Do you really go to some kind of college? Please post which one so that others may know not to send their children to it.
Please also post your personal details so that I may have my solicitor empty your bank account into mine. Silly child.

Truth is constant, but how it is received and eventually re-told is relative to who it is presented to. The same way the Earth is an oblate spheroid but will always still be disputed by flat-Earth believers for whatever reason they have. Just like how several witnesses to a phenomenon may re-tell their experiences differently. The late Olivia de Havilland sued the producers of Feud for what she felt was an inaccurate portrayal of her in the miniseries, but her case was dismissed on the grounds that no one can ever own history.
The memoir is exactly what it is - a scrapbook of memories as recalled by the author. Their recollection may very well be biased or even faulty, so fully knowing this, why should we expect documentary-level accuracy from Mariah's retelling of her story? This isn't to excuse her for possibly twisting and tweaking some things around here and there to fit her narrative, but we knew damn well that this was something she was going to tell the way she wants to, for better or worse, and yet we didn't need any form of coercion to buy the book anyway.
Of course anything put out there especially for public consumption is subject to questioning and commentary. The great thing about this freedom is that it goes both ways - so we might as well spend as much time questioning Mariah's family members' claims as well. If we're gonna be skeptical and investigative then wouldn't it be just fair that we extend such energy equally to all parties involved, especially if the goal is to get to the truth?

A new low (97,603)
by We are lambily from USA

I'm pretty much numb from the crap that comes from your mouth. But Andrew that was a new low. Let's start from the top. Memoir: "A memoir is a narrative, written from the perspective of the author, about an important part of their life."
Second of all don't come here with your condescending attitude and start demanding stuff. Mariah doesn't owe you anything. Especially as someone who is a self-professed fan "see how I didn't write lamb". We know the deal about her siblings, two parasites who would do anything to get a check from Mariah. These are Mariah's recollections, and just based on everything we know about her ex-sister and ex-brother, I believe her to the fullest. Mariah doesn't gain anything on lying but they do.
And thank you Leo, pro black doesn't equal anti white. But Andrew of course for someone who is so racially ignorant and the lack of sensitivity around your language when speaking about these topics you have no clue on. I'm honestly appalled by your comments. Whether or not you do it in a deliberate way, it's really sad. And for some who has definitely used racist language before and have said questionable things, you of everyone in this board should definitely not call anyone racist. Have several sits down.

There isn't a "her truth" or a "his truth" there is only *the* truth. Too often now people talk about their supposed own truths as if these claims cannot be questioned. All claims actually can be queried and lack of evidence means that those claims are highly spurious and should not be relied upon.

Future me here remembering that she fully knows this with her lyric in her song Partition - "I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker."

Look, it's her story. She can tell it any way she likes to. It may or may not be the complete truth, but it's her truth. Anyone with the proper resources, platform and connection can write and release a memoir if they choose to. It just so happens that Mariah has those at a much larger capacity than her siblings or her mother. It's their right to be litigious and we respect that. But as a fan who has no real clue of what transpired between Mariah and her family, that's exactly the reason why I really avoid talking about the validity of her claims in the memoir on here, because I really am in no position to comment on it, much less sift what I think is true from what isn't.
I have been fortunate enough to have been educated by my biracial friends about a thing that isn't really talked much about called centering. Biracial people often struggle with it as a part of their issues with identity in a society that always wants to simplify things by putting people in boxes and categories. Someone like Mariah, who grew up in a predominantly white neigborhood, who feels more centered towards her black heritage, was criticized for being not too white nor black enough but also somehow benefitted for being white-passing in her career - you could see how this messes things up for her even up to now.
I'd say that at worst she likely has identity issues and maybe even internalized anger that do show up every now and then. She's gonna eventually have to deal with them at her own pace, but until then, that's still different from being outright racist.

If Mariah is racist or doesn't like white people then why are you still a fan? I genuinely don't understand it. I certainly wouldn't be checking a fan account if someone had such hideous offensive views.

Stacey, most of the videos of her performance you see on YouTube have been corrected, but that's not the way it went down. Right at the end, when she's about to sing the word "brave", she lips out of sync. I can't believe you can't remember that.

Breaking news:
Beyoncé has already been announced as a nominee in several categories in the 2022 Grammys regardless of whether or not she releases any music this year.
She's talented, but her brilliance has always been more impressive than emotionally affecting. Before Ariana and BTS' fans came along, the Beyhive was probably the most toxic and blindly allegiant fanbase around.
She could release an audio recording of her bodily noises played on a loop and still have it praised to the high heavens.

