Capital's Summer Ball (109,390)

I liked it too. She was more energetic and interactive, and the performance was very consistent overall. But truth be said, everything was lipped except for a couple of notes here and there.

Capital's Summer Ball (109,353)

I just watched the Summer Ball, and I actually liked it a lot. Almost everything is prerecorded, but it seems like it's her current voice, it's much deeper, she can't belt, but a few high notes here and there. And funny thing is, she actually sang a few notes and frases live, and those live notes, are actually pretty good. I wish she could have the confidence to actually sing, she has to break the barrier soon.
She doesn't care if it looks like she is lip synching or not, but she does it a tad bit more believable than in China. She doesn't move her muscles in her face, but at this point I'm affraid it has with botox to do, it's quite strange how emotionless her face has become.
She moves a bit more freely, and I actually think her outfit looked modern, almost a bit of a image change from the gowns and the big hair. She was not tacky, it fitted her well, she seemed young, but her own age at the same time, and not desperate to be sexy.
I'm quite pleased with the performance.

Promo (109,389)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I hope Mariah does some creative promo that has wide audiences. Example when in UK she could have done the Chicken Shop Date show with Amelia. It's an awkward funny type of interview and Mariah could have really let her humor shine. I know she's doing a lot of radio interviews but got to mix it in with some popular ones.

Spotify is the problem (109,388)

I just don't understand why these special playlist deals are even allowed to be a part of chart ranking determination. The special playlist deal really set up Sabrina Carpenter to debut at #1 on the Hot 100. It is chart manipulation to the fullest. Hopefully, Mimi will continue to rise on the Hot 100 during the next 5 weeks. I hope the remix is on the way with a high profile rapper.

Mariah back on the Hot 100 at 95. Congrats. She's back with a solo song so I'm happy. I hope they keep promoting for it to chart for a bit longer. Fingers crossed for a remix.

Okay so when I saw that massive runway I was fearing for my life but God bless her she managed to pull it off. So she moved and walked unaided, has finally axed that annoying "stick finger in ear and waggle head" theatric when lipping a high note, engaged with the crowd (how sweet was little Sophia), seemed present, didn't go on about the lighting, was confident, and actually gave the type of performance you'd expect from Mariah Carey. To think a few weeks back she looked like she was about to drop down dead and now here she is like she walked out of 2008. What a turnaround. I mean sure she still lipped her way through almost everything but I can forgive that due to her actually putting in some damn effort for once.
Well done.

I thought the same. The walking up and down that huge stage, I loved it. It was like the good old days. The aliens have finally brought Mariah back. Remember the "rumour"? Lol. But seriously she looked fantastic, was interactive and the special concert was wonderful. Please more of that. That's the Mariah I've been missing. "Hero" was so heartfelt and always gets me. It reminded me of her late 90ies gigs. The setlist was great. How cool was "Type Dangerous" and the "It's Like that" version. The band and backup singers were so good too. I'm absolutely pleased while watching.

Agreed. It's nice to see her smiling again, enjoying the moment. I loved the Summertime Ball look. Beautiful. While the voice has changed, Mariah's talent has not. TD proves that she is capable of putting out a song with a solid video that doesn't require Emotions-like vocals to sell it. Well done, MC.

I don't think it's about confidence or the lack of it. Confidence alone doesn't magically produce a voice that's no longer there. At this point, it's clear she's not putting herself through that anymore. "The Voice" has always been the centerpiece, but as it's changed, her approach should too. I actually respect that she's working with whatever she has left, no more gimmicks, no wall of background vocals, no smoke and mirrors. Just as is. I think she should keep it simple and lean into the artistry that's still there. Like I said before, chart positions aren't the point anymore. What matters is the music. And right now, we've got a fresh single and a solid video, and that's good enough for me.

Honestly, I haven't seen the rules, especially the one with all capitals. I apologize.
But wouldn't be just easier to switch all capitals to small letters instead of deleting the whole word and making the author of the post to look like an idiot?
It is hard enough that I am translating everything to make sure that everything is understandable (since English is not my native language) and not to mention googling gay terms so that I can keep up since I am not gay and sometimes do not understand all the references.

So I watched it twice. My thoughts and 2 cents. - The video seems to be a mix between ILT, Boy and Slave For You. - I think Mariah looked absolutely stunning in every shot, my favourite being her "Britney" look with the black smokey eyes and the Mr. Beast scene where she looked like she's straight out of TEOM era. I love the risks she took with her looks including the red lip. She looked stunning in the silver bedazzled look to but that's her usual look. - I thought JK said the video was longer than we think? But it wasn't. Or did he mean that we'll keep pausing on the boys haha. - First high budget video after a while but I think it lacked a strong storyline or I missed it. I like the different "acts" being different men but I wish there was some context and dialogues like Honey/Heartbreaker. The CGI was a bit too much for me especially the diamond one in the first act lol. I was hoping for something more like "Boy is mine" video from Ariana. - I heard there are more cameos other than Mr Beast. Which is smart to introduce her to new audience. I hope their contracts have requirements for them to post over the next few days. I'm dead at the "I don't know him". - Why were the all laying on the floor in pain? - Why was she so stiff in the first act? I get being nervous on stage but she literally had full control here.

Was the mv Bianca or Mariah? (109,373)
by Carlos from Brazil

"Bianca Industries" is a direct homage to Britney Spears' "Toxic" video where there is a "Toxic Industries" sign above the building just like on the "Type Dangerous" video. Also the motorcycle scene are very familiar in both videos. Of course both directed by Joseph Khan. Queens supporting queens.

I saw at the end something called "Bianca Industries" on the building. So, how many of those men did "Mariah" kill? Looks like she poisoned a lot of them, then there's the blinding, the binding, and dropped from a building. Mariah's slaying people literally, I'm kinda here for it. I wonder if the other videos will tell a story.
I'm surprised by the Mr. Beast thing. I know he talked about being in an MC video several weeks ago, but I'm surprised he'd do it if he knew he was getting dissed in it. He's a sensitive type and not the best of people. What he's willing to do for views at the expense of others is pretty bad.

I'm so proud of Mariah. It's like she has been saving all her energy for this show. When she did sing live, she sounded great and even the new pre-recorded vocals were smooth. The musicians pulled it out of the bag with instrumentals. I hope she can keep up this level of energy for when she returns to play at Sandringham in August. The dancers have really stepped it up too. Was anyone else unable to not take their eyes off the ginger dancer?

Ok so BETs. Tell me why this woman looks like she's still in her early 30s. She looked absolutely breathtakingly stunning and every bit the mega star she is clad in that gorgeous gold mini dress fit for the music industry's golden girl. I liked that she was more playful with the performance, I do wish she wore more comfortable shoes so that she had the confidence to strut around by herself and strut onto the stage during the opening of the song it would have made it more fierce but I see her trying and I'll take it. I absolutely loved her second look too, she looked so angelic and pure and her speech was amazing. The little humor, her embracing her diva and extraness. This is a new Mariah era not just album wise but personally too. I also hear her team discounted the song right after BETs a smart move. I'm liking how her team is handling her so far. The roll out of this era has been amazing. I can't wait for the video.

I loved it. For the most part, she sang live and her voice, its sound and texture, is so much better now than at the start of the decade (2020). I think she must've read our comments and gotten professional help. There's fluidity back in her registers and she sounds "freer", the confidence is coming back too. This performance was very good and a step in the right direction. I also love that she's unapologetically, celebrating her accomplishments thus the "song of the decade" introduction for WBT, no "Humbleriah" here. Lol.
