I know she's making a joke, but it's commanding too much time in interviews where she should be discussing the writing and recording process. Remember when she delved so deeply into the writing and recording processes in interviews to promote "Butterfly" and "Rainbow"? I would love to see that from her again. If you compare the Sugar Sweet video clip to the London photos from yesterday, you can tell the Sugar Sweet video clip is heavily edited. Why can't MC stop the diva antics and her desire to stay young? I think The Kardashians have had a negative influence on MC trying to stay young looking in the public's eye. People are not amused with her diva antics especially pop radio program diectors. These diva antics have negatively influenced the public's perception of her. Also, it is not helping that she can't sing like she used to. I have always wondered why the public loves Sza's music despite of her heavily autotuned vocals. I think it is because her lyrics are relatable and she doesn't act like a diva. This is what MC is missing in the public's eye. Maybe I am wrong and MC will drop it without an announcement today. Radio airplay is non-existent. It is ranking really low on the iTunes chart. Type Dangerous was last played on my favorite hometown Memphis Urban AC radio station V101 at 3:47am this morning. V103 in Atlanta won't even play TD. Here For It All needs a ILT/WBT/SIO sequence moment to save it. I am not trying to be negative Nancy today, but I am really concerned about the impact HFIA will make on 09.26 without a hit single on the Hot 100. Stop the nonsense (110,273) by Dave from USA While at times, I agree that it does seem like the board can pile it on concerning Mariah, that's what the board is for to an extent. I don't feel like this is one of those times. There is a distinct different between the young girl in the (First Vision) VHS tape, singing her behind off to the heavens effortlessly and describing how she is so thrilled to see her song on Billboard at number 53, excited that it's even there versus who is standing there now, miming a song (badly), showing little to no effort/energy during the performance, and thinking the image is enough to offset whatever loss occurred with her amazing vocal gift. I don't think people would have any issue with the diva persona (if) she still had the vocal chops. As a fan, I'm torn between wanting her to continue to create music but not insulting my intelligence when it comes to not being able to even put on a decent baseline performance. There was a time when I was excited to see Mariah perform because I had no doubt she would knock it out of the park. Effortlessly. Now, sometimes I'm overly nervous to watch in real time for fear her miming is obvious or that her voice can't maneuver around the simplest of notes. I often read here first before I even watch it to see what I may encounter. Trust me, I get it. Back in 99/2000 I was looked at as one of the bad guys for pointing some things out about MC. I was mainly worried about the image more than the voice back then, and it took me years to admit that something has happened to her vocal gift. Literally years for me to accept what people were already starting to whisper back then. I want the best for MC. I'm sure all of us do. Like I mentioned before, she, like every other artist, is putting herself out there for the opinions/comments. Changes (110,272) by Lara from Middle East Everyone changes, we all get it, the only one who seems not get it is Mariah. What bothers me the most is the feeling Mariah is forcing her game. She's pushing to be sexy, she's pushing to belt and sing, she's pushing to be trendy. All of those used to come effortlessly for her... and sometimes she was a trend setter. She's trying to stay the untouchable Mariah of the 90s and 00s, ironically she was at that time very relatable and "touchable". A complete opposite of nowadays. At the beginning of the interview in Jimmy Kimmel, she was asked what took you so long to make this album, to which she answered something like "I was getting it together." Now that's more that we need, relatable Mariah. I'm sure her medications are interfering with her creativity and also her weight. It's actually really well done. Those looks and slow movements of her face could probably be the result of some kind of medication. Also, ever since Heartbreaker they've done a really strange slow motion editing to her videos. I don't know the purpose and it's always bugged me. I'm just speculating about the Botox and filler. I just know a lot of people who get it and hers looks pretty good. Even on Jimmy Kimmel she looked really good. I don't know any 50 year old that looks that good in real life. I have nothing against some fun songs/lyrics but not the complete album. We all know her voice has changed but what I don't understand is, when she was so young she wrote like a grown-up person. Now she's a grown-up and the lyrics are so girly. Normally it's the opposite. Is it all to be trendy and to get to charts again? Wouldn't lyrics that are less girly not work better? Sugar Sweet YouTube reviews (110,236) by Dove from United States I just spent the last hour watching YouTube reviews on Sugar Sweet and all the ones I've watched so far seem to love the song. So maybe I'm wrong. Also, I found my Bose speaker and I can hear the boom more on that speaker. People were saying the high parts (that I think sound strained) sounded "raw" and they love it.
