Thanksgiving festiveness (104,215) by Lady B from USA
Did anyone else see the social posts from people close to her around Thanksgiving? It looked like a happy, relaxed and festive moment. That's all that matters and is all I want for her at this stage of her life.

The sound of MC16 (104,212) by Andrew from the UK
What Mariah Carey albums where not "cohesive bodies of work"? Once again, genuinely interested.

Billboard performance (104,211) by Andrew from the UK
So it was Mariah Carey's best performance of 2023 because of her singing, you say. Cool. But could I ask you to specify which lines, out of the ones she sang live, you liked? I know the song very well so could you just tell me the specific lines, perhaps. Out of the ones she sang live, I mean. Genuinely interested.

The sound of MC16 (104,210) by Bobby A from United States
What do you want MC16 to sound like? What producers do you want MC to work with? It has to be another cohesive body of work like Caution. I would love for her to work with Babyface, Bizness Boi, Darhyl Camper, Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, Pop and Oak, Wrabel, Akeel Henry, Deputy, Nova Wav and Ryan Tedder.

New song in the background? "I'm looking for... looking for my love."

This is why she will never give up on Christmas. It rubs off on her entire catalog.

Billboard performance (104,207) by Bobby A from United States
I am only going to be positive about the Billboard performance. The Lovers and Friends and Global concerts were not good vocally when she didn't lip sync to pre-corded tracks. Overall, she sounds better than she did 6 months ago. Either she had sought vocal training or her weight loss has improved her vocal abilities. I feel hopeful for MC to get her new album completed in 2024.

Daydream30 (104,206) by Andrew from the UK
What does everybody think will be the live release for this? Will it be Mariah Carey live at Madison Square Garden? It would be great to have this on Spotify but I ask because it would be possibly a third release of a live Mariah Carey record feature pretty much the same songs.

Don't get me wrong, I love the MSG special and really want it on streaming. But it would be really really good to get Butterfly in Hawaii/Australia and The Adventures of Mimi etc on there, too. Must we wait years and years? I want post '96 live songs on there.

Billboard performance (104,205) by Andrew from the UK
Could you list the positives of Mariah Carey's performance at Billboard? To caveat: not in terms of the ice-skating or what she wore or the background singers or the set design, etc., but in terms of Mariah Carey's performance, only. What was so good about it as to be called the "best this year" and, in that vein, what were the others you have seen this year lacking? Genuinely interested.

Mariah Barbie (104,204) by Andrew from the UK
£100 for a Barbie doll of Mariah Carey that looks absolutely nothing like Mariah Carey? And 4000 have been sold? Anyone who does not think that this is total madness is, themselves, in the throes of total madness.

She has stopped using her hands when she performs live too. Her career has changed since E=MC2. Let's hope Usher (with LA. Reid influencing him) asks MC to join him on the Superbowl stage. The Superbowl event would add another accomplishment for MC. I believe it will happen because Usher mentioned her name because of the possibility that MC will be featured on a new album.

Amazon has some for $117 sale price. Four thousand have been sold on Amazon in the past month. Quite pricey at a regular price of $139.

Bye Bye is when she first spent time with Nick. They were married 6 weeks later. She wasn't preggers then. That happened later. I do agree with Andrew, Mariah fell after #Beautiful and has been extra careful since. She broke her rib and dislocated her shoulder. The nerve damage she received down her left side got better, but she never stated if it fully healed, only that she did get full movement of her arm back. She's always worn high heels. They've just got higher and some of the corsets she wears aren't good for breath control. I think she's hyper focused on body structure for her diaphragm while hitting notes.

I liked it a lot. Even if it was a backing track, the lip syncing was good. She looked like a winter Barbie.

Yes I agree. I observed that the "stiffness era" began during the performances of Just Stand Up and I'm That Chick at Fashion Rocks 2008. She was never the same again.

It was a very noticeable shift. Immediately right after the TMB video, she was completely different in how she carries herself. Like I said, that video is probably the last time that we've seen Mariah move as much. So clearly whatever it is that caused her being stiff happened immediately after that.

Merry Christmas (LP) (104,193) by Bobby A from United States
Great gesture Weston, but the general public doesn't even know MC released Merry Christmas II You. First, Def Jam's promotion of it was very poor. L.A. Reid was not happy to hear MC wanted to do a second Christmas album. Second, you can hardly find a used CD copy of it during the holidays. Def Jam didn't produce many copies of the CD. Since 2020, you can find the vinyl version more in the stores. Finally, Merry Christmas will always out perform the sequel because of AIWFCIY.

Oops, I misread your post for Merry Christmas II You. Too many glasses of Trader Joe's Two Buck Chuck.

So, we finally got the ever-so-fabulous AIWFCIY to #1 after many, many years. Any ideas on how to get her flawless Merry Christmas album up to the well-deserved #1 spot on the Billboard 200 this year? I seriously feel like it could still achieve this feat. And give her that 7th #1 album. #JusticeForMerryChristmas
