Glitter 18th anniversary (90,811)
by Mirage_Nunez from America

My how time flies. I don't want to be accused of being a deluded Stan when I say this, but I personally enjoyed Glitter in a campy/cheesy kind of way. It just wasn't big screen material, it would've been cute as a hallmark TV movie or something of that nature. Lol. Nevertheless I think the whole Glitter fiasco was overblown and Mariah was overly shamed for it. Atleast we got a masterpiece of a timeless soundtrack out of the ordeal (we can all agree on that much) and for that I'm eternally grateful, (holding it so close to me).

Mariah is the best actress and director he knows, he refers to Eric as the headmaster, and he still thinks he has a bright future ahead of him. Go figure.

Eric, experience has taught me that when you entertain crazy, you could end up crazy. Only a person with a screw loose could've made a comment like that.

What I write. Lol headmaster, if only me cared for his opinion though, but everyone are allowed to share theirs. I’m a young blessed man with a bright future, don’t you ever worry about me. Funny that you use words that could offend real people who deal with mental illnesses. Eric I expect better from you, aren’t you like in a “uncle” age. Lol.

I said she is alright, apparently you have a hard time understanding what you wrote, I don't even know what link that is, lol I wrote it as a meaning and the headmaster did a link of it. But she is good, she the only thing that made me mad was the fact that Mariah means way more to music than Meryl does for the movie industry.
Anyways Mariah is the greatest director I have ever seen, and Glitter is the greatest movie, Meryl could only wish to produce a movie like that

"Never Too Far" could have been an anthem is very much in line with "Migrate should have been a single". Let's vote and make it official.

Once again, three paragraphs full of nothing. Whether you like Meryl Streep or not, she's an effing awesome actress and when it comes to acting, she's in a league of her own, just like Mariah is on a league of her own with her musical genius. I love Viola Davis, she's not only a great actress but a humble person too, but she has a long way to go still to be considered an actress of Meryl Streep's caliber. Since you seem to be a 12 or 15-year old, I won't keep entertaining your diatribes full of made-up facts and irrational comments. Keep being a positive little lamb, one day you might turn into a full blown sheep and see things for what they are and no for what you want them to be. Baa. Baa.
Don't be embarrassed, but Meryl Streep is at number 2 on the link to the website you provided. At least I admit when I don't take my meds, but you, my dear, need help.

First of all stop acting as if Mariah has gotten credit for every video in her career, she said in an interview that, gotta find that interview, Tommy used to steal credits from Mariah as labels do from artist everyday.
Remember when it comes to Mariah, I will always believe her more than you guys, her words are 100x stronger than yours since she lived that life. Anyways Mariah can do a whole lot more than what Edward think of her.
I'm definitely not a fan of Meryl the way America is, she is alright but Viola Davis killed her on stage in my opinion, they did a movie together, and she stole the whole movie with one scene "according to the movie industry too". Meryl ain't even on top 50 actresses.

I said he shares pics and videos far less than he used to. Trolls are gonna troll, despite their attempts to protect them, but Mimi just shared the last picture so there is that. What I hate are the slime who leak little videos that don't appear to be from either parent. That happened particularly during the Stella error. I still see some remnant moments since then.

Great lost Edward, so right about everything you’ve pointed out. We Are Delusional would be a good fit to describe the way some people try to defend Mariah’s missteps and as they pass shade on her fans who have an opinion that Mariah isn’t actually perfect, so tiring. But don’t argue with fools as people looking from a distance can’t tell who is who.

I think it's great that he doesn't share pictures of the kids (if that's the case). They should be protected from the public scene.

