Re: The good and bad of Record Store Day (100,212) (100,219) by Susana from USA
Underground Sounds has 3 copies left to purchase online. It is $40 plus $5 to ship. I hope you can get one. This is how I bought mine.

Re: The voice (100,215) (100,218) by Mara from United States
Totally agree. In the concert she sang in full voice rather than whispering and her voice was strong. My first time seeing MC in Atlantic City Charmbracelet and she came out singing Heartbreaker in that two piece silver ensemble and all I can remember was how incredibly beautiful she was. Like really really beautiful. She sounded incredible.

I loved the different p.o.v of this writer and found it to be a fair review of sorts.

Oops, of course I meant "I only wanted" instead of "After Tonight". It's because I love all the three "latin ballads" (My All, After Tonight and I Only Wanted).

Her vocals on "After Tonight", "Subtle Invitation" and "Bringin' on the heartbreak" are fantastic. I love them. But I also understand that a lot of her fans didn't like Charmbracelet at first listen. I enjoyed it and still do. "Lullaby" is so cool. The Charmbracelet lyrics are great too. The concert was a real dream come true, I still wish it was available on DVD.

Re: The voice (100,208) (100,214) by Yleg from Ukraine
Mariah chose her breathy style for Charmbracelet. She even sounded stronger but people didn't resonate with that less singable tracks. that’s the takeaway for TEOM. She and Jermaine removed that breathy vocals to a simpler throat attack for the whole album like WBT, Circles.

I am sorry hear that Brad. Call Grimeys in Nashvile on Tuesday, Goner Records in Memphis on Tuesday and Phonoluxe in Nashville on Friday. They reopen on those days. They will ship to you. Also, one of the CD Warehouses in the Atlanta area that I shop at still has 3 copies left. Email me at mercyjames678@gmail.com if you are interested.

The good and bad of Record Store Day (100,212) by Brad from USA
On the positive, it seems like all the independent record stores in Connecticut that participated in Record Store day 2022 sold out of Mariah's special re-issue of #1s. On the not so positive, it seems like those stores that received it only got 1 or 2 copies and none can be found now. Without a little luck in the universe, I guess I missed out.

#1's vinyl (100,211) by Bobby A from United States
I hope everyone picked up a copy yesterday. Has noticed how crystal clear the vocals are on this release? The sound is unbelievable this time.

Re: BBE UK iTunes (100,209) (100,210) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Yes, it's incredible. I'm so happy for Mariah's success, and it's so fun that the kids get to know how cool Mariah was back in the day, and that she is more than a Christmas act. Anytime You Need a Friend is currently at #1 on the iTunes RnB Top 100 in the UK, I have never experienced Mariah being on top of that list. Big Energy Remix has really put Mariah back on the map, and I admit, I had lost faith in that happening again, and she does it with a 27 year old song, one of the best songs she has ever made. What a time to be a Mariah fan.

The voice (100,208) by Bobby A from United States
What album did you know that MC's voice was in trouble? It was Charmbracelet for me. I could not listen to Charmbracelet for the longest time after its release. I just did not like the breathiness of MC's voice. It wasn't until I obtained a copy of the Japanese edition with Miss You and The One remix with Bone Crusher that I was able to listen to the album again. Her voice recovered on TEOM and E=MC2. Many of you will probably say Butterfly was it for you.

P Diddy is the host and executive producer. Hopefully, MC will perform with Latto.

This is a smart move and I think she will be a surprise performer. The song has had a slow climb and I think it will end up having legs throughout the summer.

I would be down for Mariah to perform at the BBMA but only if she would be moving on stage, if she is going to stand in one place with this jam then no just play her vocals.

Re: Billboard Music Awards (100,203) (100,204) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
While previously I would have been like slim chance of that happening, but Latto tweeted that's she's performing at BBMAs followed by the 777, lotto abs butterfly emojis. She only puts the butterfly emoji for Mariah. So this tells me either Mariah is going to show up or the remix will be performed. Also BER is the first time in recent times I've seen Mariah promote a song so much. Usually she just drops it and goes into hiding. But this time she talked about it on her insta live, then made that pool snippet of her with BER playing in the background. I would have thought the moment Mariah didn't get credited on BB for 2 consecutive weeks she'd just drop it haha. It's nice to see she's still rooting for it.

Billboard Music Awards (100,203) by Carlos from Brazil
I really hope Mariah could join Latto on the BBMAs performance. I really wish Mariah could also walk the red carpet. Give us the looks, the hair, the festiveness and maybe interact with the new generation of singers while she is there cause she is a respected legend and should leave the house once in a while. Lol.

Masterclass (100,202) by Ricardo from New Zealand
Best thing to watch ever. Now we have documentation of her detailing all from voice to song writing to producing and a bit more - and get to watch the process. Her perfectionist really comes through too. She must be so disappointed in herself when she delivers a less than desirable live performance these days.

BE continues to do well (100,200) by jaker20 from US
I don't know if Mariah will be credited but it's looking like BE will be around throughout summer. If Mariah and Latto's teams play it right, they could push it to the finish line.

It's interesting to note that the song that will probably hold off BE is somewhat a similar situation. Which is Jack Harlow's First Class which samples Fergie's Glamorous. Similarly the best part of the song is Fergie's part, without her getting credit. It would be interesting if she ends up pushing to get credit. It now looks to me like BE release just wasn't properly planned, or they didn't know it will blow up.

Overall, its a sad state of music these days, and how the new artists get all the credit.

Re: H.A.T.E.U. (100,194) (100,199) by Jono from USA
It's one of my favorite songs from Memoirs. But for me, "Ribbon" takes the cake. Her vocal layering and how in the coda she accentuates the melody with the whistles. It is so stunning and genius.

Mariah is on fire. The Big Energy Remix is a bonafide hit and during her MasterClass courses she's not only gorgeous, she's more importantly likeable and articulate. Both of these moves have set the stage for a well deserved comeback. The Big Energy Remix and her reinterpretation of The Roof with Brandy is proof if any was needed that she still has it if any proof was needed and her voice is in fire form.

Masterclass (100,196) by Edward from USA
I'm actually speechless after watching the masterclass. Stating you're a songwriter and producer is one thing, but to actually see her working on her songs, it's a breath of fresh air. This is the type of content I thought we would all experience on Mariah's World. I have a new respect for Mariah and her artistry. As much I loved Whitney and like Celine, Mariah is definitely is in a league of her own. The session where she talks about the lyrical contents of "Looking In", "Outside", "The Roof" and "Sunflowers for Alfred Roy" catapulted me back to those days reminding me why I became a fan. As for "The Roof", I can now appreciate it for what it was intended to be, a re-imagened version, not just a ramake. I'm very hopeful for new music.

Masterclass - taking care of your voice (100,195) by TheWind from England
I loved the masterclass sessions. Seeing Mariah produce should be enough evidence for any doubter as to how good of a songwriter and producer she is. However, did anyone else notice in the taking care of your voice session, that Mariah didn’t really show any real knowledge of how to warm her voice up, or protect it beyond using humidifiers and not talking. That really surprised me and shows that perhaps a proper vocal coach for a prolonged period of time could help her. No disrespect intended towards Mariah or the sessions. I thought they weee fascinating and that her voice was gorgeous throughout. I loved every minute. It was just something I noticed.
