I for one am glad he's gone and hope he stays gone. I think everyone on this board forgot why he was banned. I can appreciate people having different takes and different opinions about MC but Andrew's opinions weren't just about Mariah. His very last stunt was being extremely violent towards me and a few others on this board. He resorted to name calling, personally attacking and just making outrageous posts that had no business here. All because he didn't agree with my views. I get some people who know him say that he was going though personal stuff but no amount of stuff going on in your personal life justifies viciously attacking someone on a freaking messageboard. Not only was he a bully, he also never considered that the person he's throwing insults at may have personal things going on themselves but didn't resort to his level of insult hurling. His language had gotten so bad when responding to me the webmaster had to stop posting them. Not only included abusive language he would also constantly demean people for their English, myself included when English isn't our first language. He was petty, a bully and downright abusive and this wasn't the first time he did that to me at least and wouldn't have been the last if he wasn't stopped.

I hope MC wins 100% with Here For It All. I want Sugar Sweet to be at least in the top 10 on the Hot 100 when her album drops. That would be so sweet for MC. I hope The Clark Sisters collaboration becomes a huge gospel radio hit and people start talking about it on social media. I hope one of the ballads on the album becomes a LTT moment for MC. September 26, 2025 is going be a huge day for MC filled with good reviews and TV appearances and a hopefully a GMA or Today Show performance.

Whilst I love that Mariah is still putting out music I can't help but wonder what went wrong for Mariah. I've just heard Without You on an Instagram post which to me is the pinnacle of Mariah in 1993, you couldn't get much better than that. To now her latest single Sugar Sweet (which I don't mind) but let's be honest she can barely sing this tune and it isn't very taxing on the voice as a were her earlier hits. When I hear old school Mariah I can't help but feel sad at where we are now. A complete transformation of personality and a huge degrading of vocals. What happened? Was it self inflicted or is it just natural wear and tear of a once untouchable voice. I would love to rewind to 1993 when her career took off internationally and just remind her to stay grounded and focus on what's important. I've said this multiple times but I just don't get how we went from Mariah to MC it's such a contrast of personalities. Her early cross over stuff was cool but as I've said countless times she took it too far and I think the partying etc took a toll on her vocals and ate away at her wholesomeness. She might say and pretend that she's always been hood but I remember those early days and there was no pretence, just a natural girl living her best life. Yes we all change but we're still recognisable, I think Mariah took it too far and now she doesn't even recognise herself. Her appearance last night on Jimmy Kimmel is a far cry from who she once was, I would love to sit 1993 Mariah down and show her 2025 Mariah. I don't even think she would relate to that.
I'm speaking from the heart and probably don't understand the ins and outs of the celebrity lifestyle and how it affects you both physically and mentally. But part of me wants to understand what went wrong and what happened to Mariah and why she's so affected now and her voice has taken such a turn. It's great she's still giving us music but vocally and especially personality she's a far cry from what she was. I don't even think Mariah knows herself anymore she's that affected. I reminisce of her dancing on the beach with "to be around you" playing out to her now barely able to focus or speak and can't but help to want to say to her it's ok to be Mariah again.

"TikTok is gonna eat this up." Maybe this is a reason I don't "feel" this song yet. I think younger ones will indeed like it. But "Type Dangerous" has grown on me plus the remixes. "Motorcycle man has a yen for me" somehow stays in the ear. And I love the Straisand [sic] song. Lol. It reminds me of a Disney movie. The new album stays excited.

Since I heard the snippet and the full song didn't disappoint. I do hope she's got an MC only version with a second verse because how is she gonna perform it when she's on stage without Kehlani and Sheseea? They have a lot of real estate in the song.
It's a certifiable bop, much more than Type. She's using her comfort zone for the more "poppy" songs now GTFO vocal texture just like on Type. I predict a top 20 BB and depending on how the album performs, even higher. I like that it's an all female collab. Her lyrics, I am marinating on right now. One line gave ne pause but I'm used to Mariah's trolling so it could mean nothing. TikTok is gonna eat this up

I thought she's going to perform Type Dangerous or Sugar Sweet. That would boost more attention to either of the songs. If she's lazy to answer all the questions during interview, then why can't she be there for the performance? Less talking and more singing.

I like the "Sugar Sweet", but I don't think the other two girls were really necessary. The chorus is super catchy, I've caught myself humming it without even thinking. I was hoping for at least a few of those signature Mariah high notes sprinkled in, just to give it more of her touch. As for the charts, I really hope it picks up on streaming. "Sugar Sweet" definitely feels like a step in the right direction.

I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but based on my personal interactions with Andrew, I honestly think he's a good guy. Like anyone else, he was probably just going through something at the time. He's left the board a few times before, but I get the feeling this time it might be for good. With that being said, I don't think Eric would stop him from coming back, as long as he sticks to the rules.

