Agreed. He's on there talking like he was someone in biz akin to a label boss. And you're right about timeline being all over the place. That man can't do anything without her name falling out of his mouth.
I love that ISB/Pure Imagination he did with her, but it's going to sour it for me if he keeps running his mouth.

And say that everything he is saying is true. The question then becomes: yes, and? Because it's all personal stuff that isn't anyone's business but hers. He's a leach and poor excuse of a man. He really doesn't deserve the time day from anyone not getting their lunch delivered.

I really really do hope she has some of those songs left in her and that they are in the album. I get her wanting to be current and wanting to go the more commercial route with her first single but I think if she wants another classic hit, she has to go for deeper songs. We Belong Together is a good example of how she blended both these sides and look how people responded to it. Whereas I do really like the song, I too yearn for more mature lyrics. Apparently the remix is on its way. I hope it's a strong feature and female.

A little nervous about how this song will sound live at the BET Awards. Id rather she do a high energy believable lip sync than a sub par live effort that'll serve as its introduction to the masses.

We all know Mariah's history. But, as she stated, she's just playing.

Mariah's literally listing her music videos' cameos. An evil king and castle was Honey. Motorcycle guy is Sweetheart and Beautiful. Computer nerd is Touch My Body. Construction and customs is We Belong Together as a nod to Wentworth Miller. 12th to never is Mine Eternally where Trey Songz leaves Mariah's butt in the rainforest. I think it's brilliant she's bringing up her previous works and music videos. Mariah's right - she doesn't take herself as seriously as others do.

Everyone has started referencing their previous songs in lyrics just as Mariah has done for awhile now, so she's raising the bar. It's a whole new flex.

I don't know who is working with MC on her new team, but the rollout of Type Dangerous and the interviews and visuals after June 6th have been absolutely genius. Did you see what looks like the album cover that MC posted this morning? The pose and color points to a Mariah Carey album cover. I can only think of one other artist who did this exact same type of album rollout in 1991. That album was a huge sucess for the male artist because of the work his team and label did before the album's release. I see a huge promotional plan on the horizon during the next few weeks for Type Dangerous and the release week of MC16. This era is going to be bigger than TEOM because of the media buzz is so high already for MC16. Forget about those 10 tracks from 2023. We are in store for a masterpiece coming up.

Yeah, it's sad. Nick was clearly the greatest love of her life. Their love ran so deep it produced children. It's actually really sad how love unfolded for Mariah. She saved her virginity for marriage, which shows how much she genuinely values the commitment of the union and building a stable home. You can tell she always longed for something sacred and lasting, not just for herself but for her kids too. I think a slight resentment towards Nick will always hover. She gave him quite literally everything and more, upgraded his lifestyle, carried his twins, took care of him when he was sick and then he turned around and fathered kids with anyone willing, like a bottomless degenerate. In a perfect world, I wish she would've ended up with someone truly faith-based and lowkey, maybe a successful, grounded entrepreneur who doesn't crave the spotlight and actually loves and pursues Jesus.

Mariah's been over that for a long time now. We've seen her thrive and find happiness after all of that. The horrible truth came out and she was vindicated. She's delivered some of her best work post Tommy, she's spoken her truth in her memoir, and poured it all into her music. There's really nothing left to say.

Mariah's not just anyone. She's had access to the best care and support. Judging by how things went after TEOM, it's safe to say she moved on. I highly doubt 76-year-old Tommy is anywhere near her thoughts at this point.

Now, if she were revealing something new, I'd understand. But rehashing the same story she's told a thousand times is tired, kind of petty to be honest. At this point, if she's said everything that needed to be said, she should take her own advice and "Shake It Off".

I'm glad you brought that up. I'm scrolling through TikTok and I saw a clip of Damizza's latest interview and it was disgusting what he said about her. His timelines about Glitter and the breakdown were all wrong. Not just because of what she has stated in her book, but because I was a rabid fan through that period and lived through it. He also overstated his importance in her career. He wasn't managing her, Louise McNally was. He actually said she flew private jet to convince Em to be in 8mile and she disappeared into his bedroom. I truly believe something happened between those two but nothing as sleazy. Eric I'm tryna hold back here but kinda look the other way. Damizza is a loser douchebag poser that resembles uncooked chicken and vomited pasta. A real creep.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard the brand name dropping is actually sponsored. Not just on this song, but others she has recorded too. And not just Mariah, apparently several artists engage in this. I can see it being true, or else she's just bragging about her financial status. Either way, I wouldn't categorise it as a "strong pen game" song like I would Outside, Butterfly, Languishing, Petals, Close My Eyes etc.

Infinity peaked at No. 82 and I Don't peaked at No. 89 respectively at the Billboard Hot 100. After 2017, Mariah did not chart on the Hot 100 except for that All I Want For Christmas. So let's hope Type Dangerous could chart higher than those two songs, at least top 15 like #Beautiful.

Let's hope MC16 has some strong features and pop/R&B ballads. I don't know why I feel that One Heart One Voice will be included on MC16 so that it can serve as the 2nd single. The chart sucess of One Heart One Voice will determine when MC16 is released.

Not having posted here since 2006, it's interesting to see how things have changed. Instead of focusing on chart positions and live performances, just enjoy the music. It's a fun song and isn't that deep. The same sharks are already starting to resurface (Roger Freid, Damizza) so there will be plenty of negativity for Ms. Carey to endure. There a difference between being truthful and being outright cruel. It's new music that isn't something added to the Christmas catalog. Just enjoy the moment.

I actually really like the melody of Type Dangerous but the lyrics feel tired. Why is Mariah name dropping designer labels in her songs at this point in her career. To me, this is immature and lazy song writing. I hope the rest of MC16 gives us lyrics with more substance.There is no way Mariah can perform this song live, we all know she struggles with breath control and these lyrics are delivered too quickly for Mariah to perform live. The only way she'll manage it is if she has backing singers deliver every other line as in Make it Happen.

And putting in to question the type of person she is. Is this new? This is why she feels she can't trust anyone I guess as they all eventually tell a story on them. There is probably some truths to it but you don't do that

I hope she's performing TD at BET and no Mimi medley though I would not mind an It's Like That to TD transition like the MC16 teaser clip.

As for the different guys in the song - either they should all be fictional or all past relationships. Would be weird for her to talk about someone from her old music video (motor cycle guy) but then computer boy toy also sounds like the TMB guy. Some say that's Nick though the forever guy sounds more like him or that could be Tanaka as well.

I also thought Tommy references now are a bit old and tired but maybe she did it because it made the verse more interesting and dramatic.

I wonder what her insta pic with the guys is about... bet maybe?

I think her MV video will definitely have a bunch of these guys in the video. She hinted at that in one of her interviews. They asked her about the guys and she said "you'll have to watch the video".

I wonder if they have a remix lined up already or are they waiting to see how it performs.

I'd be over the moon if the song just charts. What was her last single to chart? I don't think any of the Caution singles charted. Nor did I Don't and Infinity.

Was #Beauituful her last new song to chart? None of the remixes charted. She does not have the fan base for her songs to have a decent debut, at best it could work its way into top 40. Which would be big for her. TD is good but it's no Believe. Her best shot at the charts is a pop song with mass appeal.
