A "new" show in Vegas, no new music (105,294) by MC1989 from Spain
Couldn't be more disappointed.

Don't be a negative Nancy. There's going to be some new music this year. Mariah is looking stunning, that's not a coincidence. She's definitely getting ready for something big.

I do hope so. That album is everything to [me] and her true Lambily and Mariah [knows] this. This is so cool (Eric leave that [caps] alone). "The Emancipation of Mimi" technically turns 20 this year since she actually recorded it in 2004. I want a rerelease with a double set Compact Disc of all the records that didn't make the final cut, she recorded a lot of songs that did not make the final cut. Mariah, [you rock] big time This 2024 is about to be everything 1994, 2004 and 2014 weren't for this lovely [lady]. Epic and [defining].

Could this be the title of her new album too?

Really? I think there won't be a new album. MC makes money with shows, not with a new album. Maybe we'll get a new version of TEOM with unreleased songs like "When I feel it". It's always the same, every time you think there's something great new coming, there's just a perfume or some old stuff in a new dress.

Mariah is doing some shows in Las Vegas in April at Park MGM. I feel a good record is coming up this year, the PR of Mariah at the moment is on form.

That would be an interesting and refreshing collaboration. The Barbie soundtrack was perfection.

Replying to my own post haha, I would also be interested in seeing what a collaboration with Billie Eilish and her brother will look like.

Beyond excited (105,286) by Zachariah from Croatia
I will refrain from all the possible and endless scenarios but I have to admit one thing - I am beyond excited what Mariah has in store for us. I think we will be blown away.

How would a MC and Mark Ronson collaboration sound? He would be a unique collaborator who could definitely give MC a memorable song. Whatever he has his name written on becomes a hit. The Barbie soundtrack is a masterpiece.

Who are some current relevant artists you'd want Mariah to collaborate with? Their musical style may be completely different which could allow Mariah to either compliment with contrast or try out a new style or it could be someone who's vibe matches with her. No limits. I would like to see:
1) Drake
2) Sza
3) Ariana
4) Taylor (I know this won't happen but I would love to see what they'd come up with as they both have strong pen game)
5) Miley Cyrus (MCxMC, after last night I would be interested in the duo)
6) Bruno Mars
7) Coldplay (how insane would that be haha)
8) Rihanna
There was a time I would have said Beyoncé but I honestly don't care anymore about that.

Why I thought this slug was from Business Insider is beyond me, but here's his "scoop" on Mariah's new music. [Webmaster: Did you know this website also has a news section?]

Single drop (105,281) by Bobby A from United States
MC will probably drop her single after Dua Lipa drops her album in May. I feel Dua was eyeing April because her single Training Season is impacting radio February 16th. Artists are going to be very cautious about dropping an album in April now because of Taylor. A June or July release would probably be better for promotion and sales wise for MC.

Grammy (105,280) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wonder if this move by Mariah is a strategic campaign setting herself up for nominations next year. The possibilities are endless.

Ugh Taylor and her bazillion remixes only to get 1 week at number 1. I hope Mariah knew in advance about Taylor’s drop (even if she didn’t know it was a new album and not Rep TV) and planned her releases accordingly.

Grammy (105,278) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh I didn't get to see the introduction. I need to dig it up. I wonder if it was a subtle dig at the Grammys by Trevor. It's insane to me how an award that is about the best of the best in music failed to give Mariah the recognition for literally being the a legendary trifecta - singer, songwriter and producer. Literally there is no MusiC with MC.

Grammys weekend (105,277) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I know as fans we may think that Mariah should pay dust to Grammys as they snubbed her but even though Grammys have recently been called out by many artists they are still one of the biggest nights in the music industry so I think Mariah deciding to work with them has been one of the most strategically clever things she did recently. In this industry she needs to play the game to her advantage so if that means dancing with the devil every now and then so be it haha. Also I loved how beautifully Miley shared the symbolism of "Butterfly" for the little boy, Mariah and herself. It was so nice of her to request MC to stand next to her. Same can't be said about Taylor and Celine.

If Mariah is dropping a new album this year, when do you think she should drop her first single off the album (given that Taylor is dropping her album in April, with a new single probably at the beginning of next month)?

That Mariah Carey approval (105,275) by Terna from Nigeria
Her star power is still very strong, most people who watched the show acknowledged that there's something about Mariah that just gives and brings about validation, because she's a true [artist] and a heavily [gifted] one at that. (No coincidence she started off the show.) And this year's event seemed for lack of a better word, "complete" just by having her presence there. Maybe the recording academy has seen the error in its ways, who knows, but like Trevor pointed out 34 nominations and only 5 wins for an artist of her caliber is unacceptable and just absurd. Meanwhile Beyoncé (and this isn't shade to Bey because I [love] her as well) is the most awarded artist in the industry, whose body of work pales in comparison to Mariah's is just laughable. I know for a fact the ratings would be up, better than previous years this year. .

Me too. It's crazy to get 34 nominations and have only 5 Grammys. The Scammys have not been the same since Spotify came along.

Grammys weekend (105,272) by Jono from USA
Honestly, I was shocked to see Mariah had attended this past weekend. She had every right to continue to pay them dust lol, but maybe, hopefully, this means the Grammy's are trying to right their wrongs with her in the past. I've always liked Miley Cyrus, even when she was younger and dumber and said some silly things about Mariah in the past. Looks like she's grown up and delved into Mariah's discography and what she's really about. She attended her Christmas show last year. For her to win her first Grammy, and then to spend the majority of it giving her "flowers" to Mariah, and using the butterfly as an analogy... brilliant.
