Would you rather (104,266) by Bobby A from United States
I would rather have a 10 to 12 track album next year. It has been too long since we have had new music. Also, I am curious what she will talk about in the new songs since she has been writing with Daniel Moore. And there is probably a good chance that Roc and Roe will be singing on a track. The Rarities 2 can come in 2025.

I would like to see her new album. A banger. A real banger. With different producers. Like Max Martin for example. Since her voice is pretty good now, I want that.

I'm quite curious to read everyone's opinion. For 2024, would you rather have Mariah releases a 10 to 12 tract Rarities 2 album, where half of the songs are never before heard songs, or would you rather see here release a brand new 10 to 12 song studio album?

I think it is going to happen too. I worried two weeks ago after the first show. Lol. The five TV appearances have helped this year as well. Last weekend and today AIWFCIY was played on the network morning news programs when they returned from a commercial break. Of course, the hosts mentioned the queen of Christmas Mariah Carey.

I was blasting this song last night on my way home. I love how MC calls the song a cute little Christmas ditty. It's so much more than that.

I agree with you, but the performers who do tributes are hand-picked by Mariah. Mariah wouldn't pick an Alicia Keys or Taylor Swift for obvious competitive reasons, or because she feels they don't fit her niche. A Beyonce would be lauded and Mariah wouldn't want the comparison.

AIWFCIY jumps from 17 to 4. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree reenters at No 8. I thinks it's happening again like last year, AIWFCIY will top the charts next week.

Toronto (104,256) by Aliya from Canada
I just came home from the Toronto concert. She sounded pretty good when she was singing live. And I would say she sang live for the most part. She had clarity in her voice and it didn't sound strained. She did tone down many of her songs of course as she has done through the years. Overall, it was a great show. People who were there said she sounded great. And personally, it made me confident that she could create a new album and deliver great vocals still.

Why does Mariah always gets boring-ish singers for a tribute? I want to hear Beyonce doing her song. It would be cool to see Taylor Swift doing Mariah's Shake It Off. Alicia singing My All. Etc etc. One Sweet Day was horror. They even messed up the text in the beginning.

It is just his style. As Mariah would say: "We like everybody."

He also had a big no.1 hit last year with First Class which heavily samples Glamorous by Fergie, who imo, like Mariah in BE got screwed over and due to a bunch of technicalities did not get credited.

Amy Grant album Heart In Motion (104,250) by jaker20 from US
What a great album. All the while I was thinking, maybe this is the direction that Mariah should take? Midtempo songs that are pop but have a classic sound to them. Light bops and not too serious, it reminds me of a bunch of pop songs that all sounds like Always Be My Baby.

AIWFCIY (104,249) by jaker20 from US
Is now 50th biggest hit ever in BB charts. It will continue to climb in the next couple of weeks and enter top 40, becoming MC's 3rd in the chart, after OSD and WBT. By the end of this season it could be the 15th biggest hit ever, surpassing The Beatles' Hey Jude. Needless to say, next year will be big huge year for Mariah, with the MC album's 30th anniversary.

Congratulations. What a speech, I really felt it. Bravo Mariah. By the way, was there Dwanye Johnson in the audience? Sweet smile for Mariah. When Mariah said: music belongs to her soul. And Mariah's music belongs to my soul too.

I've always loved her speaking alto voice. So cool and "sexy". I could listen for hours, just Mariah talking. Lol. Her speaking voice is calming to me.

I 100% agree with this post through and through haha. I was surprised everyone was praising the tributes (I didn't even bother with OSD) and I was like am I the only one thinking they are awful like I get it, it's a tribute and not a mimicry and the artists put their own spin on it but this wasn't it. I absolutely loved her speech, she was animated, funny, looked absolutely stunning. She looked like she time travelled back to 2005. This is also the most animated I've seen her in a while. For some reason in most of her previous appearances or performances (not talking about the tour I haven't seen any clips of that yet) she has been very stiff like she was afraid to move. I can't put my finger on it but there was just a lack of energy and movement. She has been getting a lot of press lately and she's all over. She teamed with 2 huge brands Mattel and Victoria's Secret. I hope she keeps the momentum going and releases a non holiday album fresh off her holiday domination.

It was lovely to see Mariah acting so humble, she seemed calm and together here. I hope she takes comfort in the fact she's a respected artist and sees these great singers singing her songs and thinks how important her craft is, and not focus so much on how she looks, and gets back to what she does best. She's seemed like her old self sat there and didn't come across as a diva.
