With every post with (really lame, unfunny) ad hominem attacks you do nothing but further prove my point. Thank you.

Talking to yourself when nobody sees you is fine. Replying to your own post on a public message board is concerning. You need to hide all objects with sharp edges and play Randy's Theme until you calm down. No matter what the voices in your head tell you, do not play Languishing. A couple of Xanax later, continue with Through the Rain.

A last question (104,728)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
A last question before I head out to this years celebration of what was and what is to come.
I just realized, almost every human being on earth know who Mariah is. In all my encounters with other people, I have never met a person who doesn't know who Mariah is. A lot of frustration on this board and from me personally, is that Mariah's music isn't remembered that much compared to Whitney, Madonna or Celine. Ask a young person today to name another song by Mariah that isn't AIWFCIY, and they will have a hard problem to name one, maybe they know Hero.
But Mariah's level of fame, is bigger than her music. Everybody knows who she is, her name is instantly recognizable. So, isn't it better to be happy about Mariah's impression on culture, that everybody knows her name, than be dpressed that many can't name a single song? Everybody knows who Mozart was, but be honest, name five pieces of his, and try to recollect any of his tunes in your head. I can, but can the general public?
In one hundred years from now, maybe Mariah's name will still be in the cultural canon, even though most people don't know a single tune of hers. I would call that a big personal success irregardless.

Obsessed ft. 50 Cent (104,727)
by Dennis from Miami, FL
| |
|
|
If it was 2004-2005 maybe. But in 2009 I doubt it. Obsessed is a great song. I prefer it over TMB. I'm not 100% sure, but wasn't Jay Sean's Down #1 around that time? Overall I believe MOIA release was too chaotic and too soon after E=MC2. Barbra Streisand and Paramore occupied the top of album charts.

Yes, I replied to myself saying it was lame that on a fan board no one was celebrating the records, instead talking and amplifying consistory negative and trite topics. That I was replying to myself (because no one said anything on the positive topic) is not the diss folks think it is, it's literally my point.

True. She didn't tell us who her writing partner is that she has done the 10 songs with. I assumed that she wrote the 10 songs with Daniel Moore, but now I am thinking that she could be talking about multiple writing partners to keep us wondering. She is being very secretive with this new album just like Caution by posting no studio pics. I mentioned Poo Bear today because I saw a That Grape Juice interview on YouTube and it was all about his songs written for 112, Usher, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, and Justin Beiber. There was no mention of his studio time with MC, which I thought was odd considering the 7 songs (actually he said 7 songs in 2018 not 10 songs) they wrote together. Only 3 of those songs made the cut for Caution. Anyway, the waiting game is the hardest part for me anticipating new music.

I wonder why MC has stopped posting pics of who she is working with in the studio. I wonder if Poo Bear posting that he and MC were 10 songs in rubbed her the wrong way. She never said publicly prior Caution being released who she had been in the studio with.

Lol. I didn't catch that she replied to herself. It has been one exhausting week for some of us. The Hot 100 chart news was devastating today. Somebody unearthed Crustella after Tanaka's and MC's breakup announcement to the media. Even I messed up bad this week and had to post my sincere apology. No more relationship analysis from me again. I will never be Dr. Phil. Cheers to the new year. I am ready for 2024.

Do you really think that was the case? I think MC was not making sound business decisions from 2014-2018. She let Stella be too much in her personal life. Those years were very turbulent for MC. The whole James Packer engagement and break-up was a disaster. Crustella was too controlling of a manager for someone as legendary as MC. Whitney would not have given someone like Stella the time of day.

Facts. Stella had literally taken Mariah from a legendary songbird supreme to a controversial and trashy wanna be reality star with porn girl aesthetic. And yes I know Mariah is an adult and should be held accountable for her decisions but let's not forget the people you surround yourself with (especially when they're supposed to be your manager and consultant) can influence the way you act. Now that Mariah had an image refresh she should focus on fresh collaborations, fresh content and fresh approach to marketing herself. I hope Mariah knows how important momentum is. Right after the AIW went to #1 , when she was all over she should have rode that momentum and released fresh material and it would have gotten attention. Instead she just kept focusing on Holidays and talking about projects that never came to fruition. She can't just release something and then months later release a video with no promotion and then abandon an album. Caution was a solid album and had it been promoted well she could have had another hit on her hands.

Right. She doesn't need Stella back. What MC needs is a songwriter/producer partner like Jack Antonoff or Ilya. Both of them have done wonders for Taylor's and Ariana's careers. He or she has to understand MC as the legendary artist that she is today. I would love to see Robert Glasper or James Poyser become her songwriting partners. If she wants any Grammy nominations or awards in 2024, she is going to have to step out of her comfort zone. A duet with Howard Hewett or Peabo Bryson would set the R&B world on fire and garner her the recognition from the Grammy committee that she has never received.

Y'all must really be trolling because when Stella was in charge of Mariah's business Mariah's image was down in the gutters. It took years for RocNation to build her back up to the legend status that she truly should have been all along. Stella really had her going around LA in her damn bodysuits and put her in a reality show that was a through and through mess. Also not y'all out here missing a thief who stole from Mariah. Bye. Mariah doesn't need Stella's chunky highlighter and cheap leather jackets in her world. I'd rather her not be "relevant".
