Nary a moment passed since I questioned a lamb's conviction that Mariah would do something new with her sound and looky here, it's posted that Mariah is in the studio with Y'all Know Who This Isn't. Lambs of the world, rejoice. Thy saviour has come. And this time he promises he has learned to pronounce some more consonants.
I am now #teamJohn. But I would say that I tried many years ago to get people to speak the truth to Mariah, but the board is largely comprised of Hard Left ideologues that believe if they don't like what someone says, that person should be silenced. Half of what I post doesn't get past the Dutchman. Imagine if it did. There'd be carnage.
When Mariah next comes to the UK I am happy to do a meet and greet for the Lambs. I won't even charge £500 for the privilege and you can have a photo for free. It won't be hard to spot me: I'm the blond guy who is singing and shouting the loudest and dancing like I think everyone is watching.

This is absolutely exasperating to read. The constant accusations about someone hating MC simply because they have a mind of their own and is able to form and express opinions is ridiculous and bordering on idiocy. Who died and made you Official Adjudicator and Sole Certifying Authority on who gets to be a Mariah fan or not? Please. Stop. This. Absolute. Nonsense. Note: Those last five words written as if they were complete sentences to hopefully get the point to hopefully (against all hope probably) sink in.

Andrew you think Mariah's a liar, a manipulator, a singer with a steadily deteriorating voice, an artist who has no originality left (or basically someone who's new work doesn't excite you anymore), then why are you still invested in her? Because you liked her in the past? That's no excuse, it's like an ex lover being an aggressive stalker. Or you think writing all these negative things would suddenly impact Mariah's approach to her personal/professional choices? It won't. Then what is it? It seems kind of pointless that nothing Mariah does whether professionally or personally excites you, yet you keep coming incessantly.

I know you like to state your hopes as facts but search inside yourself: do you *really* think Mariah’s new album will be step in a different direction? Really, honestly, hand-on-your-heart believe that Mariah’s new album won’t be Cautionx2? C=MC2?

Wow Lady B, what an accurate post. Have some edibles and enjoy life, instead of spending most of your time on a message board for a women [sic] you clearly hate.
Anyways I'm gonna write a really sweet post about the elusive chanteuse later and it's time we discuss the greatness that became my most played Mariah album of all time, even surpassed [Butterfly] a year ago.

She's back in the studio with JD and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I would love her to work with Dallas Austin. He is "new" to her sound (so it checks off that list) but he's also from the JD generation so it fits her style as well and isn't too out there.

Andrew: Says multiple ignorant, uninformed things related to US defamation law.
Me: Points out that he doesn't know a damn thing about what he's talking (loudly) about.
Andrew: Show me what I said wrong, I mean, I never studied US law but prove that I'm wrong.
Me: Gives him credit for admitting his ignorance while showing him a few ways he was wrong (which he asked for).
Andrew: HAHAAHA, I win!*

Carey's siblings are pathological liars (97,646)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
At this point, they've both been publicly caught lying. Allison has been up to her eyeballs in heroin for 40 years and is the last person to talk about "truth" and "accuracy". Interestingly enough, she never once mentions her children whom she lost in court to Mariah and Patricia. You know, the people that 'kidnapped' her kids? At least, that's what she told the press at the time. It's strange that this mother wouldn't be the least bit concerned about her kids welfare with all the "abuse" that's going on.
Then, there's Morgan. There's a winner. [...] Clearly, not violent. After claiming Allison was in a hospital in Hawaii on her death bed in desperate need of surgery, she's publicly arrested for prostitution in NY for the second time in 3 months clearly means he's full of crap. Of course, he was able to divert that by claiming satanic BS for more tabloid money. Mariah's such a monster for not giving him control of money for Allison, yet he sold all these stories about her, but didn't give a single penny to Allison. This family is a cauldron of snakes.

MC is going to come through this time. She has to work with new producers and songwriters like she did on Butterfly. She only collaborated with Sean Combs, The Trackmasters, and Missy Elliott because their sound was in heavy rotation on the radio and MTV. So, let's hope she calls up 5-6 on my previous list. If she captures her pre-TEOM sound of uptempo and midtempo jams and ballads, then she can't go wrong. And we have to get a tracklisting of at 14 songs and ballad about B.T.

Well following Randy's lead perhaps and after talking about it some with Jade, I have decided that Mariah's next album needs a o be something I need, something different, something akin to her previous visions for her careers, or I'm off. And I do mean that sincerely because I rarely, if ever, lie.
I will always listen to Mariah Carey's music - I listened to the whole of The Rarities and half of Rainbow today in between the rugby matches.
But if there is more of the same lazy, boring shit bookended by Christmas money/making, I'm off.
I hope she comes through. But I think we all know in our heart of hearts, she won't.

