Re: Dionne Warwick (97,899) (97,900) by RibbonB from USA
Yes, absolutely hilarious. It's awesome that she gets it and is a fan of the parody. Maybe they will poke fun at this moment in an upcoming installment. The jokes will write themselves. I love when people tweet her, "drag me queen", it's hilarious.

It's more than silly. More like pathetic. I read some of her tweets and they were funny. Have you seen the SNL skits where they spoofed her a couple times and did The Dionne Warwick show? I thought it was hysterical.

TEOM Clear vinyl (97,898) by Bobby A from United States
Did anybody else order TEOM Clear vinyl from MC's store and they shipped the Gold vinyl instead? If so, you may be receiving the TEOM Clear vinyl at no charge from LiveNation. My copy is arriving Thursday. Check your email from UPS for the expected delivery date.

Re: WIB played on mainstream radio, success (97,894) (97,895) by RibbonB from USA
That is pretty good, because I rarely hear Busta songs on the radio. I just saw the video. It's odd, but at least they seemed like they had fun at the end. Mimi did her usual poses. I'm glad he trimmed down a bit because he had really been hating out of his leather the past decade or so.

WIB played on mainstream radio, success (97,894) by T from USA
The fact that a new Mariah song in her current voice and age has been played on mainstream top 40 radio (albeit only 2 spins) is huge in my opinion. That is the biggest thing for the WIB era I will take away. As long as the door is opened a crack can always get wider with the right material. Urban spins are picking up fast, and Rhythmic radio is almost in the top 40 for spins.

Re: Dionne Warwick (97,892) (97,893) by RibbonB from USA
Dionne also made clear in a subsequent video that she wasn't shading any of the amazing ladies that she was asked about. It's silly how quickly fan bases start dragging and being petty. I think it's cool and educational when true veterans, legends even, speak their minds. Even Mimi has a right to express her own opinions as she did in her memoir.

Re: Dionne Warwick (97,891) (97,892) by RibbonB from USA
She gave her honest, thoughtful, opinion. she wasn't even being mean. Lots of people would have to "think about that". Whether or not someone is iconic, is totally subjective. I think a lot of her peers and other legends would have to ponder that as well.

Can you believe this woman? She's so forgettable.

Re: Def Jam (97,888) (97,890) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
She couldn't have gone to Columbia without fulfilling her contract with Def Jam or without them buying her out. Also she probably felt betrayed by them and saw where she got support.

Re: Epic (97,883) (97,889) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Is she part of RocNation though? She's not on the roster.

Re: Def Jam (97,884) (97,888) by T from USA
I wish she took the momentum after TEOM and went back to Columbia in 2007. I think they would have invested huge in her next release. I understand why she stayed on Island/DJ as LA Reid was still head but with each release the promo dwindled. Honourable mentions to TMB, and #Beautiful which did get a very decent label push.

Re: Epic (97,883) (97,887) by T from USA
Roc Nation removed her from their website artist roster. I don't think Mariah has a company behind her.

Elijah Blake (97,886) by Bobby A from United States
Elijah Blake a.k.a. Sean Fenty who has written for Keyshia Cole, Rick Ross, Rihanna, and Usher's Climax posted a video on Twitter complimenting MC for her vocal technician skills and runs on When I Saw You. Do I smell a collaboration?

Def Jam (97,884) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Def Jam just like every major has been go through restructuring, and changes because the music business itself is in a free fall because of the changes in technology, and how people consume the music. Labels are not spending as much as they once did because the money is not coming in as it used to. Only a handful of today's pop stars are actually selling records everyone is better be thankful for streaming because without it a lot of these pop stars would be in trouble even the ones getting major praise, and AirPlay besides Taylor, and Adele who actually put up major numbers with, without streaming.

Epic (97,883) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
To those who are unaware MC is not on Epic anymore, and has not been for quite sometime. She quietly moved from Epic to Sony. Her representation for her label is Sony/Sony legacy for her back catalogue. But all new stuff is released strictly through Sony Music Entertainment/RocNation.

Vocal analysis video found (97,882) by Bobby A from United States
I think that I may have found the best video yet that analyzes MC's voice and vocal decline. I can never figure out how to share the link using my phone. However, if you type the Google search "Mariah Carey's voice explained". The YouTube video by I Love Aretha Franklin will come up. This video is a must watch. MC16 is going to show that she lost her capital and her voice has more of a edge to it that ever before. These are the terms being used in the video. These terms really explain MC's vocal decline. One video last year of MC singing Stay The Night clearly shows the edge of her voice. Let me know your thoughts.

Humpty Hump (97,881) by RibbonB from USA
Aw, RIP Shock G. You gotta love Digital Underground and what a unique frontman he was. Such a seeming goof ball, but well respected as a genius and innovator. I guess Swizz could play him in the biopic, but aid rather Rene Jean from Bridgerton have the honor.

Re: Go independent (97,879) (97,880) by Bobby A from United States
I get it. MC can not continue to keep putting out albums and they underperform on a major label. Epic is going to drop her from their roster if MC16 does not sell like Dua Lipa.

Re: Go independent (97,875) (97,878) by T from USA
Janet's career is the last blueprint I would be following if I was Mariah. One album in the last twelve years or so. Came and went without even being noticed. Mariah belongs on a major because she's major.

Re: JLo can't sing lamb interview (97,876) (97,877) by 123 from USA
A hit dog will holler. Don't think too hard you may hurt yourself. I am on the said board you mention where there are many like minded individuals who come to talk about their love of MC's music, not bash it and her over and over again. You are the only negative person on the board so you should take your own advice. Stop relying to my posts, I've told you before to leave me alone. Push on blondie.

Re: JLo can't sing lamb interview (97,872) (97,876) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Here's an idea: If the board you visit is too full of negativity from lambs whose opinions you dislike so much that you don't want to read them, why don't you go to another board more suited to your echo chamber ideology?

Go independent (97,875) by Bobby A from United States
Maybe it is time for MC to sign with an independent label and major distribution company like BMG. Janet Jackson has gone independent and signed to BMG. MC has the cash. What could go wrong as an independent artist? She has think out of the box for this next era.
