I hope MC16 brings this year full circle for MC. If I was a part of her team deciding MC16's rollout, I would say this at the meeting.

1. Release two singles at the same time with videos ready to go on their release day. One should be an uptempo jam and the other should be the Clark Sisters' gospel song. August 8th. Drop the uptempo remix with Cardi B on August 15th with a video.
2. Announce that MC16 will drop in 30 days. September 12th. Sell 7" versions of the new singles on her website along with album variations and special bundles with fan surprises.
3. Give interviews and performances on the morning news and late night talk shows during the 30-day promotional period. Do radio station drop ins in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Nashville. Give Rolling Stone, Billboard and Ryan Seacreast interviews.
4. Drop MC16 on the same day as Ed Sheeran's new album on September 12th. Give him some competition on that day. Be the closing artist for the summer concert series on the Today Show or Good Morning America on September 12th.
4. Be ready to perform the two new singles during her iHeart Music Festival performance.
5. Perform on SNL's fall season premiere episode.
6. Announce a world tour for 2026.

One Heart, One Voice (109,516) by Dove from United States
It's on par with the Tony Bennett duet. Not every song is going to be extraordinary. I'm just happy she's still recording, she's still trying. She doesn't have to make these songs at all. It's cheesy like Hero, but I'm okay with that.

I played it on Amazon Music today and then a bunch of Barbara [sic] Streisand hits played afterwards. I had no idea what an emotive singer BS was. I never cared to really listen to her before.

I also had the thought after hearing this song that the songs that WA writes are kind of generic. MC really did add the sprinkle of magic.

It made me think about a David Foster concert I watched on YouTube. He had amazing singers performing on it but it felt a little generic and dated. I'm glad Mariah went in a different direction and didn't stay locked in to the 90's power ballads.

I don't mind that One Heart, One Voice is understated. She has plenty of songs where she belts. I appreciate it for what it is. I don't think it's meant to be a hit and I'm sure Mariah knows that too.

Honestly, I'm rarely disappointed with the music that MC puts out. Even if at first I don't like it, eventually at some point it'll grow on me.

[One Heart, One Voice] production is amazing, the lyrics are the weakest point in my opinion. All ladies sounded good.

The [biggest] difference between their songs in the 90s and this song is that Mariah had no part in it. Y'all have been praising Walter since forever and it proves that he is [nothing] without Mariah and not the other way around.

Anyways, let me go and stream the song of the summer aka Type Dangerous. I can't wait for [MC16].

"I'll take a relaxed, dated sound to some of the junk that is supposed to be music or respectable vocal prowess these days, at any time." I completely agree. I just watched the charts yesterday on Deluxe music TV and it felt like "ear torture". The cheap videos were also not enjoyable. No wonder why so many youngsters are a little depressed when listening to garbage, that "modern" music has no heart and soul.

Three voices, one problem (109,513) by Lee from UK
Considering this song is highly reminiscent of 90s adult contemporary music, I was expecting more. There was definitely room here for "All I Ever Wanted" style vocals from all of them. Mariah held back to her own detriment. It feels like these three were never in the same studio. It's like they all recorded their individual parts from their home studios and then emailed them to Walter A to sew together. If these three could have gotten together and arranged their vocals with each other, this could have become something special. It just feels very bland unfortunately.

It's not that I am against something wholesome. The song is just bad. When you look at Mariah duets, Mariah and Boyz II Men, Mariah and Dru Hill, Mariah and Busta, Mariah and Whitney. This song is not on any of those level. When you look at Mariah songs about hope, Hero, Anytime You Need A Friend, Can't Take That Away, Through The Rain, Fly Like A Bird. This song is not on any of those level. Mariah's bar for a duet or a song of hope is so high she can't just release anything and expect we get behind it. You fine with mediocre? Go on, celebrate, jump up and down, attack me. It's not going to make the song inch closer to what she's capable of. In addition, I have an attitude with songs that say a lot but don't say anything. Ima write one for you right now. There's a chance to win. If you look within. Find strength to fight. It'll all be alright. There's a universal truth. You should've learned from youth. If you would just hear it. You can't crush the human spirit. Pretty good huh? Ima pitch it to Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Nicks for the next multi-generation song.