"Andrew, thank you for validating my opinion that you are largely ignorant as to US Law and the relevant cases."
You're welcome. However, you had that opinion beforehand and now I have validated it? I'm touched you think of me so often and so fondly.
"It takes a big person to admit they do not know what they speak of."
It takes a small one to capitalise on a lack of knowledge to which somebody else has already admitted and for which they have asked for assistance. I don't Google law. I could do; I could have done. But I did do a law degree. Yet, do you and take what you need, darling.
Also, don't end a sentence on a preposition if you're intentionally acting like an [censored]. Makes it kinda difficult to pull off your inferred superiority in the realm of law and letters.
"It is not my job to educate you in all the ways this, in my opinion, was clear in many of your statement before you admitted it, but rest assured in my opinion your stated "knowledge" of the proofs and, importantly, the burdens, gave away the game."
To reiterate, if you're going to act like the Grandmaster [censored], do use the correct syntax and do also make sure that your sentences even make sense, lol. Again, take what you need and run with it. The easy wins are fun.
"Let's give you a chance to redeem yourself."
I am certain my intellect is not in need of redemption.
"I give you credit for admitting your ignorance of US law."
Well, having admitted I didn't study it, I am exactly where I was before. You, on the other hand, have come off a bit badly here. Not exactly a "win", per se, but take what you need.
Easy wins, eh

Andrew, thank you for validating my opinion that you are largely ignorant as to US Law and the relevant cases. It takes a big person to admit they do not know what they speak of, so bravo for confirming that you merely googled the law, and did not study stateside. It is not my job to educate you in all the ways this, in my opinion, was clear in many of your statement before you admitted it, but rest assured in my opinion your stated "knowledge" of the proofs and, importantly, the burdens, gave away the game.
Let's give you a chance to redeem yourself. Do you think either ex-sibling will win their case? Do you think either will make it past MTD or SJ? Are you aware of the different burdens for a public figure plaintiff (and yes, due to their various interviews, both tv and magazines, a court would likely find both to be public figures)?
I'll end where I started - I give you credit for admitting your ignorance of US law.

Love your list enwar, although I would add Rainbow there as well. And yes, she was such a stunner during #1's. That super short scene of her in a blue dress walking on the street in the beginning of Sweetheart is so elusive and captivating.

I feel MC's team is lurking here and readings these posts, and purposely not doing what we think may help for her (maybe because of pride, thinking "Well if these plebes thought it, these are beneath her to try"). So, maybe we should say things the opposite of what we want or wish for her to do? Example: Mariah: 1. Continue with the bubbly, it's doing wonders for your voice. 2. Don't watch your lifestyle, you can always wear the tightest spanx to keep you looking fit, 3. The lyrical devolution to childish quips totally make for timeless music. Keep it up. 4. Your eyes are barely recognizable, and we don't miss your gorgeous almond eyes. More and more please. 5. Your choice of rappers lately has been great. The "I know you love me, you just don't trust me, you don't understand me... but you love it when I call you Ms. Carey" rap part is totally not cringe-y at all. Keep it up. More of this please. 5. We like that you don't make music with melody anymore. Lols - this fan has a lot of pent up feelings inside, hahahahahaha.

Top 5 music video eras (97,634)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|

1. Butterfly I mean, no competition. Mariah finally stepped up her music video game and it paid off. Each video was different than the other and they're all my favorites. Honey - sexy and fun, Butterfly - artsy, Breakdown - sleek and colorful, The Roof - sophisticated, My All - classy.
2. The Emancipation of Mimi Stepped it up again and it showed. Right off the bat It's Like That showed this era was going to be something else, something big and exciting. Love the 2-part concept. Shake It Off still makes me laugh. The dark colors in DFAU. Love them all.
3. Caution Can't help but feel these videos were slept on. I do think in time more people will discover and appreciate them as well as the album. Love the deep, rich colors in GTFO. Video fits the slinky song perfectly. With You is classy and beautiful, again fits the song perfectly. Love the blue and pink colors in A No No that represented the Caution era and love the super matte look of the video. I can totally picture this being a video album where all songs had cool videos. Sigh.
4. Emotions Despite everything above, 30 years later ( ) I may go on record saying this song and video are my faves from Mimi. I just love the young, fun, simple, carefree, effervescent vibe of both, the different color tints of the video, and seeing people having fun together... what a concept. Maybe art was imitating life and this was before the drama started. Can't Let Go is another perfect match of song and video, so young but so elegant and classy. This era truly feels underrated yet there's something special about it and about the early 90s in general. Maybe being eternally 12 truly is a thing.
5. #1's/ MIAMTEC Was she a stunner during #1's or what. During those scenes with the pony in I Still Believe, she just exudes so much beauty. You can tell she was happy. And she was showing off the killer bod in Sweetheart. Also Pure Imagination is so random but cute.
Can't seem to have a top 5 or top 10 list on this board without a hyphen, tie or honorable mentions so just for laughs, MIAMTEC. Solely because of You're Mine (Eternal). This song is so dreamy and the video makes it even more so. Love the rainforest and her gold dust glitter nymph look, she looks great and her hair is awesome. Still surprised it got so much hate. This is another one I think will age well.
