Ironic (100,244) by Matty from Vancouver Canada This whole writing credit convo is beyond ironic. The lambs (as a collective) get so frustrated that Mariah is always seen as a singer in the vain of Celine and Whitney and never recognized first as a songwriter, but when a Lamb is disappointed that Mariah isn't being credited as a songwriter, on a major platform, on a signature song of hers, everyone is telling them to move on and that it's not important. Is it no wonder the Songwriters Hall of fame took so long to acknowledge MC? (Friday 6 May 2022; 23:32)

I recently discovered "the Midnight" and I thought Mariah could do one song whith synthi-pop beats. ("Blinding Lights" by the Weekend was cool.) Of course Jazz is still my dream genre for Mariah. Even the most casual Mariah fan knows that she writes all her own lyrics, and collaborates on the music. She of course wrote The Roof, and produced it with Trackmasters. Look at Emotions, they list the album as "Elsa Walking Music Vol.1" - wouldn't exactly take what's written as gospel. And not all the videos have writing credits on at all. Not a big deal. Mariah wrote the lyrics by herself, the music was written by herself and the Trackmasters (Jean Claude Oliver, Samuel Barnes, Cory Rooney). The Roof, as many know, samples "Shook Ones (Part II)" by Mobb Deep which in turn was written by Albert Johnson and Kejuan Muchita. Did Mariah actually write The Roof (100,222) by T from USA I was on her official YouTube upload for [The Roof (back in time)], and when I click the more info arrow it gives all the songs credits including all the writers but Mariah's name is nowhere to be found. After another ton of phone calls and recalling Mariah's motto of "I will hunt you down" and driving several hours to a little record store few folks frequent, I was able to obtain two copies! They were none too cheap but about what I figured they would be as to price for such a special release. I have to admit that the relatively heavy weight of the records made it much more satisfying to drive all that way than it might otherwise have been. Anyhow, thank you again for your offers of help. That is so nice to see. I hope you enjoy your releases. From what I could garner, it seems there were about 7K copies made. Mine are like #s 2294 and 2295 I think. Thank you again. Giving Me Life feat Brandy (100,220) by T from USA After hearing how Brandy elevated The Roof just simply with her background vocals it made me wonder what could've happened if Mariah got her to do backgrounds on Giving Me Life for the Caution album.