This "song" is hideous. What is it supposed to even convey? I don't think any of the people singing it could tell ya. The three voices are not harmonized and do not complement one another. At all. Mariah does not sound in good voice at all here. Her chords are strained like a piano wire about to snap. Babs' voice also sounds thin here. The lyrics are just dreck. What a waste. I hope this isn't what MC 16 has on it, I won't even buy that mess if so.

"It's not a song that didn't need to be written." Okay so since we already have My All, why did Mariah have to write After Tonight and I Only Wanted? We already have so much heartbreak records.

"One of the songs sung before a Super Bowl national anthem with young girls from around the world tryna count steps with lame choreography." Literally what's wrong with that? That's every family gathering and every Sunday church service. That's literally okay. Family suited songs are okay. Songs that can be sung around children are okay.

Perhaps you were upset because you were abruptly awakened, but it might have been better to leave the phone alone for a while and let the mood settle.

This is where lambs lose and are just objectively annoying. Mariah does something with a legend and it's actually quite wholesome. Probably special because she made a friend out of Ari and it's obviously a big deal since she was willing to disregard all beef with Walter just to honor Barbra's invite and some lambs just have to ruin it. We can't have anything nice and wholesome.

I don't remember texting you Randy. I agree with you. It's okay, but it's hardly a return to the 90s and Mariah sounds the worst out of the three.

A beautiful song. No one screaming or trying to outdo each other. Barbara [sic] giving MC and AG equal footing on her project is just class personified. She didn't relegate them to mainly provide background. I'll take a relaxed, dated sound to some of the junk that is supposed to be music or respectable vocal prowess these days, at any time. Well done.

It definitely will not be on MC16 because it doesn't have enough of today's musical style and appeal to be a radio hit. I am just waiting for MC to make the announcement when MC16 is dropping. Do you think we are less than 60 days away from the announcement?

Mariah's unique tone and sound (109,501) by jaker20 from US
One thing stood out for me on this song is how unique her voice is. This record made me realize, again, why I fell in love with her. She's actually more reserved here, and respectfully stepped back. But it also made me realize how unique her voice is.

Streisand's voice is classic and powerful, Ariana is also a good vocalist and has her own style. But side by side with other artists, how Mariah "play" with her tone stands out.

Her power is probably not the same anymore, but the playfulness, texture and dynamics is always going to be there. It's hers and hers only. She goes from whisper then like a "fracture" or break, head and chest, and then back to soothe again.

I don't understand vocal terms so I'm clearly sounding senseless now. But then Mariah herself said she never had a formal training. But that quality on her voice is really what makes me recognize it's her and make her voice unique. That even great vocalists, even if they try to sing her song, it's just not, and will never be, the same.

It was ok, kind of what I would expect for a Streisand song. However, if Mariah will be doing these types of songs, I would rather it be more in the lane of Home and 100%, which by the way, are both epic, inspirational standards, they needed to be on streaming and be discovered.

I totally agree. Very generic 90s ballad and it's not even that catchy. After several listens I still can't remember the melody. Tell Him with Celine is far superior. Oh the good old days.

I don't like it either. It's quite dated and just not my taste. Glad for 3 iconic women coming together to lend their vocals to a song but I am not listening to it for a second time haha.

I like it a lot. It brought a tear to my eye. It sounds beautiful and nostalgic. I played it on repeat on my drive home from work. It made me want to hear a duet by Mariah and Kelly Clarkson. A Christmas one.

One Heart, One Voice (109,495) by Randy from USA
I don't like it. Here's the thing. I knew it would be a ballad from the 90s. I knew it would feel "crowded". And I do think it's genius how he interchanged them throughout the verses. I am a Mariah Carey fan and what's most important to me is a lyric. Then the vocal. Then the arrangement. The lyrics are both banal and generic. It's not a song that needed to be written. It's been written before. I feel as though this is one of the songs sung before a Super Bowl national anthem with young girls from around the world tryna count steps with lame choreography. It belongs at the end of a really bad movie where the credits are more entertaining than the plot. My favorite person on this board woke me up out my sleep with a text for this? It's just Another Trite Hope Song rackin my brain like crazy.

I agree with you and everybody else. It's beautiful and reminiscent of golden ages. However, Mariah's voice sounds weaker than the others or somehow different (I don't know how to put it). Probably she could have soared more. I'm not sure if she doesn't want to or she is not able anymore.