Signature hit song (97,592)
by We are lambily from USA
| |
|
|
I feel like aside from her songwriting and producing skills, what separates Mariah the most from her other peers/most legends is that she honestly has no signature song. Depending on the demographics you get different answers. The only other artist I can think of is Michael Jackson. My fave male artist, I hope Mariah samples him even ask his estate for some unrealised material. But anyways let's get into it.
- All I want for Christmas is you is definitely her most successful song and one of the greatest songs ever made. This song needs honestly a special award or something, the impact and its longevity is remarkable and I'm honestly just fascinated by that song.
- Hero is another possible contender and it was one of the first songs I immediately fell in love and along with CTTA made me a stan. This song has been with us through the darkest days. It's such a powerful song and radio used to play this constantly when we used to be outside

We are linked. I was watching a guy on YouTube react to Mariah singing the US national anthem and genuinely thought she pulled it off until the last moment where she missed the beat. And about five minutes later I read your post. It was a freaky moment.
In re: Beyoncé: I can only name about five of her solo songs. I don't see the appeal in her as an artist. Her songs are forgetful. I could not name one song from Lemonade and the only reason I remember she had an album called Lemonade is because I remember Adele fawning over it when accepting the Record of the Year Grammy for 25. Beyoncé takes herself extremely seriously. Everything she does seems to end with a hand in the hip and a side look as if people should crumble in the presence. When she sang in front of reporters to prove she could sing live and finished it with: "Any questions?" I admired her confidence. I only wish one of the reporters had said: "Yes, why are you over-rated?"
Speaking of people who take themselves too seriously, you mentioned Christina Aguilera who must surely hold the title. In any single album launch Christina talks about it as if it is her personal diary and no, really is it this one, not the last one, that was personal but this is Per. So. Nal. I am sure everyone right now can hear her interviews in her Valley Girl voice: "I think this record really shows who I am as an artist... the most personal record I've ever made... really speaks about who I am inside... shows my fans a part of me they haven't seen before..." and so on and so forth. And every time she goes for a belt she crunches over in what looks like preparation for a tandem vomit and shit. She should one day follow through, then we really would get to see who she is on the inside.

Defamation (97,588)
by Andrew from the United Kingdom

Hardly surprising that Mariah's brother is suing her for defamation alongside her sister. She made a lot of unfounded allegations in the book. I would be surprised if her mother sued her for calling her a racist because a mother would probably never sue her daughter. I would be very surprised if other people did not sue her, however, including the co-app board of the building where Barbra Streisand was selling the apartment Mariah wanted to buy. They "didn't want black men" in the building, ie. rappers Mariah knew. So either they are racist for which Mariah should have evidence, or if there is no evidence, Mariah is the racist. In fact, there's a hell of lot of unfounded claims in that book and many things to show that Mariah is at worst racist or at best really doesn't like white people.

She wasn't on the list because she sung the National Anthem which is not the same as the half-time main performance. As much as I love her rendition of the National Anthem, her inability to lipsync for her life left her exposed. Everybody thought it was live until... Well, Christina did worse, she screamed like a dying goat and forgot the lyrics, lol.

The mainstream music media hates Mariah, let's be real. Beyoncé with 30 Grammy awards, Mariah with 5? I do think Whitney Houston has about seven, Celine Dion 5 and Madonna 6. And Beyoncé 30. The Grammy's are as delusionized as the Rolling Stone magazine. I just watched a YouTube clip made by the Rolling Stone where they placed the 10 greatest Super Bowl performances, Mariah wasn't even on the list. Mariah has never earned the respect from critics and will never do. Mariah is a people person, and always will be.

That's hilariious and shows once more that the music industry is dead at the moment. I only remember the song with Jay-Z (her first solo single, which was okay but nothing special), then some radio/chart hits but I wouldn't listen to one song on CD or streaming. I must admit that I really liked Beyoncé while she was with Destiny's Child. That was great RNB. But Beyoncé as a singer is totally overrated for my taste. A beautiful woman but her music doesen't reach me at all (emotionally).

Those are threads that fall out of interest and a constant narrative is lost. That is especially so when every time someone replies to a post there's a hundred lines of thread before each response. Coupled with symbols and characters added in for no reason. I like this board because the militant Dutchman keeps it clean and formal. Even if he still needs to get a little more... fun out of life! There was an ellipsis in that sentence and it ended with an exclamation mark. Let's see what happens. Hold onto your seats. Things are about to get wild.
