Here For It All (110,447) by Edward from USA
I have to agree with you about her vocals sounding a bit "chipmunkey" on the belting part of the "HFIA" clip. As for that impromptu performance of "Stay the Night", it was from about five years ago, during the pandemic. At the time, she said she'd gotten her voice back and wouldn't ever tour again, but sadly, that didn't last. I don't think she could replicate those vocals today; her voice is just too far gone.

Mariah is a perfectionist, so what we're hearing in the "HFIA" clip is most likely the very best she could deliver, chosen from multiple takes. It's sad, but I think this is simply where her voice is now.

I love Mariah but this does sound chipmunkey yet again. The rough thin belts are not going to be easy on the ears. Audio engineer who willingly went along and approved of this needs to be fired or he at least should encourage her to re-do some of the notes.

She can actually still belt so beautifully. Remember this? Emancipation-riah is still there like it's 2005. What I don't quite understand is why it's not translating sonically on the record. I really love the melody, she absolutely delivered on that front. But somehow, the overall sound just isn't hitting. Mariah, girl, there's still time to edit. Get an audio engineer who will keep it real.

Someone copy paste my comment on X, I'm not on it.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm not loving those vocals in the clip. Hopefully, the full song hits differently. Her voice sounds a bit strained here, though I do appreciate that it's a power ballad, we haven't had one from her in 11 years.

It's a ballad and final track in the vein of "Portrait" I guess. Very Mariahesque melody and chord progression, but I don't know about that vocal at all.

Taylor Swift (110,442) by TJ from Norway
I don't see the reason why it will be bad for Mariah. Mariah was the goddess in the 90's and some years of the 2000's. Taylor is clearly in that position now. Different fan bases, her lambs are at the age of 8-16, maybe 20, and Mariahs around 40-50+. Taylor Swift will be dethroned one day. Maybe not this year, but not far away in the future. Everyone has a peak. Mariah is not in that league at this point of her career, and that's totally fine.

Taylor Swift (110,441) by Edward from USA
Bobby A, sometimes I think you live in an alternate universe. Mariah isn't competing with anyone with "Here For It All". She's a legacy artist now, her last 11-track album came out nearly a decade ago. It's more like when Streisand or other legacy artists release something: their core fans eat it up, but that's about it.

Back in the '90s, when Mariah and Whitney were killing it, did you really think any legacy artist from that time could compete with them? Exactly. So let's not pretend we're still in that era where a new Mariah release is a head-to-head chart battle. This is a completely different stage of her career.

Here's what will likely happen: the album drops, us Lambs grab it immediately, and within three or four weeks, it's gone from the Billboard Top 100 albums. Mariah's waited too long, and outside of us devoted fans, most people have moved on. That's not pessimism, just a dose of realism. Which is why I'm hoping it's a great album, one that earns solid reviews and a few well-deserved accolades.

In short, that chart-showdown you're fantasizing about? It's not going to happen.

Taylor Swift (110,440) by Bobby A from United States
I think Taylor Swift is going to drop The Life of a Showgirl on 09.26. She has not announced the release date yet, but peorders have started. If she does drop on 09.26, it will be bad for MC. Let's hope that is not the case. Vinyls are suppose to ship by 10.13. So that leaves 10.3 and 10.10 as the other drop dates.

MTV VMA's will be one of the most watched events this year (110,439) by T from USA
The VMA's will not only be on MTV but for the first time ever they will be simultaneously broadcasted on the major CBS network. Why do you think that is? Because Taylor Swift is going to be a big part of the show this year with an album coming out. They know the ratings will be huge. How can this benefit Mariah? Well, her last album Caution was amazing but most people didn't even know she had an album out. Mariah's biggest issue is reaching people in a flooded music market now and being independent will make it even harder. However, with all eyes on the VMA's September 7th what better way to get word out about Mariah then with everyone watching. So how can we help? Easy. Let's get her to win the Moon Man for best R&B video Type Dangerous. Vote here everyday from now until the VMA's for MC.

Great music (110,438) by TJ from Norway
I'm like that my self, but I remember back in the pre-internet time, when she was about to release Music Box, and I heard the lovely melody of the title song in the background of the interview. I fell in love with that song, and was so eager to hear more.

