much I love 90s R&B, including Madonna's attempt at it, Bedtime Stories. I know some lambs love it as well, which is totally understandable, because it's the the Madonna album that a lamb would gravitate towards the most musically. Love Tried To Welcome Me, Forbidden Love, Secret are gorgeous, and it also contains one of the best (if not the best) Babyface productions ever - Take A Bow. And then I switched back to a current hits playlist on Spotify and was reminded just how dire today's Top 40 is. I just miss those days when brilliant songs like Take A Bow deservedly topped the charts. Right now it's mostly just hype and star power. (Friday 25 October 2019; 17:23)

Nobody is using medical conditions *against* Mariah. She is not being attacked or mocked for it. Indeed she had never claimed she couldn't sing or sing well because of medical conditions. Wacko fans who will do or say anything regardless of fact or lack of evidence make those claims themselves and it is *they* who were being mocked from what I, and I dare say, most people, can see. A word to the wise: you may think of Mariah as family but she almost certainly does not think of you that way. You are simply a fan. Stars need fans to keep recording contracts, to get film roles, to make money. Try to stop Mariah in the street and have a conversation with her and she will dismiss you almost as fast as she tells you she loves you on stage. The world is ever so depressing when people like you cry vicarious victimhood because they don't subscribe to your (intentionally) warped viewpoint. If you are so fragile that someone you like may not be praised and heralded 24/7 seek help with your own emotions. Last time I checked Mariah was perfectly capable of dismissing comments she doesn't like. And is rather successful herself at taking on people who get in her way. So whilst you pull you hair out and shout down people who poke at the little bubble you live in, just imagine Mariah on her yacht sipping champagne and not, in all actuality, giving a $*** about you and your total lack of a sense of humor. And maybe said yacht *is* anchored off the coast of Israel. And maybe Mariah doesn't like people who clasp at straws to spout anti-Jewish sentiment at any given opportunity. And maybe as she walks past you in the street while you fangirl like a maniac she might turn around and give you five seconds to tell you so. I'd buy that for a dollar. Suffice is to say, you need to chill the freak out, lighten up and probably not attack well-intentioned honest and humorous people who seem to spend a good part of their lives posting here in support of Mariah just because you think it gets you one step closer to true Mariah nirvana. Most of the things that were listed on that list were in fact excuses that her and her team gave for when something went wrong and some were made up by the lambs to make themselves feel better about defending the crap show. No one made fun of her mental illness. The joke was how the fans tried to use her mental illness as a crutch to explain why she was making the jacked up decisions she was making.
