Re: MC16 (98,567) (98,569) by Edward from USA
I think she'll release some music, but not a full album at this point and so close to Christmas. I like the fact she's not rushing it, so there's not excuse for a 10-track album or anything lackluster. I would prefer if she releases MC16 next year. The fact she hasn't been touring or been pressured by her label tells me she's crafting a very decent album, with remixes and all. She's had nearly two year, in which she hasn't had any major distractions other than eating sushi.

My gut feeling tells me that we won't receive MC16 until next year.

MC16 (98,567) by Dav from Ireland
Do we think we might get MC16 in 2021? Or is it too close to Christmas?

Imagine if she dropped a Dreamlover, Honey, Heartbreaker type single this month? One can fantasize.

Re: Music Box tour footage NYC (98,565) (98,566) by Chicago Lamb from USA
As a young music consumer in the 90's I, like legions of fans, had to hear Mariah sing everything and anything. So when re-recorded remixes were released, live performances were VHS'd, I collected and collected. I probably own 250+ Mariah releases on CD/vinyl. Thirty years into her career, the collectable and "Have to Hear" moments aren't as abundant. That's what makes this concert footage so special. Takes me back to a time when her voice was high, powerful and pristine. Normally I won't listen to a whole bootleg concert, but this was irresistible.

It really hurts now to hear her say that her mom is there. It was just to introduce the story we all already know. Patricia singing her that song, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was a one time moment. At least she complimented the see you next Tuesday

Re: Music Box tour footage NYC (98,561) (98,564) by Bill from the UK
Yeh I couldn't believe it when it came up on my YouTube Bobby A, never clicked anything so fast (actually no, my lightning speed record was staying up until the early hours of the morning to hear Here We Go Around Again the instant it became available). The upper register on All In Your Mind sounded like birdsong, it was beautiful. And the second "insiiiiiide" of Emotions, when she carries up the scale was out of this world.

Re: Music Box tour footage NYC (98,562) (98,563) by Bill from the UK
Yep agree completely. Even this amateur footage shows a much more fun and energetic concert than Tokyo Dome. I know everybody falls at Tokyo Dome's feet, but I find it one of her most boring and bland concerts she has ever done. Not helped by the audience being a sea of unenthusiastic mannequins either. Plus half the vocals are lipped studio vocals, but manipulated to a semitone lower. The Music Box Tour is 100% live, faults and all, and it's amazing. I agree that Vanishing is an absolute highlight, and swooping into the Morales mix of Dreamlover was a complete surprise.

What a concert I missed out on. If I had a time travel machine, this is where I would go. This is the concert she should release. Love that she performed one of her remixes of Dreamlover. Vanishing was out of this world. Wow. Thank you for showing me this one.

Wow. Her vocals are insane here. Love Takes Time is my highlight. Thank you Billy.

The Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Club Remix for "Touch My Body" is a banger. Check it out.

Re: Mariah "live" (98,557) (98,558) by Musti from UK
Thank you for sharing this. I'm stunned. This person truly understands not only her musicality but also her voice. The placement of the rasp is incredible. Lowering the key was very smart too, as this is what she probably would've done. Outside is a very special song for me. I remember buying Butterfly and having this song on repeat for months. It helped me a lot with coming to terms with being gay. It's strange but amazing to hear it with "fresh" vocals.

Mariah "live" (98,557) by Lee from UK
I do not know if these have been posted here before but there is a YouTube account which posts some amazing Mariah audios. They usually post acapella or stripped down versions of songs using the original studio stems of Mariah's songs. They have begun posting "live" versions of songs Mariah has not performed live before. Obviously they are intended for entertainment purposes only but they are so realistic with 'live' instrumentation, added notes, additional rasp. This "live" version of Outside is awesome. Whoever made this knows Mariah's nuances very well and is obviously a fan of Mariah's live vocals.

Re: Mariah and Ryan Reynolds in romantic comedy movie (98,554) (98,556) by 123 from USA
I disagree that she is a bad actress. She's good when she isn't playing herself or some version of her and when required to take direction. She's used to having control, and when she does, the results suck, hence that horrible Hallmark movie. She was amazing in Wise Girls. I didn't see Mariah Carey when she played Rachel. I would love another gritty role as a supporting character. A comedy would be great but only if she had 0% control.

Ex-Factor (98,555) by Billy from Greece
It's only a snippet (albeit sweet) from the Rainbow tour but still it sounds so good hearing Mariah on my favorite Lauryn Hill track.

I agree. MC would be great in a rom com. Her comedy was everything in WiseGirls.

Re: Mariah and Ryan Reynolds in romantic comedy movie (98,552) (98,553) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was going to write this too. I love Mariah, I love Ryan. I hope they can at some point collaborate on something but Mariah can't act. She's a legendary musician, singer, song writer, producer, diva and a queen but acting isn't something she's good at. She gets stiff and self conscious infront of the camera. Maybe she can have Ryan feature on her Christmas special or a music video but a full length movie, no to that.

Mariah and Ryan Reynolds in romantic comedy movie (98,551) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
It's about time for Mariah to act in a high budget romantic comedy movie with Ryan Reynolds. Mariah can sing the soundtrack too.

I understand, but MC described it like Post Malone would be singing it like Daniel Moore III has done it on demo. He has a good singing voice.

I really like the friendships that Mariah is developing in the "Cool Kids Club". I notice her, Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington and Jennifer Aniston have a fair amount of interaction on instagram, and now her and Ryan Reynolds seem to be good mates. Nice to see her having a laugh.

At this point, I'm not looking forward to any more rap collaborations. At this point, that rap thingy is so tired. It is time for Mariah to do something out of the box.

Article: Mariah Carey's "Somewhat Loved" reaches top 10 (98,547) by Bill from the UK
For a moment I was like, wow, Billboard Top 10 for Somewhat Loved, how surprising, yet delightful.

Then it turns out it's the Billboard Bubbling Under R&B Featured Female Artists Over 50 Who Have Twins chart and carried on with my life.

Post Malone (98,545) by Bobby A from United States
I listened again to MC's last Twitter Spaces chat. She mentioned that she has Post Malone in mind to duet on this special Christmas song that she has written with Daniel Moore III. I could see Post Malone on the song adding a dreamy rapper feel to it. She kind of described the song that would perfectly for his voice. Maybe I Fall Apart meets When Christmas Comes. I can see the video now with MC and Post Malone dressed in red, white and gold set in Aspen.
