Hold up. Mediabase just updated the weekly total for SL and it made the Top 20 with 428 spins for the last 7 days. I can't believe it.

It looks like streaming and radio airplay has stalled in last 7 days. It is safe to say that SL won't make the Adult R&B Top 20. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis didn't say it, but I think SL was just a hype single for the album. The real big hits are going to be the Mary J Blige, Heather Headley, and Boys II Men tracks on the album.

They're giving out a partial refund of 5 cents to those who want to claim it. I got mine. I'm using the money towards her next album. Thanks for bringing it up. I almost lost all that money.

The Meaning of Mariah audio book error (98,293)
by Chicago Lamb from USA
| |
|
|
So, I'm listening to the audio book for the 2nd time and I noticed an error. Mariah talks about her #1 song [I'll be there], but refers to it as her "5th #1", which as any good lamb knows it's her 6th. Has anyone else noticed if the book mirrors the same error? How could Mariah herself have made such a mistake?

Don't be mean, there's no need for that. This pandemic has affected many of us, anything could be sweet quality music to our ears. "Infinity" has a new found meaning to me, and the remix with those 10 rappers and Justin is to die for, literally. "One More Try" is pure perfection. Of course the one sung by George Michael.

It's so beautiful I love it. Their voices would sound great together too. Mariah needs a great R&B duet in the style of Spend My Life With You by Eric Benet and Tamia.

Another one bites the dust. I'll admit, Somewhat Loved is no WBT or ABMB, timeless classics. But please don't lump the song in the same group as Crapfinity. Somewhat Loved ain't that bad. Crapfinity lives in its own rotten world.

Pressure by Kenny Lattimore (98,286)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|

Hey guys. You have to checkout Pressure by Kenny Lattimore. This song reminds me of MC so much. The way Kenny is singing it is MC's vocal stylings. It was produced and written by three up and coming producers - FWDSLXSH, Blake Straus, Madicin, and hot producer Bizness Boi. I hope that she works with these producers.

Well IDK, according to the book Miss Pat was tryna swoop in, but Mimi fought her off like she was Bianca and did a quick two step outta the "retreat" and said helll to the naw like Whitney. But seriously, Mimi found the will to cut ties with the label head, but cutting family ties is always complicated, which is why I get Mariah's complicated relationship with her mom and her side effects with TM. Speaking of Whitney, her sister in law had a grip on her and is still making yet another Whitney story, SMH, but Clive is also involved. Her reaction to WH death is creepy.

Mariah was Britney (98,284)
by T from USA
| |

I see no difference in the control between Britney and Mariah's 1990-1997 years. She had to perform when told to, record when told. The only difference to me is Mariah was more street savvy and was able to navigate her way out of it. By the time Mariah had her breakdown she was almost 32 years old without a domineering parent to try and swoop up control. Just be thankful that a Stella like character did not enter the scene in 2001/2002.

I agree, I don't think they are monitored and regulated in any way that is beneficial to the conservatee. Britney's statement was so devastating. I hope she gets her freedom and some kind of justice. I could have easily seen this happening to MC after Glitter especially after reading about that era in the memoir. On another note, Stella is almost as much of a snake as Lou M. Taylor.

After giving it a week of solid listening, the song is just ok for me. My issue with it is how busy it sounds; there's too many ideas. Much like Infinity, there are some meh parts, some brilliant parts, and just too many parts.

When I heard it on loud speakers (finally) it took the tune to the next level. Definitely enjoyable and interesting. It sounds great back to back with What Can I Say? by Janet. Have yet to hear it in the car but I can't wait.

Thank you for this. Apparently "conspiracy theories and speculation" are entertained by some from certain posters only.
Robert-Anthony, Mariah and Bryan do make such an attractive duo. I love With You and I hope they make each other laugh a lot.

Thank God that is not on the table. Nice of Mariah to show support to Britney. There should be limits on what conservators can do, time limits on their control, spending limits on the use of their money and saving requirements for the breadwinner. I applaud Britney if she is now refusing to work to feed her leeches.

Back to Somewhat Loved (98,277)

I have been listening to this song especially in the car and I gotta say I like it a lot. Sure is it in the same league as ABMB, Fantasy, VOL, Hero? Maybe even Migrate? Just kidding on that last song. Of course not. But it's got catchy lyrics, sweet vocals, and that chorus beat gets me to tapping the steering wheel everytime. Go listen to it again, stop blabbing secrets, and leave poor Nick alone.

I remember hearing about Britney's situation a while back and the whole "free Britney" thing and I laughed thinking people were crazy. I had no clue what was happening with her. I try not to get too invested in celebrities and their personal lives, after all they are just people like you and I. Then I started paying attention to the clues on her social media posts and quickly began to notice that something wasn't right. Now I'm mad at the people that are doing this to her and I feel really bad for her and I hope that she gets her life back. Nobody deserves what's happening to her and you're absolutely right, that could've easily been our girl Mariah, trapped by her mother with no control over her own life.
