Mariah's just lacking a good collaborator (105,774) by jaker20 from US
Someone that she has chemistry with. Like Beyonce has JayZ who is essentially Beyonce's co-producer and is a full-time music artist and is in the studio full time. Or Taylor's parents, who are her money partners (I'm not insulting her, but let's face it, they're good with money and promoting her).

Mariah is on her own. In fact, her best career inspirations are the twins, who are probably behind her social media ideas. But she's not surrounded by musical nor business partners. She can't do it alone, especially a musical empire as big as hers.

TEOM era will probably the last great era (105,773) by jaker20 from US
The timing is also wrong. It should be just before It's Time moment or immediately after the holidays. Her timeline is just so messed up.

Cardi B blacked out her socials. We’ll probably know soon if the MC collab is true.

TEOM era will probably the last great era (105,770) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Rumor has it Mariah has some sort of release planned before her Vegas residency, if it's a "buzz single" I don't want it haha. All her "buzz singles" are dropped and forgotten within days. I would rather a proper era. Yes it won't be close to the TEOM era but with the right team and planning I hope we get a decent one.

TEOM era will probably the last great era (105,769) by Tevin from USA
Most people never have that level of success in their music careers. The fact that Mariah ruled the 90s and then had that amazing era in 05-06 (I'd even include 07, because of the TMB hype), was truly a blessing for her. All I hope for, is for one more top ten hit single and solid well crafted music/albums after that. I really want to see more of Mariah the artist and not just Mariah the "number one Hot 100 chaser", or half hearted just throw some music out there singer (looking at you Save the Day). I'd say, it's time to start experimenting with different sounds and types of music and or keep releasing back catalog vault items.

TEOM era will probably the last great era (105,768) by Bobby A from United States
I am not trying to sound negative, but I believe that the TEOM era will probably be the last great era. The TEOM era made people take notice of MC again. The era had everything that every artist wants: a multiple plantinum album, top charting hit singles, a sold-out tour, gorgeous and well-thought out videos, multiple awards, brillant performances, and magazine covers galore. I don't think the MC16 era or subsequent eras will give us that type of era ever again.

Boy was really ahead of its time. Also fun fact, the video shot was actually for "The One" but it was later switched to "Boy".

If y'all haven't seen already, and maybe it's also in the Archives sorry Eric, but here's an article reminiscing the making of WBT with all the people involved in it.

I forgot to add that the DJ Clue remix was also perfection. How she took a song that was already a masterpiece and then elevated it to a faster "rap-sing" version was amazing. It's still so fresh.

I think that we should just move on now. Ariana's album is just not going to be a huge seller. She is flip flopping too much from R&B back to pop this time. Where is the Thank U Next or Positions single? It is nowhere to be found on the album.

My favorite video that he directed was Boy. He made MC look so pretty with the pink and blue colors. Joseph Kahn is just a great video director.

Yes, Brett did some of her greatest videos and then we got this. Same with Joseph Kahn and #Beautiful (also don't get me started on the missed opportunity with that song). Anyways so Joseph Kahn directed some of Taylor's videos and they were all so high quality. #Beautiful was not it. It was so repetitive of Mariah spinning around and the clear as day green screen motorcycle scenes. I really hope in her new projects they have a solid visual team.

It's definitely giving shot on [iPhone] low budget video. which is shocking because it was directed by Brett Ratner, who did some of her best videos ever. It's a great song and it deserved better.

Ugh I wrote a post and then forgot to hit submit and it's now erased (if I did submit and this is a repeat my apologies) but yes that video was so random why was she on a beach crying and looking sexy? HATEU also isn't a song that you can really sing along too. LA was too stuck in his "upbeat" followed by "ballad" formula that worked for TEOM. But why not switch it up and do back to back up beats? I can't believe in a party record like E=MC2 he released "Bye Bye". After "Obsessed" a MTJF single with a few brand affiliations (since she name drops a lot of brands) shot in Italy would have been dope. Even if he wanted a slow song he could have gone with a BGK with a dark moody video. Instead we have Mariah crying on a beach.

MC remix album (105,753) by jaker20 from US
She also had lot of remixes shelved on the MOAIA, the only one that survived was the Ne-Yo and Nicky Minaj, both of which turned out to be more popular than the originals and two that went to MIAMTEC. I agree about the #Beautiful remixes, I think there's about 3 out there and they all bops. I think this is where a good management comes in, Mariah can't broker these deals to put into an album nor create new ones obviously.

Final Billboard placement for YAR (105,752) by jaker20 from US
We don't really know that 49% means that's also the portion of the remix compared to the original. That's just the overall increase of the total.

I would personally guess that the remix is already way above 50% of the total, if we consider that the remix has been stable on Spotify and way ahead of the OG on iTunes, and that the fact that the original has been freefalling in the past weeks before the remix was released. Like you said before, it's up to Billboard.

This is another situation where Mariah boosted a song, like BER, but didn't get credit. Do we want a top 10 credit? Sure. But all things considered, this is absolutely great news, not bad.

I don't remember the last time a song went back up to the top 10 after it's nearly out of the top 40 because of a remix. Without the remix the OG would have completely dropped out already.

I hope Mariah never releases anything anymore (105,751) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Obsessed was a great first choice just like TMB was a great first choice for E=MC2, but similar to the latter the next single choices and the cheesy music videos ruined it. MOAIA was going to be an ambitious project with 2 remix projects (one with high profile collabs) and it had an Elle magazine tie in. But at the end of the day what sells an album is how it's introduced to the world and the singles play a huge role in it (in my opinion). So releasing HATEU, which is a great song, don't get me wrong, but not single worthy with that hideous video, was a mess. And then IWKWLI. There were other great options which had catchy choruses and more radio friendly that could have been better choices like MTJF, BGK etc. Also the HATEU remix would have done better than the OG. Don't get me wrong, it could be joint decisions between MC and LA and not solely LA's fault, but as the label executive he should have known better. Also the comments he made when she came to epic implying she has no original hits in her and should just sing covers, I felt was a big insult to someone who puts her songwriting over her singing.

Dead haha. Yes I don't have 1 flaw I can find in WBT. It really is a masterpiece in vocals, lyrics, sampling, interpolation, layering, instrumentals and so much more.