I'm old school too. I allready know two new songs from "Here for it all" and I think that's enough. I will read what you all think of the new snippet, but I'll also wait for the entire album like in the good old days.

I am really trying not to listen to snippets from MC's upcoming album, leaked or not. Call me old school, but I still enjoy unpacking a new MC CD, opening up and browsing through the liner notes while the music plays.

The Bop That Got Away (110,434) by Lambi from USA
Never Too Far was the right decision. If you noticed in the movie, it was meant to be Mariah's "I Will Always Love You" moment, a well-crafted song. Lead the Way was just a background noise moment in the film. Also, Asia ate up Never Too Far. It's still being sung in singing contests to this day. It's simply the more palatable ballad, just sadly released on 9/11, with no push from the label whatsoever.

Angels Cry was also embraced in Asia. They chose well. It should have been It's a Wrap, though, to really maximize that era's success. Angels Cry also wasn't a lead single; it was a remix single, a last effort to salvage the album from flopping because, yet again, they weren't banking on Mariah at the end of MOAIA. Actually, as early as the second single, H.A.T.E.U., it felt like they just dropped her. I truly wonder why Def Jam did her dirty like that.

You're Mine is good, but this era is when Mariah's voice "got ugly". That's the best way I can explain it. Her voice is still beautiful, but there was a dryness in her tone that made everything she sang on that album less stellar. Great songs. The melodies were melodying. But she lost quality in her voice, sadly. It's almost like the bitterness from the divorce mutated her voice. The belts were also pitched way too high. It's like Mine Again pitched up times three.

With You was also the right choice. It's right up there with A No No as the bop that got away. The only thing I would change is the intro, it's a bit too long and I would slightly reduce the repetition of "With you, with you, with you," but only minimally. It was almost another WBT moment, yet once again, there was no backing from the label.

MC's sleep struggle (110,433) by Lambi from USA
You're right. I usually would say it's because of the lighting: "You're not giving me a key light, so I'm putting these on." But she did an interview with The Breakfast Club before, with her own personal lighting, and she still put on shades. It's usually a rare thing, but in all the recent interviews (Capital FM, Capital XTRA, KISS, Smooth Radio, Heart), she consistently had them on. So that's bizarre.

The explanation that makes the most sense is puffiness and eye bags. Mariah struggles with sleep, so she would look like she hasn't slept. And with aging, wrinkles have probably started to become more noticeable.

Someone recently captured her getting out of her car or arriving at a hotel. They caught her just a second before she put the shades on, and I've never seen her look that old and tired. For once, she looked relatively closer to her age.

The common denominator with these interviews is that they're all daytime events. And like she said, "I don't have time for this daytime sh*t, I should be sleeping." Makeup could conceal the tiredness and puffiness around the eyes, but a full glam session takes time, and Kristofer probably isn't available every waking hour, so shades it is.

I like it. The only part that I don't like is when the first time she sings "here for it all" in the snippet, the "all" is flat. It's either she didn't realised it or she did it on purpose.

Bryan Tanaka (110,430) by Edward from USA
One thing I'll say is that Bryan genuinely cared for her. It was reassuring to know he was by her side. But deep down, I think we all knew it wouldn't work in the long run. It was clear Tanaka wanted more than just to hang out and have fun, he wasn't just playing house. I believe at some point he even proposed, but Mariah turned him down. It makes sense that he'd move on from a relationship that wasn't going anywhere. He's young, and he probably wants a family.

Grammys (110,426) by Giovanni from USA
I know some of you may not care for Mariah to snag any more Grammys but I do. I will never get over how U2 won album of the year in 2006. We all know "The Emancipation Of Mimi" was a much better and bigger album. I felt Mariah really deserved that one. Also not to hate on Beyonce because I love her but it's ridiculous how she has so many over Mariah. "Drunk in love" is a garbage song yet won a Grammy. I know Mimi has one or two gospel songs on the new album, one with The Clark Sisters. If it's as good as J Valentine says it is maybe Mariah will be nominated for best gospel song/performance and snag a Grammy.