The evolution of Mariah Carey (110,079)
by Edward from USA

Jamie, I've wondered the same thing. Mariah used to be so grounded, with this effortless innocence. She was sexy without even trying, and that voice was just next level. That combo is what made her so special. It's sad, but at least we have her amazing back catalog to fall back on. I'm really hoping "Here For It All" has at least one huge power ballad. I kind of feel like this might be her last album. With how the voice has been and how long she takes between projects, I'm not sure what she'll sound like in another five years. Hopefully she goes out with a bang, a critically acclaimed album and maybe a couple of Grammys to top it off.

MC is in love. I have to admit that the lyrics from Sugar Sweet suggest that they are about someone very special in her life. I guess when we when hear their duet, we will know extent of their relationship. I don't think MC has ever used "baby" so many times in her lyrics. It seems like she wants the ring to get married again.

I agree I think the hairstylist and make up artist did good. Just the styling was a bit of a mismatch. There shouldn't have been any straps on the clavicles. Because it became straps + her ginormous necklace + crazy amount of hair + overly done boobs. It was way too much. Should've removed straps, add some sort of lace material to hover her boobs, put the hair completely on the back (or maybe just one side) then a more subtle necklace piece to completely accentuate and feature her neck and clavicle area. This would've been be a more polished, clean look.
I noticed Mariah sports these extra "slutty" looks when she's in peak romance. She quite literally wore lingerie on Ellen in 2009, just a year after getting married to Nick.

Based upon the #5 charting postion of Sugar Sweet on iTunes today and Type Dangerous still rising on the radio airplay charts, I feel Here For It All is going to do very well during the first sales week. And we still haven't received the full tracklisting with features and full writing credits. I feel some writers were deliberately left off the Apple songwriters credits list that we saw to keep their feature status a secret.

She seemed more laid back and "present" last night on Jimmy Kimmel. I don't know that host, but she seemed starstruck, and honestly I can't blame her. I would have been too. Mariah didn't seem bothered by the comments about her breasts so I won't be bothered either. It's not like Britney Spears at 17 being asked about her breasts. Not the best thing to bring up in an interview but Mariah is a grown up and they're hard not to notice. (Honestly, it's the first thing I noticed.)
Sidenote: it reminded me of the Mexican music icon Juan Gabriel. Interviewers would ask him about his sexuality and he would respond, "Lo que se ve no se pregunta". (What is seen does not need to be asked.)
Anyway, I think Mariah looked really pretty. Her face looked really pretty and her body was on point. Her tan was on point. Her hair looked nice. The dress is not my favorite but I don't hate it either. Since it's more naked at the top I liked that it was longer. I love that silhouette on her. I don't love the animal print but that's just me. Apparently that's the trend again. (The Pamela Anderson/Fran Drescher in The Nanny vibes.)
My niece is starting high school this year so I took her to get her hair cut and eyebrows threaded. I've been going to this eyebrow threader for over ten years and she's very good and I trust her. I waited in the waiting area and let my niece go back there by herself. I was so surprised when she came back out with super thin (Christina Aguilera in the Dirrty video) eyebrows.
I told her the whole reason I took her there was so that she wouldn't over-pluck them like I did when I was her age. I told her if she keeps plucking them that thin, over time they won't grow back the same. She said, "Yours did." (But they didn't. I had to get the soft tap powder brows to fill in the sparse spots.) Anyway, she didn't care what I had to say and told me, "I think I can maintain the thin-brow life."
So yeah. The early 90's slightly porno look is making a comeback.
I think we all want MC to go back to the girl-next-door we initially fell in love with. But she's been Ginger for a long time now. Mary Ann is gone.

Interviewer is the same as mold Ellen and Rosie but you can tell she's just starting out in late night. She's got more of podcast interview vibe honestly and she's lowkey awkward. But to be fair, we never really get anything in-depth music wise with these mainstream late night shows. Mariah may just have to book another Genius interview because that was the most journalism someone did for her catalogue. It was done by a real lamb.

I wanted Jimmy to show up and take over. I felt bad for MC when she was really being overly flirtatious at the beginning of the interview. MC became very uncomfortable in the middle of the interview when she kept flirting with MC. Jimmy would have shown some class.

I wonder what Mariah Carey smells like (110,067)

Does anyone know? Several people have said she smells really good. I really like the vibe she's bringing to the interviews I've watched today. It's like the open, happy Mariah is back. It endears me to "Ginger" a bit more.

Much anticipation yet... I do not feel it. It's a cute song but with little to none personality. Sorry, but as far in the traject of HFIA I perceive it as underwhelming.

Had to give up on the interview halfway through. Host and Mariah were both boring.

Not familiar with the interviewer lady but she kinda gave me a Rosie vibe, but a discount version of Rosie if you know what I mean. Mariah seems to be much more lively and responsive than in her other recent interviews, which is a good thing. Dress is not bad but I think they could've done better with the whole styling but hey, it is what it is.