Technically Mariah has directed 5 videos by herself, three of which were for her remixes, and she co-directed five others not as the main director. That's 10 videos in total. Out of 60 plus videos shot throughout her career, including remixes and bonuses, how can you say she's directed most of her videos?
Before pulling facts out of your behind, you should check your facts. Just because you say it, it doesn't make it true. I don't know if up there where you live directing a video and directing a movie is the same because here in the USA and most parts of the world it is not. So, let's stop with the deluluness. Mariah is an amazing singer/lyricist, there's no denying in that. Some things you either have in you or you don't. It's not only about having a big voice, but also about charisma and presence. Same thing with acting. Mariah is to singing as to Meryl Streep is to acting. Each one of them have something in them that goes beyond the voice or trying hard with an acting coach. Meryl can sing, but she won't ever be Mariah. Mariah can sort of act sometimes, but the closest to Meryl Streep twenty thousand acting coaches would get her would be as good as the quality of acting of Emely's Cellphone on the Devil Wears Prada.

Personally, I think that this want to do songs she hasn't done for a long time/not done before stemmed from her doing her #1s Vegas show. Ever since then, she has been revisiting her early number 1s and incorporating them into her setlist more and more. She always played it safe with her setlist but since that show ended, she's been more adventurous.

Listen, we know some of their hate for him is strong and wrong. Whatever, lol. Nick has always in the past taken them shopping for good grades etc. So Target and Toys R us used to be their spot. I just wish Nick shared more family videos. He probably stopped due to petty hateful comments of some numb nuts.

That was the cutest. I hate how the lambs turned Nick's funny comment into something so ugly and negative. They must not know that Mariah liked his comment. So she didn't have any issue with what he said.

Glitter the soundtrack didn't need a justice and in my eyes and many other lambs we also included the movie in that movement. The album sold 2 millions and gave her the best selling single of that year.
Mariah is an amazing director and her music videos have shown that, she directed most of them as she said, but we know she used to give away credit way too easy before. I need Mariah to really get an acting coach and get out and get more roles, try new things.
Our baby is a multi-talented women who can do it all, practice makes perfect and she just needs more roles.

I don't hold Glitter against Mariah, I'm actually happy Glitter happened because I don't think we would've gotten Glitter, the soundtrack, had she not jumped on making the movie. But trying to justify this movie blaming every little thing or person for how bad it was or what it could've been, is something I won't ever do. I like Mariah on Precious. She was decent in Tennessee and Wise Girls. By the end of the '90's Mariah had started believing her own hype, and what happened with Glitter brought some of that early humbleness she used to have back in her, then she worked hard and we got "Charmbracelet", which was kind of hated then, but now highly appreciated considering Mariah doesn't write poetic lyrics like that anymore, and then we had "The Emancipation Of Mimi". Things happened for a reason, at the end of the day, a horrible movie and a great soundtrack ended up saving her life. Mariah was working like a mule, abusing substances and not taking care of herself, and like any human being, she crashed. Everything happened the way it was supposed to. The movie keep being bad just as the soundtrack keep being great. We even got justice for it Glitter, the soundtrack, but we won't ever see a "#Justice4GlitterTheMovie" on twitter, and there's a clear reason for that.

I'm not against her acting (I actually liked her in Wisegirls). There's room for her to get better with acting if she's really serious about it. I just want her to choose roles that stray away from the diva persona and the typical "Mariah" role. I feel like she can do more than playing herself (diva or singer). I want her to get out of her comfort zone.

It is so much that can be said as to why that era did not work. But at this point as fans we should be grateful for the fact that Mariah survived such a dark time in her life which I am sure was not easy doing so in the spotlight. Of course as fans we would like for Mariah to be successful with everything that she does but in reality she is human just like the rest of us, so it is not possible. Was Glitter a classic movie in my honest opinion? No but I will not hold it against Mariah because I am not really into Mariah for acting I enjoy Mariah as the singer-songwriter/producer. But I will not knock her for wanting to try other aspects of entertainment if it makes her heart full.

I totally agree with you. In the early 90's she said that she wouldn't do acting, and she should have stuck with that. I was really embarrassed when I watched Glitter at the cinema. It was just bad. As the crazy fan I used to be, I still bought the DVD. Love the album, can't stand the movie. She's not an actress, she's a singer (producer, etc.). It's like she has no expressions in her face, and can't use her voice in movies.
