SZA/Apple (111,460) by BFF from United States I found SZA to be really annoying in that interview ("Hi queen", "You are everything", etc. is just way too much). I definitely enjoyed the Gayle King interview much more. The whole "Flowers" concept and the performative fangirl routine from all of these "Johnny come lately" Mariah fans makes me roll my eyes. I ventured out on 9/11/2001 after they released us from school to buy the "Glitter" album and purchased multiple copies of the "Loverboy" single to help with the effort to get it to #1. I'm a fan who remembers when you would be pilloried for openly liking Mariah, so I am unimpressed by much of this lol. (Thursday 25 September 2025; 15:34)

First impression (111,490) by Max from Germany My first impression: Mariah has made an album in which she has embarked on a new musical direction. Her voice is very different in quality and a bit above the level of Caution. So far, I like every song except "Play This Song". I'm impressed by "Nothing is Impossible". The solo version of "Sugar Sweet" is one of the best songs of the album. I don't like the full version of "Here For It All" as much. The snippets sounded better. "Mi" is also very good, as is "My Love". My absolute favorite: "In Your Feelings". "Jesus I Do" is a bit lame. "Confetti and Campagne" is also interesting in conjunction with "I Don't Allow It". Here For It all - first listen (111,487) by Terna from Nigeria ‎It's a very solid album, with no fillers honestly, but with all her records, I gravitate towards some songs more than others and form opinions and sentiments of course. So far I have played the record through only once but specific songs on repeat, these are the ones that connected for me, more than the others. ‎1. Confetti and Champagne (I llove it and it's already on repeat.) ‎2.Mi ("Bragging rights riah" haha, that's right own that sh*t and that beat is wicked.) ‎3. "Nothing is impossible" (Mariah Carey's testimony, and I will never take it for granted.) ‎4. "Play this song" (A chuck full of that 70's sound. You can tell they were inspired by that it.) ‎5. "In your feelings" (Even from the clip posted, I liked it and love it now that I heard it in its entirety.) ‎Vocals are as best as she's capable of currently, that metallic edge has taken over most of her voice and constricts her upper register access. ‎This is an R&B/Soul record with a strong leaning to the 70's era sound. We all know that album is 5 stars and a 10/10 and Mariah definitely deserved the Grammy for AOTY. People have to remember there are many in the industry and editorial boards still to this day who hate Mariah and don't want her to break The Beatles record or be successful. I already know HFIA is going to be one of Mariah's best albums but before I give it a listen I will be listening to Caution. The critics have been very cynical and bias from the beginning when comes to her style of music and singing; and here we are decades later, legendary, and still creating songs that has helped people: articulate their first love connection, overcome a heartbreak, believe in themselves, restore their faith, dance, enjoy life, celebrate victories, and comfort you through all of life's up and downs. What would I look like overvaluing the opinion of someone who just thinks it's cool to not see the value in her music. If anything they discredit themselves for trying to deny her obvious impact. Touring (111,480) by Dove from United States I think she should stop touring too. She needs to rest. I love seeing her on stage in her magical, glittery ensembles but I would rather she rest and spend her time with her kids and release a studio album once in a while. For the art and fun of it. I mean, they're fourteen. In a few years they'll start their own lives. She should cherish every moment. Growing up, my mom never worked. I remember feeling so safe knowing my mom was always home. Even if I was being a brat or too cool for my mom I loved knowing she was there if I needed her. Not every mother has the luxury of being able to stay home most of the time. She could still connect with fans through social media and doing public appearances sparingly. She could keep the Christmas residency going since it's only a few weeks out of the year. I felt like a complete idiot during the Sza interview, when someone in the crowd had a CD, and she played snippets, and I had to ask my Mariahbro has the album been released? I did not know it was recorded by a group named Chick and released with MC backing vocals and as a hidden writer. I really thought she had it in the vault and no one had ever heard the music period. Now I've completely lost interest. Ya'll wanna hear her vocals over it but I just feel deflated about hearing the real singer of a Milli Vanilli esque story. I'm so deflated. But maybe the lawsuits, the guilt and all the emotions that came after releasing it, made her go back to just not saying much. It's always middle of the road. We really kind of just get surface level answers. It's starting to be uninteresting and predictable. I was really expecting more raw interview answers like these. Other writers are complaining that she seems "too relaxed", as if that's a bad thing? Maybe Mariah's tired of the drama and just wanted to put together an album that was fun and healing for her? She's been working like a dog the last year or so, and she's clearly exhausted. But ultimately nitpicking is what critics do to line their resumes and earn their living, so we really should take it with a grain of salt. The reviews for "Butterfly" on its initial release in 1997 were not amazing, but it went on to be considered her best album by many.
